my fiance recently developed a rash on the shaft of his penis in the exact same spot every time we have sex. this started after i began using the nuvaring. could it be an allergic reaction that possibly got infected? he says it almost feels like a tear when we are having sex and the next day he gets a red rash looks almost like a sore. this never happened before (we have been together for over 3 years). He is freaking out because the dr said it was an std no question about it. but they didn’t even test him – i think it may be a yeast infection? I think i may have had one recetly – does this sound like anything anyone else has had?

If this only happens after you have sex (every time since you have started the nuva ring) I would guess it is a reaction to the nuva ring. I don’t know any STDs that only show themselves right after you have sex.

The doctor had no business telling him that it was "no question" an STD if he wasn’t going to perform the required testing.

I think you should start by getting yourself and your fiance tested for all STDs. If the tests are negative, then you have at least ruled it out and you can both relax.

The irritation could be caused by the friction of the nuva ring, or contact dermatitis from the material of the ring its self. It also could be a yeast infection. If he is negative for STDs then more investigation will have to be done by the doctor to determine the cause.

I would suggest going to another doctor, getting tested for all STD’s and possibly changing your birth control.

My friend did some research and found out she had a yeast infection. She’s to ashamed to go to the doctor but,she would like to know how can sure cure it without prescription or over-the-counter medicines. So does any one have any home remedies she could use?

Put yogurt there. Like the natural kind without any sugar at least once a day but preferably two. Make a warm salt bath water and sit in it for a while. Make sure she gets a lot of fresh air up there so no tight pants(and no synthetic fabrics. cotton is best) and limit sugar from diet completely. Yeast loves that sugar!

My gyno gave me some vaginal dialators to use because I have a problem with muscle spasms down there. I recently used one and then realized that I had a yeast infection. I’ve since gotten rid of it with some Vagisil, but am not sure how I should go about cleaning the dialator so I don’t give myself another yeast infection. Has anyone ever had this problem before? What’s the best thing to do?

Can you clean it with bleach…………………and rinse well ?

just curious, i think i could have one, but im not entierly sure..i appericate any help.
just tell me some things that happen.
thanks!
*For, haha sorry about that.

*Itching and/or burning either inside your vagina or around your vulva
*Redness and/or swelling
*Either no odor, or a yeasty-like odor
*Discharge that resembles cottage cheese

If you have any of those symptoms, it’s best to go see a doctor.

I noticed that if I stay away from sugary foods, it tends to clear up faster..would anyone know why this might be true?

Eat yogurt…plain ….
also this sounds gross but it works…tea tree oil is a fungus killer..use a tampon and put a couple of drops on it leave it for about 15 minutes do this on a daily basis..until gone…it usually helps after 2 days…

Yeasts are found on the surfaces of every living thing – including your dog’s body. When your dog is healthy his immune system can stave off and destroy yeasts. But if his immune system is weak his body may not be able to fight off yeast, leading to toxic levels that cause a myriad of health problems.

In addition, some breeds are more inclined toward yeast infections, including West Highland White Terrier, Basset hound, Cocker spaniel, Silky terrier, Australian terrier, Maltese, Chihuahua, Poodle, Shetland sheepdog, Lhasa Apso, and the Dachshund. Also, any dog with skin allergies, an under-active thyroid gland, hypothyroidism, diabetes, or who’s had recent treatment with an antibiotic or corticosteroid, may be more prone to develop a yeast infection.

Symptoms of a yeast infection may include: Greasy or waxy skin, smelly skin, a white tongue, hives or rashes, chronic infections, chronic cough, crusty skin, and discharge from the eyes, nose or ears.

If your dog shows any of these symptoms, he should see his vet right away. Since these symptoms are general, and may be grounded in other problems, the veterinarian will probably try to rule out other possible causes. Your vet may also take a sample of the yeast on your dog’s skin (with a cotton swab or piece of tape, for example), or do a small biopsy and study it under a microscope.

Treatment often includes treatment of underlying problems (like allergies or a thyroid problem), topical shampoo or spray, and oral medications.

Recently my boyfriend started getting a red rash on the shaft of his penis. There is no itching, burning or discharge. We are both free of stds, and have never cheated. I am wondering what could cause the rash. If we dont have sex it seems to clear up but then as soon as we do again it comes back. About a week beforehand I experienced some burning after sex that would cease shortly after. It is possible that I might have had a yeast infection but i am not sure since the symptoms have since ceased. Any help is greatly appreciated
Please do not say " go to the doctor" i will be seeing my doctor for a physical on monday , which is when i will bring up any questions that i do not have answered. thank you

Yup, could be a yeast infection

No, ice does not work–and it could potentially harm you, by giving a sensitive part of you frostbite! Just go get a yeast infection treatment from a drug store.

I know pregnant women need to ask a doctor about medicines for a yeast infection, but is there even a problem for pregnant women to use something like monastat 7? Does a doctor have to be consluted first. I know it is recommended to do so, but I want to know if there was an over the counter medicine availble without a prescription.

You can safely use Monostat while you are pregnant. Follow the directions. You should also let your doctor know you have the yeast infection and what you used to treat it.

Are you experiencing painful vaginal itching and burning? If so, you may have a yeast infection.

A Yeast Infection, technically know as candidiasis, is a fungal infection of the vagina. Candidiasis is the second most common cause of vaginal irritation or vaginitis, and can also occur on the male genitals, particularly in uncircumcised men.

Symptoms include severe itching, burning, and soreness, and irritation of the vagina and/or vulva, and a whitish or whitish-gray discharge that may have a "yeasty" smell like beer or baking bread, known as a garria. It may resemble cottage cheese.

At least three quarters of all women will experience candidiasis at some point in their lives. The Candida albicans organism is found in the vaginas of almost all women and normally causes no problems. However, when it gets out of balance with the other "normal flora," an overgrowth and symptoms can result. If this is your first time to experience the symptoms of a yeast infection, we suggest that you visit a physician.

But you must realize that your yeast infection is not your fault. Yeast infections are extremely common.

Do NOT believe people if they tell you that you did something wrong to cause your yeast infection. Sexual activity, bubble baths or feminine hygiene products, vaginal contraceptives, or damp or tight-fitting clothing do not cause yeast infections.

Hope that helps … good luck..

xoxo
