I want to tell my hunny that I have one but Idk how he will take it…do men get grossed out over yeast infections …its not like they are std’s

Not telling him you have a yeast infection is like letting him perform oral and not telling him you’re on your period.

Okay, so here’s the problem. I have reoccuring yeast infections constantly. I’m 16 right now. I’ve been getting them since I was around 14, but I didn’t get it treated until last August. Stupid, I know. But when I was 14 – ?, I really had no idea that I had a yeast infection, I thought it was normal, lol. So I had a yeast/bacterial infection for about almost 2 years. Anyways, I went to the doctor back in August and they gave me medicine for bacterial and yeast infection. It didn’t work. And I’ve had reoccuring yeast infections since then. There’s only been 3 different weeks where I DIDNT have an infection. Other than that. I’ve had it nonstop. And I’ve been to the doctor at least 25+ times for different medicines. None of which worked.(or they would work for a couple days, then I would get the infection back.) So, is there a chance that I could have a systemic yeast infection?
Also, I have VERY GOOD hygiene. I take showers daily. I don’t use scented soap in that area. I’m not over weight.( i’m 5.3 and weigh 105.) I don’t eat much sugar, and I’ve been backing down on my bread intake and stuff like that. So i’ve mainly been eating things that don’t have sugar or yeast. I don’t use tampons. I’m not sexually active or anything. So I don’t understand why I can’t get rid of it.

i think you should get these books:

i also used to get recurring yeast infections and these books saved my life

I’ve had blood test and all come back normal, but I get colds at least every three months.
Also, will I need to change my diet drastically or just add more veggies to my diet?

Yeast is a very tenacious creature that is difficult to subdue once it has made its way into the bloodstream. I can be the source of many, many diverse symptoms that are frustratingly difficult to diagnose. Treatment by natrual means requires patience and diligence but the reward is great. Using probiotics on a regular basis is an excellent idea–for more than just yeast. Keeping your colon clean is imperative. In addition eliminating sugars from your diet is a must as yeast thrives on sugar. Herbally speaking using olive leaf extract, pau d’arco tea, and echinecea (2 wks on,3 wks off ) & caprylic acid are all very effective against yeast. This product really works–AquaFlora .

I took an antibiotic for an infection (not related to female health) and it not only killed the bad bacteria- it killed the good bacteria too….now, I have a yeast infection!

I read online at http://www.msu.edu/~eisthen/yeast/yourself.html
that tree tea oil is wonderful for yeast infections.

I am not sure about this-but I was willing to give it a try. Has anyone ever used tea tree oil and does it really work for vaginal yeast infections? Are there any side effects of using tea tree oil (other than the slight burning)?

How long should I continue to use this? I was thinking two days may be three days at the max. Does it kill the yeast or would I have to resort to the over-the-counter remedy like Monostat?

Any advice from a nurse or doctor would be great. If anyone has any information about the natural side of remedies-please let me know.

I am not into natural remedies-but I do believe that they can work for some people.

I too was a victim of antibiotics! They definitely wreck havoc on your immune system and cause all types of other problems, including yeast infections.

I tried a variety of treatments. First I tried monistat and the infection kept coming back. Then I went to the Dr, and tried diflucan and gynelotrimin and that helped for a while but then the infection kept coming back. Then I tried tea tree oil suppositories and that worked pretty good. But one thing that gave me the best and lasting results was garlic.

Garlic is one of natures’ anti-fungal remedies and it worked wonders for me. I used cloves of garlic wrapped in gauze and inserted maybe an inch or two into the vagina. Inserted with enough of the gauze still hanging out for safe removal. I would insert a new clove every 3-4 hours. I did this for about five days. The itching went away almost immediately. Also if you mash the garlic a little it help to release the juices. Not too much because then it will burn.

I had to recommend because I was suffering from almost constant yeast infections, maybe 12 per year. Now it has been about 8 months with no infection. I am sooo happy about that.

Another major thing is to watch your diet. Too much sugar, soda and sweets might also be contributing to your problem. Among other things. Well, good luck to you.

I have a skin yeast infection, i think? It looks like this.

but i am not very sure it is what it is. Have you seen this on anyone before? It is on my entire body.
Do you know how i could cure it??? Please any help would be nice.
One thing, it does not appear on my butt, face, or feet. but everywhere else. My dad says it is mainly where I sweat.
They also get flaky eventually and can get scratched off. So i don’t know. I am so self-conscious and worried now!

I can’t see the pic! But if you believe to have yeast infection here is the only cure for that.

I heard plain yogurt can also help… What can be used without seeing a Doctor?

i found an interesting site… explaining how to…
**do it yourself**
a while ago, i received an email from a gentleman who, on the advice of a doctor, had tried using an over-the-counter vaginal cream (Monistat) to treat his penile yeast infection. i guess he just rubbed the stuff on the outside of his penis. anyway, he said that it didn’t work at all until he added a few drops of white vinegar to it to a small blob of cream, and then it worked overnight.

he also warned against applying straight vinegar, which eats right through the skin. ’nuff said.

since posting that suggestion, i’ve received quite a few emails from people whose doctors have recommended applying Monistat directly to the surface of the penis to cure yeast infections. most say it works fine. so hey, i guess you can go ahead and try it, and if it doesn’t start to work in a day or two, try adding a little vinegar. what do you have to lose? (okay, maybe it could fall off.)

Hope this helps…. n bythe way… most regular vaginal yeast infection kits can be bought at ur local walgreens… in womens healt section…

My dog has had 3 ear yeast infections in 2 years. The first time she had it we took her to the vet and payed 80 bucks for drops. She didn’t like those so much. >.> The second time she got an infection it lasted several months before going away on it’s own. Now she has another one and I can’t afford to take her to the vet again. Is there some simple home remedy that I could possibly spray in her ears? I’ve heard about using alcohol and vinager(sp?) but I don’t know what the exact measurments are. >.< I’d rather it be something I could spray in her ears since she dosen’t like people messing with them too much.

I truly believe I have tried every product/home remedy on one of my dogs who suffered from yeast infections in her ears. None worked. What did work was changing her diet. Look for a grain-free food, or one without corn, wheat, and rice. Wellness Super 5 Mix, (formerly fish & sweet potato,) is what I use for her, and she never has yeast infections any more. (Except when she breaks into the chicken/cat/guinea pig/rat/human food :-)
Good luck.

please help me my you no wa (vagina) smells lk how a stinky armpit wuld,.. i have no itchiness no redness my only promblem is smell! is it a yeast infection?! and it is fine wen i come out of shower but after that it smells again..! i have onl douched twice.. cause i didnt no it was bad

If the smell is really rancid, it sounds like you might have a bacterial infection (as opposed to a yeast infection).

Bacterial infections include yellow, smelly discharge.
Yeast infections include thick, white, cottage cheese-like discharge.
Trichomonas (parasitic) infections include yellow-green discharge.

Keep in mind that the smell might be normal too :) If you don’t develop any other symptoms (like unbearable itchiness), I wouldn’t worry about it. But if the smell is very strong, and/or you develop other symptoms in a few days, I’d make an appointment with your primary care physician or gynecologist just to be sure.

I’m not sure what I might have…I have unusual discharge, I took monostat 1 and it went away, but then I had sex with my boyfriend and it came right back! It also hurts lately when we’re having sex, but just right around the opening…and I have some dry skin too on the upper part. This has come and gone like three times over the past month or two…what could this be a sign of?

I’m not a medical professional or anything, but it sounds like it could be a yeast infection. If you and your boy friend are having unprotected sex he can re-infect you with the yeast infection (especially if he’s not being cured himself). With yeast infections the vagina can become dry and having intercourse would be painful in that case. But you should definitely check with your doctor who can let you know what you and your boy friend can do so you won’t get re-infected.

i need it fast im goin bald has ne 1 ever had it ?

Yeast infection of the skin or scalp can be treated using natural home remedies.

Here are a few:

Oregano Oil has also been tested as a proven method of killing yeast. However, the results are more effective when the oregano oil contains more than 68% of carvacrol which is the most active ingredient in the product.

Tea Tree Oil and Cinnamon Oil are also two natural treatments that will kill the yeast infection in no time.

For more detailed information, you can visit the sources that I have provided for you.
