I am not circumcised and had a case of balanitis. My groin lymph nodes were very swollen and painful during that episode, but I was treated with both a cream and pills. The balanitis is basically gone, but when I was treating myself some new symptoms came up.

My penis glans is very dry and flakey, with some dry white build up. It is not smegma. A small patch and a little inset dot formed. Some other strange symptoms popped up as well. I at first was scared of it being penile cancer, but being only 20 and recovering from a case of balanitis didn’t make that seem too logical.

But the main question I have here is can a yeast infection cause groin lymph node pain? They don’t seem swollen. At least not like when they were during the balanitis. They were ballooned then.

The pain is sort of like a cramp in that region.

I have a urologist appointment for Tuesday.
Just trying to get an idea, since I hate waiting.

Really appreciate any help.
Oh I should also add a timeline. Balanitis started about 5 weeks ago. Treatment for that began a week and a half later. Antibiotic treatment was for about 11 days. The newer symptoms (yeast infection type) either came up during or after treatment. Lymph node problems went away after antibiotics. Though I did have very minor and occasional pains later. They are just more frequent now.

Just be patient and wait for your appointment. Neither myself nor many people on here can properly advise you on this.
Good luck.

ladies, i have a yeast infection, and i was wondering if you have any tips, hints, or home remedies that work for you or help you out. i haven’t tried garlic but i’ve heard of it and i have NO gauze pads, would tampons work? please.

You can try eat yogurt, plenty of it, stop eating sugar, and eat garlic, raw one. If you have minor yeast infection it will go away with otc medicines. But, most of the times if your immune system is weak it will come back. The drugs from the otc just treat it locally, but not the cause of yeast infection. Everybody has yeast in our body nowadays, it just depends in which one is develops mostly.Antibiotics are the main cause of yeast overgrow.

I’m four months pregnant, and recently my doctor diagnosed me with a yeast infection. I took the medicine exactly like I was told, but I think it didn’t fully take care of the problem. What effects does a yeast infection have on the pregnancy?

You need to tell the doctor if you do not feel like it fully took care of the problem, that way it can be taken care of.

…are there any other ways to treat one without getting treated by a doctor?? ..i heard before that they usually clear up over time on their own, but it just takes longer?…

Thrush is different from a yeast infection. Many people don’t realise they have a yeast infection until it has been there for quite some time. The symptoms can be nonspecific, which means that aside from the yeast infection, other conditions can cause identical symptoms, so this is why it can go untreated for some time. The most common symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection is itching in the vaginal and/or vulvar area though.
Antifungal medications that are applied topically in and around the vagina or with antifungal medications taken by mouth.

I have had a yeast infection nonstop for 3 years now. It never went away. Not once. Now I’m scared that I might have sepsis or a systemic yeast infection. I know that candida can get into the bloodstream but I don’t know if that’s happened to me.

What can I do to make my yeast infection go away? My gyno gave me two Diflucan, that didn’t work. Then the last time I went to him he said I didn’t have a yeast infection but HE’S WRONG because I STILL have it. He was in a rush to get home and didn’t want to bother with me. I still have all of the symptoms, discharge, etc. I STILL have it trust me on this one.

Please help me! I’m so scared.

First of all, if you have had this for three years and your doctor hasnt schooled you on this, then you need to get yourself a GYN will cares enough to treat you, educate you and be there to listen to your concerns.

Now, like another lady said before, just because you have a discharge, does not mean you have a yeast infection. It can be just normal discharge, the vaginas way of cleaning itself.

Do you always feel itchy and discomfort??

I know its a little too much, but for the sake of making a connection I will share. I discharge quite often myself. At first I was scared it was some type of STD or infection. My doc did a biopsy, where they clip a small piece of tissue from inside of you to test (considering your problem, you should have had a biopsy already). Turns out, my body just discharges alot. Sometimes its clear with an egg yolk like consistency, and other times it is white, and at some point in the month, it will be a very pale yellow. All as it turns out to be quite normal.

Now, if it is indeed a yeast, stay away from sweets. Are you on any antibiotics? Antibio can also cause yeast infections.

There is this product I bough over the counter it costed me about 18. Its called RePhresh. (Exactly how i spelled it). It is supposed to help with your PH balance in th vagina. If you maintain a good PH balance, then your vagina will be healthier. Try RePhresh as see if it makes any difference for you. It is not a cure for anything, just a helpful product for women who have problems down there.

Schedule yourself with another doctor and sit and explain all your concerns. Make a list of questions so you can ask the doc when you go.

Good Luck.

so i keep getting yeast infections(ive been to the doc. and been treated but keep coming back) i am not overweight, never had an std had blood work done for ALL stds my vaginal discharge has been completely normal with the excpetion of getting treated for yeast infections, my boyfriend doesnt evel ive in the dame state so sex is outta the question so its not being passed back and forth so…? i wear like 95%percent cotton panties, my genetics and family history have no diabetes, i use dove ultra sensitive body wash, i am OVERly hygienic, i dont eat bread, pasta, more than 2 times a week if that, dont drink anything but water, i truly think that my vaginal PH is screwed up big time!!! how do i go about testing for diabetes and has anyone (a WOMAN) had this problem before? i also get oral thrush and little bumps in my lower region that i have had tested and it is jsut yeast so im like a goddamn walking yeast producer!! any advice would be great!!

First, ask for a referral to a specialist. It might NOT be yeast, but a more insidious infection like BV (acts like yeast, but is actually a bacterial infection).

You need to find out what is going on. If your doctor is just treating the symptoms, patting you on your head and sending you on your way with out looking at a cause, it WILL keep coming back.

Are you exhibiting other symptoms of diabetes? Odd body odor, excess sweating, excess thirst and concurrent urination? These would by symptoms, which would need to be checked, but frankly I’ve not heard of a direct link between diabetes and yeast over-growth.

You DID say you’re "overly hygienic." Do you douche? If you do, STOP immediately. This could be causing it, as the practice throws off the natural pH balance and kills off all the "good" bacteria that keep yeast in check.

Sorry I can’t help more. DO get in to see a different doctor. There must be a reason for the problem.

Always get an oral yeast infection after taking antibiotics. Any remedy that doesn’t include a prescription??

I took antibiotics when I had an ear infection. The only way I got rid of the yeast infection is eating mountain high yogurt, and stay away from sugar because it feeds it.

Im a guy, im not overweight but i work out wen i can. I eat reasonably healthy and i drink either beer or spirits on the weekends. I think i may have a skin yeast infection and im not sure what caused it. At first i thought it was a ring worm or something and it appeared on my thigh next to my groin. But it started to spread onto my testicals and down my leg, it looks like a big red rash and its itchy. I think its just a skin yeast infection not a genital infection.
Does anyone know what the problem may be?

ok heres some things you can do to kill the yeast/fungus. take probiotics and drink a lot of water, avoid sugar, carbs, and alcohol. you can fill up your bath tub up to your waist with water and put in a cup of vinegar (white or apple cider) and a cup of salt. or you can fill up your bath tub up to your waist with water and put 10 drops of oil of lavander, the essential kind, the good kind from a health shop. yo can purchase an antifungal cream like monistat and rub it on before you go to bed. or you can buy tea tree oil and rub it on a couple of times a day, clean the area with hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol (only if this doesn’t hurt, you don’t want it to be worse). another thing you can do is rub unflavored, sugar free yogurt on the area, like if you are hanging out at home or before bed, it is cold and will feel good, eat a lot of yogurt too btw! one last thing is this medicine called genitian violet, it is very strong and always clears up my yeast infections, it will stain anything it touches, including your skin for a couple of days, so wear black clothes if you are going to do this, call a dr to make sure it is a yeast infection. feel better!

What would happen if a person with a penile yeast infection used LOTRIMIN ULTRA on his penis?

It probably wouldn’t work very well.

The active ingredient, butenafine, works great against dermatophyte fungi such as those which cause tinea or jock itch, but not so well against yeasts such as Candida albicans. Some antifungal creams such as clotrimazole (Canesten) work well against both.

due to pregnancy hormones i have a terrible yeast infection, my doc has already given me Diflucan, but i need something to help the itching and burning ( possibly something we have in our every day house) if i have to go to the drugstore today i will, any suggestions what will work just for the symptoms, please i’m in agony over these damn womens yeast infections.

omg, Yogurt is to be EATEN, not smeared on your vagina! Some people should just be quiet.

Anyways, eat lots of yogurt. DO NOT DOUCHE! It will just make it take longer.
