I got the one day treatment and used it last night but the increased itching woke me up and the discharge is coming out even more now. Are these signs that it is clearing up, like the "cottage cheese" discharge coming out, is it just being cleared out?

Yeast infection can be treated through over the counter or prescription medication. Treatment can be in the form of pills, creams or vaginal suppository. However, natural remedies are usually more safe, proven to work faster and are often times able to prevent repeated yeast infections. There are natural remedies for yeast infection too which do not involve side effects of any kind. The major difference between prescription based medicine and home remedies to cure yeast infection is that the latter cures the root cause while the former treats the symptoms.

Over the counter drugs are like a bandaid to the problem. That is why a lot of people have repeated yeast infections. You want methods that will get rid of it safely and naturally. If it happens more than twice in 6 months you need to see a doctor i’m afraid. You might need a oral fluconazole and then low dose fluconazole over 7 days to make sure its gone, plus pessaries to work directly at the site.

ok so wat are some good, effective, home remedies for yeast infection like symptoms?

monastat 7 will help everything internal and external
vagisil will only help the outside irratation
oatmeal baths
not wearing tight underwear of a wet bathing suit for a long period of time

Antibiotics.

You had to taken it to the vet if you knew what it was.

I am a 13 years old boy , i haven’t reached puberty yet . i just masturbated 10 or 12 times in my whole life . I pee after my last masturbation . can that cause a penile yeast infection or Chlamydia infection ?

no, beat on my friend

Acidophilus. Not sure if I spelled that right. You can get it from the healthfood store. Also aloe vera is helpful. They both help to maintain the ph balance. Both of these can help, but not cure a yeast infection. You can get medication over the counter. I’d use the medication first & the herbals as a preventative measure. Also, watch your intake of sugar.

I thought I had a yeast infection, so I went to the docs to make sure that’s what it was. The doctor examined me, and agreed that’s what she thought it was, but they’re also looking into STD’s and UTI’s as well (it won’t be an STD as my bf has been overseas for a while, and I was tested for std’s after he left).

Anyway, the doctor gave me a prescription for diflucan (or something like that) and its an oral pill you take once to kill the yeast infection.

I got the pill today, took it about 7 hours ago. But now I’m noticing another really annoying symptom. My one eye hurts, and it feels as though there is something in it – but there isn’t. I read some where that Candida can also infect the eye, so i’m guessing this is what it is. Does anyone have experience with this? Will the pill I took kill the thing in my eye? Will it eventually get better on its own, or do I need to go back to the docs for another medication? Is there anything I can do tonight to make my eye more comfortable?

Sorry – lots of questions. Thanks in advance…

Candida can indeed infect the eye and is called keratits which affects the cornea of the eye. It is very irritating and makes one feel eye pain, watering, sensitivity to light, feels like a cut, grit in the eye and so forth. However let me caution you…Karatitis is very very rare and has generally been related to a contact lens use most recently. As you may recall there was an outbreak of this condition and a recall of certain types and brands of contact lenses. This no longer seems to be a problem:

{(Based on this scientific and epidemiological data suggesting that ReNu with MoistureLoc may increase susceptibility to Fusarium , Bausch & Lomb has decided to permanently remove the ReNu with MoistureLoc product worldwide. FDA supports this decision. To date, data available do not indicate a problem with ReNu MultiPlus or ReNu Multi-Purpose or generic brands of this contact lens cleaning solution. "May 15, 2006")}.

There are also different kinds of fungal karatitis, 2 of them of sexual orientation and the other generally seen from plant and animal origin.

Having noted that this condition is extremely rare, let me caution you that it is difficult to treat. It must be treated by an ophthalmologist and will not be cleared up by the diflucan oral medication that you are currently taking for your vaginal yeast infection. Keratitis requires, antibiotics, antibacterial medication, eye drops, steroids and so on to ensure a return to ophthalmalgic health.

If your eyes are feeling irritated try some home remedies:

*Make concentration of strong tea and boiling water, wait until it’s not too hot soak a cotton wool pad and apply on the infected area.
*Soak a cloth with Aloe Vera and place it over the eyes.
*Mix 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda in 1/2 cup of water. Use as an eyewash.
*Put warm tea bags on the eyes.
*Apply warm, moist compresses several times a day for treating the infection for at least 10 minutes each time.
*A cold compress.
*Be sure and rest your eyes by sleeping or keeping them closed. Either a home eye wash or commercial one will help sooth your eye and moisten it.

If your eye persists with troublesome symptoms, particularly, pain and blurred vision, set up an appointment with preferably an ophthalmologist rather then an optician or optomitrist.

Good Luck

The most common symptom of a yeast infection is extreme itchiness in and around the vagina. Other symptoms include:

* Burning, redness, and swelling of the vagina and the area around it
* Pain when urinating
* Pain or discomfort during sex
* A thick, white vaginal discharge that looks like cottage cheese and does not have a bad smell (or may smell yeasty, like bread or beer)

You may only have a few of these symptoms and they may be mild or severe.

If you think you may have a yeast infection but have not been treated for one before, see your doctor to be sure.

If you can’t afford any

Do you get yeast infections regularly and cream don’t help?

simply stop eating stuff with yeast in it you could be allergic. you could as well have a yeast infection in your intestinal track as well. this also includes cutting sugar out of your diet because sugar feed yeast.

this also will help get rid of your infection. even if it means cutting it out of your diet until its gone

I second the nystatin, although the powder works better for me.

I actually have a chronic skin yeast infection under my breasts. Its being caused by a medication, and theres not much I can do to get rid of it right now, but these are the things that helped…

THe nystatin, for one
Baby powder
gold bond powder
lotrimin (store brand ‘anti fungal creme’ is same thing and much cheaper)
I actually bought the monostat suppositories and broke open the capsul to spread on my skin a few times. Helps a little
I havnt been able to try it yet, but if you take a few drops of grapefruit seed oil mixed in about a cup of cool water it may help. Smooth it over skin with a cotton ball and let dry.
Keep skin as open to air as phsycially possible. IF it is in the fold of a skin, keep something cotten between the fold. I cant wear a bra right now because my skin is raw, so I am wearing cotton t shirts under everything. I then am using a robe tie to hold the shirt under the breast. If it is in the crease between your thigh and genital area, wear boxer briefs (the make them for girls too)
