Probiotics. No sugar diet. Sugar feeds the yeast.

(I would not recomend purchasing them online since the temperature will undoubtedly be compromised at some point in the mailing process. Also dont get the ones on the unrefridgerated shelf. You need to use refrigerated probiotics.

Jarrow formulas is a good (I open the capsule into my mouth to avoid the gelitan capsule, It tastes good.)brand.http://www.jarrow.com/category.php?catid=25&PHPSESSID=415e08138fb6d48cee8e5343e3603578 Nondairy types are best as well.

I also use pro-96 blueberry or apple http://www.natlife.com/PPS/Pro96AcidoPPS.htm
They taste great and even kids have no problem taking it. Im treating my 4 year old for a vaginal infection right now actually and she had relief the next morning. Its good to take a maintenance dose esp if you are prone to yeast.

Probiotics have so many other health benefits as well. They are outlined in the links I listed.

A wonderful discussion, with ideas on how, why and what type of probiotics to use.

If you use store bought yogurt make sure it is sugar free. Otherwise you are feeding the yeast and it will be a battle for your body to get the benefits.

Also lots of water.

Good Luck!

I just had my tongue pierced last night and my piercer was adamant that I not drink beer for 2 months because of risk of a yeast infection in my mouth. This is coming from an employee of a highly regarded tattoo/piercing shop in Austin, TX. I have had my tongue pierced before and the piercer then said nothing about this nor to any of my friends who have this piercing. Has anyone ever experienced this phenomenon? To me, it sounds like total BS.

its not BS.

beer has yeast as an ingredient. the yeast can get lodged in your piercing, and a yeast infection can occur. happened to my sister with hers.

beer is alcohol anyway. think about it logically, you’re supposed to be using an alcohol free mouthwash in the first place, why would you want to drink alcohol while your piercing is healing?

if you’re going to drink while your piercing is healing, make sure you have a small container of alcohol free mouthwash with you to rinse your mouth after every drink.

I really need to know,,never had one before

Diflucan ~ now this is by prescription, wherein Vagisil is for the itching more than anything…also "Australian tea tree oil" in a tepid bath ..now i know many who have tried this,….but remember it is what i have been told…that as far as homeopathy is the ticket for what i know….i would call your physician…i have NEVER had a doctor make me come in for the Diflucan…which is often onset by antibiotics..in fact often when i have had antibiotics, i get the RX for diflucan at the same time…tho it isn’t always needed….there..that is what i know..and i may not have your perfect answer…but…that is the best i can do…also look up Edgar Cayce’s clinic on line …the place i went to was in Arizona when i lived there and there are elixirs to douche with that are clean, fresh and they are extremely healing,…i had forgotten that one ~ i wish you the best! Thank You…..hope it gets better soon…..until yo have the yeast part of the bacterial infection under control use vagisil and panty liners…for vagisil is a topical and nothing to insert…what it does is numb the intchy part of yor perineum…be well….and oh i loathe these things too! take care….

I have heard many sides to this tale. My main question is: Through unprotected sex, can a man give a woman a yeast infection or can a woman give a man a yeast infection. I have heard many sides, yes and No’s so I want to know the truth. My doctor said no unless the man is diabetic then I heard yes that a man could be a carrier for it but how? Could everyone just answer yes and no and an explanation. Thanks

YES, simplistically, men and women can transmit genital yeast infections to each other.

Lemme elaborate now…
It’s not news to anyone that women can get vaginal yeast infections. Duh. But yes, men can sometimes get genital yeast infections, too. It’s commonly called "jock itch" and there are some risk factors for it. Diabetes is one. Diabetics are more prone to yeast infections. Uncircumcised men (who don’t clean themselves properly!!!) are also more at risk because the yeast can get trapped under the prepuce and multiple. Yeast thrive in warm, moist environments, such as a smegma-stuffed foreskin. If a guy’s immune system is weak (from auto-immune disease or HIV infection), he is also likely to have yeast infections (on his genitals, or in his mouth).

If a guy does have a yeast infection, he can pass it to his girlfriend pretty easily if they have unprotected sex. It doesn’t usually do as well on a penis, but it can sure colonize happily in a vagina.

And if you were wondering what a yeast infection looks like on a man, it’s a reddish, itchy rash. It’s cured easily. Just wash with soap and water and use a little bit of anti-fungal cream or spray.

I was diagnosed with a yeast infection almost three weeks ago. I had tried monistat and it didn’t work. I was given two Diflucan and took them a week apart. I thought I was better but after my period I started to have the same pains again and a slight discharge.

I’ve made an appointment for tomorrow to see my gynecologist.

Is there a medicine that’s stronger than Diflucan? Or can he give me a higher dose of it that would cure the yeast infection (assuming that is what this is again). Can you use both Diflucan and monistat?

Thanks!

Btw, please don’t say it’s an STD. I was tested less than a month ago and I’m completely clean.

Try this site its excellent, it has cures for alot of aliments especially a couple for yeast infections… one that worked for me was hydrogen peroxide…seriously, i was taking alot of medicine which caused me to has yeast infections, since the HP method havent had one since.. good luck

or temporary, immediate relief

Drink lots of water and cranberry juice. Quick remedy…buy some cream from the store.

I have bumps and redness that is turning into raw skin. It was itchy but now its really sore. I think it might be a yeast infection. Has anyone ever experienced this?
I know its not an STD. Im married and pregnant.

It may be heat rash which causes heat, itchyness and irritation in forms of little red bums in clusters. It is mostly found between legs and under armpits. It is caused by the blockage of your sweat poures causing them to retain extra sweat (urea) and they become irritated like this.

Treatment is to wear loose clothing and let it pass. It usually disappears in 2 weeks. Aloe Vera lotion will help.

what the most fastest and safest home remedy for yeast infection for female in vagina and labia?
Since yeast infection is hard to treat what is safeest ways and quickest way? and how should the methods be doen properly? and can antibodic be use with acidopholis pill? Thank you all for whom repond to this question

Assuming home remedies mean not going to the pharmacy, then go along to the supermarket and get natural yoghurt with acidophilus. I have heard that inserting this into your vagina is okay, but I have never recommended it to anyone, or used it myself. If you have acidophilus (pro-biotic) capsules at home, check the bottle – some are safe to insert into the vagina. In answer to your second question, it is recommended to take these tablets alongside your antibiotics. Antibiotics not only kill the bad bacteria that causes the infection, but it kills all the ‘good bacteria’ in your stomach too. The probiotics (acidophilus) will replace the good bacteria and help keep the right balance. The imbalance of good and bad bacteria not only causes thrush, but can cause diahorrea too. This will help all symptoms you get from antibiotics as well as thrush.
Hope that wasn’t too ‘medical’ for you to understand!

I have a reoccurring yeast infection, I know I will need to see a doctor but I am temporarily living away from my normal doctor and don’t have insurance, I took this semester off of school. So for the next few weeks until I can get my schedule out to my insurance company, I need some suggestions or a quick fix. What is the best or strongest solution to this problem?

I’ve tried at home remedies, they lasted temporarily, and I’m extremely uncomfortable and aggravated.

Thanks in advance for any answers!

One product that is over the counter that you can try is Monistat but I would recommend the 7 day treatment if they have that available in the store. The 7 day treatment will help to ensure at trying to get rid of this.
