I think my dog may have an intestnal yeast infection when he did #2 today it looked like a long slime or jelly looking stuff. Is there anything i can give him for this?

Your dog may have some sort of parasites or he may have eaten something that upset his digestion. Make sure your dog is not acting in any unusual way. Watch him and if he has any other symptoms or does not seem to be acting "himself", then call the vet. Sometimes a dog will get into the trash, eat something he should not have eaten, and then have upset digestion. You need to watch for:
-not eating normally
-not defacating normally
-apparant pain
-acting tired or lethargic, inactivity
-not drinking water
-any other odd behavior
The real source for the health of your dog is your vet. Even if these things are not apparant, you might be wise to just call your vet to see what they think. Please always take a dog to the vet if there is any vomiting, because this can cause problems very quickly. Call the vet and ask their opinion. That is what they went to school for.

wondering if anyone has a treatment for yeast infections at home, rather than buying the store bought stuff

Here are 4 natural remedies to dealing with yeast infection:

Yogurt – Something to try that might help ease yeast infection symptoms is yogurt. Yogurt is good for
individuals suffering from yeast infections because yogurt contains an active bacteria known to kill the yeast fungus. However, if you don’t like the taste of yogurt, the flavored ones that come with fruits slices at the bottom are a great alternative. Or you can visit your pharmacist, whereby he can give you a product called Lactinex, which contain the same active fungus-killing bacteria that yogurt does. The application of yogurt in the affected area almost immediately relieves the itch. And in a matter of 1-2 days, the yeast build-up would begin to fade.

Tree oil – Taking a warm tub bath with a few drops of tea tree oil can also help to relieve external symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection. This bath will simply rinse the area continuously with water and tea tree oil. An alternative is also to try a warm bath with a cup of apple cider vinegar mixed in. Both these baths will temporarily soothe the external itching and burning associated with a yeast infection.

Apple Cider Vinegar – This is a great natural treatment as it can bring about quick results for the acute episode of yeast infection. However, like all natural treatments – they do not always work.

Garlic. – Garlic is well know remedy for dealing with many kinds of diseases. Garlic has amazing healing properties and works really well against yeast buildup.

ok i have a yeast infection, last night me and my bf had sex, and he gave me oral sex, then he kissed me, can i get the yeast infection in my mouth too? don’t ask y i didn’t use protection?

Hi! Peachy Keen is WRONG about yeast infections being caused by "bacteria" – they are caused by YEAST organisms, which are fungi, not bacteria. The spores are everywhere around us and on us all the time, so a yeast infection is NOT a sign of dirtiness. It’s just that the environment of your skin has changed slightly and allowed the spores to grow and multiply enough to cause you irritation.

Yes, you can get a yeast infection in your mouth, but it is unlikely. (Babies often get them.) The common medical term for this is candidiasis (otherwise known as thrush), caused by the candida albicans organism.

Here is a link to a recent question about this issue, which includes details on how to treat a yeast infection:

No need to feel guilty!!

I just finished a one dose treatment of yeast medicine and had sex the next day do I need to worry about the nuvaring being less effective? I don’t want to get pregnant help pls.

No, this medication wouldn’t interfere with letting the Nuvaring release hormones as normal.

I think he has a yeast infection.

Like a redheaded stepchild.

Could symptoms start out as very dry nose and red dry eyes before it moved to shaft of penis? We really cant afford to go to doctor right now, just trying to relieve some of the symptoms. Any ideas how to take care of systemic infection?

Guys do get yeast infections its called jock itch. You can get over the counter sprays or lotions to take care of burning and itching in groin, but I dont know about systemic infection.

I seem to be always getting yeast infections. I go a few months without one and then it comes back. sometimes they are not as bothersome as others, but i am tired of getting them. Have taken prescriptions for them. No one seems to be able to give me the answer, not even doctors!

You should really talk to your gynecologist about this and ask for some blood work to be done. If you are also tired a lot, very thirsty and need to pee a lot, you could very likely be a diabetic. Also, are you using a pill to treat the infection or a cream? If you are using the pill, doctors are finding that one pill is not enough and often prescribe 2 or 3 to make sure that it is completely gone. It is possible that you simply have an infection that does not clear up completely. Also, if you wear thongs of panties that are not cotton, try switching to all cotton for a while. They allow air to get to those areas and help to keep them drier, which will also help prevent infections. Best wishes.

I have a yeast infection and i bought the 3 day suppositories, but i forgot and skipped a day and now the infection is back. Everyone tells me to get a pill from the dr and do that.I would rather stick to older things on the market or home remedies,i did hear vinegar and yogurt mixed for a douche was good to use, has anyone ever heard of this?I may just call my dr. monday and get the pill but for now and tomorrow i wanted some relief. thanks

Hi there,

Both Vinegar and yogurt can be used and you can mix them together and create a douche as well, but I would try some of my other suggestions first before aggressively douching.

In which case, here are some natural tips and suggestions for you.

There are many things you need to start doing and addressing if you are suffering from a yeast infection. To start, do the following:

1. Wear loose clothing and undergarments, oxygen kills yeast, going commando and wearing nothing down there if possible is even better.

2. Get some unsweetened yogurt and rub it onto a tampon, insert the tampon and do this continually until the yeast infection is gone.

3. Cut out any and all sugar, alcohol and yeast from your diet. All three will promote the infection further.

4. Start drinking cranberry juice, pure not from concentrate with no added sugar, I know this goes against the no sugar thing but the acid content in the cranberries will alter the PH balance of your vagina and cause the yeast to die off.

5. If you can tolerate it, use a raw garlic clove and apply it to the infection, this may burn so dilute it with some olive or coconut oil, both of which can also help eliminate the yeast, especially the coconut.

6. You can also try taking some vitamin B3, many women find their infections resolve quicker when they are taking 300mg/per day.

7. Take a probiotic with at least 50 billion live cells per pill, this is key in redistributing good bacteria throughout your body, and effectively end the yeast infection. You must do this continually until you have eliminated your yeast infections and Candida entirely.

8. Lastly if all else fails, begin adding 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to a bath. Only fill the tub up high enough to submerge your genital area. Stay in the tub for 20-30 minutes at a time.

Hope this helps, the yogurt is the key really, by putting good bacteria directly on the area you will eliminate it quickly. Make sure it is unsweetened and ideally keep an eye out for a variation called Kefir which has even more beneficial bacteria in it to snuff out the infection.

When all is said and done I would suggest you research Candida and take a test to determine if you are suffering from it, as anyone who gets yeast infections has Candida, it’s just a matter of how bad it is.

I am on my 3rd and last day of treatment for a yeast infection. Today I noticed that my labia is so raw that I actually have broken skin in one area, I assume from scratching it. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions on how to heal it? I have been using the monistat cream but it seems to sting a little.

Sometimes you can have two problems at once. I have extremely sensitive skin and this same thing happened to me once. It turned out I had a skin condition called lichen where the skin gets so irritated that it starts to thicken because you’ve scratched so much (I have psoriasis, too). The skin becomes extremely tender, irritated, and in some cases, can bleed. I would suggest seeing a dermatologist if the problem continues as it may be something more than just the yeast infection.

i have tiny pink dots on the end of my foreskin but you can only see them if i retract the foreskin, no burning or itching at all. do i have a yeast infection?

You could, could be herpes or something else too
