Try getting a Rx from your doctor for boric acid suppositories, 650 mg per 00 capsule. You need to get these from a compounding pharmacy. They will give you a plunger to use as well. They run about $1.50 per capsule.
Also, in conjunction with this, use vitamin E. You don’t have to get the expensive natural vitamin E, the synthetic will work just fine. It just helps protect your sensitive tissue from further irritation.
Insert, while laying in bed, 1 capsule boric acid and 1 capsule vitamin E each night for at least 3 nights, 4 or 5 if it’s really a bad infection. This will balance the Ph in your vagina and enable your body to heal itself.
If you are prone to having frequent infections, try dosing once per month when you seem to have early signs of itching, like right before or after your period or during ovulation. Sometimes these hormone fluctuations will offset your balance. Maintaining healthy vaginal flora is essential.
Try using plain yogurt as a cream during the day for itch relief. Don’t use anti-bacterial soaps. Don’t eat too much refined sugars, sodas, large quantities of fruit or processed carbs. Don’t douche! Not even with vinegar and water and especially with drug store products, it’s just not necessary and in most cases will lead to future infections. Taking a good quality pro-biotic can help keep things in check and is a boost for your immune system, intestines and vagina. Flora-Smart brand is a good choice for us ladies.
Hang in there, I battled these till I figured out what I was lacking and that was balance. Find it and pass it on! ;)

yes its called thrush and its from him giving his partner who has a yeast infection oral sex. he needs to be treated with an antibiotic like any woman

I used a tioconazone 1 day yeast infection otc medicine last night and it says not to have sex while using the product…. does that mean for the next few days of for a week or what would you suggest? I also have the same question about tampons.. it says dont use tampons while using that product. can i wear them in a couple days? anyone have this same situation!?? sorry TMI !!

it means ~48 hours!

anyway if you have yeast infection – you must get rid of it as soon as it is possible!!!

if you really want to get rid of yeast infection forever then you must follow these tips:

1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

3) Decrease or eliminate sugar and sugary foods. Sugar promotes yeast growth.

4) Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent.

5) Try gentian violet. It’s a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found in pharmacies. Swab the area with it once or twice a day. Make sure to use a thick pad – it stains everything.

6) Use an herbal douche. Combine equal amounts of sage, raspberry and comfrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. This can be combined with cider vinegar.

7) You must use herbal treatment. In that case Yeastrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of yeast infection comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that it wont reappear again!
And of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly). For me it worked very fast + I dont get yeast infections anymore…

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Yeastrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.yeastrol.com/?aid=221781

good luck!

The pH of the vagina is different from the pH of the male’s external organs, therefore this very specilized cream Vagisil – however it works for females genetalia – might and most likely not work for male problems.

If a male has itch problems and wants to avoid going to a health care provider for the time being, a Hydrocortisone cream might ease the irritation somewhat. If it doesn’t, a visit to a clinic/dr’s office etc. is advisable, because reasons for the irritation are very varied and treatment should be adjusted to it.

I was taking Yaz for a little over 4 months, and during that time I had a yeast infection once a month! (normally I do not get them at all) Well, I stopped taking Yaz back in mid July, so I’ve been off the pill for a month and a half now. I got another yeast infection in August, right after I stopped taking them, and now I feel like I’m getting another, even though the hormones haven’t been in my system for a month and a half!

Has anyone else out there suffered from recurring frequent yeast infections from taking a BC pill…and if so, how long after stopping with the pill did you stop getting them?
Please, no sales pitches trying to sell me products to cure my infections, I already know how to do that — personal experience only — thanks!

It can be a few months before all the hormones of the pill come out of your system but I would recommend checking with your doctor as well to see what they say.

Is there over the counter yeast infection medication at walmart or a supermarket that i can purchase? And if so what are some ones that work the most efficient?

So, the doctor has diagnosed yeast infection and told me to use lamasil for a week. I’ve been reading up about tea tree oil and I’m going to buy it, but most of the suggestions say you should use four to six drops in your bath…but I don’t have a bath tub. Can I mix it with the lamasil or like aloe vera gel and apply it directly to the affected area (beneath foreskin)?

nooo it willl burn!

She has had a really bad diaper rash just on her front, not on her bottom at all, it is really red and feels rough to the touch. Usually Desitin works on her pretty good but not this time. Could she have a yeast infection and can I just put Vagisil or one of those kinds of creams on her? she is only 9 mos. old.

I feel like I should have posted this same question a week ago. Very similar….I have an 8 month old son, never had bad diaper rash until about 2 weeks ago. Pimples and redness all over his crotch, then it spread to his legs, and up his belly. NOTHING WAS WORKING….Until I went to the pediatrician. She suggested about 1/2 cup to 1 cup of baking soda in his bath (everyday for a week) and then use over the counter athletes foot cream (I know…but it’s safe and works!) called Latrimin (I would have to look at the correct spelling). Also, use petrolium jelly that is really thick. Don’t use wipes because that can make it worse. Instead fill up a warm bowl of water and use a wash cloth to clean her after every diaper change. Be sure to pat her dry really well. After about 2 days, I noticed a difference in the pimples, then the color faded, then it was gone in one week.

what is the recommended OTC product to treat yeast infection and a reason why ? its for persistent vaginal itching & pain

In some cases you may have to take a trip to the Doctor. It is very probable you can cure it on your own. I suggest reading the "Natural Cure for Yeast Infection" .

last night i started a 3 day treatment for yeast infection, when is it safe to have sex again?

You should wait at least until the treatment is done, and you are no long experiencing yeast infection symptoms. The reason for this is that you can give your partner your yeast infection if you have sex with him before the infection is completely gone.

EDIT: I’d also like to add that if you are using condoms as your main form of birth control, having sex while you are using the treatment would be ill-advised as some yeast infection medications break down the latex condom, making it much more likely to break, making it much more likely for you to become pregnant.
