Try getting a Rx from your doctor for boric acid suppositories, 650 mg per 00 capsule. You need to get these from a compounding pharmacy. They will give you a plunger to use as well. They run about $1.50 per capsule.
Also, in conjunction with this, use vitamin E. You don’t have to get the expensive natural vitamin E, the synthetic will work just fine. It just helps protect your sensitive tissue from further irritation.
Insert, while laying in bed, 1 capsule boric acid and 1 capsule vitamin E each night for at least 3 nights, 4 or 5 if it’s really a bad infection. This will balance the Ph in your vagina and enable your body to heal itself.
If you are prone to having frequent infections, try dosing once per month when you seem to have early signs of itching, like right before or after your period or during ovulation. Sometimes these hormone fluctuations will offset your balance. Maintaining healthy vaginal flora is essential.
Try using plain yogurt as a cream during the day for itch relief. Don’t use anti-bacterial soaps. Don’t eat too much refined sugars, sodas, large quantities of fruit or processed carbs. Don’t douche! Not even with vinegar and water and especially with drug store products, it’s just not necessary and in most cases will lead to future infections. Taking a good quality pro-biotic can help keep things in check and is a boost for your immune system, intestines and vagina. Flora-Smart brand is a good choice for us ladies.
Hang in there, I battled these till I figured out what I was lacking and that was balance. Find it and pass it on!
