I recently had a UTI and I was left with a yeast infection from the antibiotics.

Can I still become pregnant if I have an yeast infection?

Also, I was wondering everytime I have sex with a certain male the next morning I have a thick gluey discharge. Does anyone know what this may be?

1. An ordinary yeast infection cannot cause infertility. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t treat it, as it is communicable and unpleasant. Your doctor can prescribe diflucan, or you can take an over-the-counter medication like Monistat which should clear it up in a few days.

2. Yes you can still get pregnant if you have a yeast infection. You are also more vulnerable to STDs, as your vagina is irritated and susceptible to tearing.

3. Are you not using a condom? It could be semen, or it could be that you are ovulating (thick gluey discharge is classic ovulation mucus). If you’re concerned, you need to see a doctor for this one, since internet diagnosis is notoriously unreliable.

Due to taking too much of an antibiotic, I have a yeast infection (I am a man, no vaginal meds obviously). I am going to change my diet for a month and would also like to take an over the counter medicine – including an anal suppository. Do they exist? What brand?

call and ask your local pharmacist. this way you’re not doing something bad for you.

please reply
is it okay to take yeast infection medicine if you are not sure about that you have it. coz i feel itchy in vagina and lil burning sunsetion.

I’m not sure. If they are acidic you can use them with this treatment. It’s a lot cheaper than store bought cures.

You may want to begin this treatment with a vinegar douche. Then, in a water tight container, combine 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water. Add cotton balls. Use these as you would a tampon, I like it dripping wet. This helps to soothe the outside. Change it every time you urinate so you change it often enough.

From now on, you may want to start this treatment whenever you start any antibiotic so you don’t get yeast.

I’ve been using this for 35 years, and it’s a small miracle.

peace

our female english mastiff has an ear infection, and we want to know if there are home remedies or herbs we can use to clear it up, not something expensive we have to get through a vet or some website, something we can buy at a store and use at home.

since it is a yeast infection..don’t laugh, it really works..monistat or any other feminine yeast product will work on your dogs ears! it has essentially the same basic ingredients as the mometomax that your vet will prescribe.

no treatment will work however if you don’t take precautionary steps to preventing another infection. first, clean the ear well with an ear solution (from pet store) and cotton balls. apply some of the monistat into the ear canal and massage the ear thoroughly (you want the medicine deep into the ear). clean and apply med once daily until a significant imporvement is seen, then move to once every other day, and ween off like that.. yest is caused by moist dark places, so do everything within your power to keep your pup’s ears dey.

good luck hope this helps :)

Is a black tongue with a white paste and burning sensation down the middle…?
a sign of a yeast infection ?
I just finished having systemic candida that gave me asthma…
So I’m on inhaled steroids for the asthma…and swallowed steroids to help out…
I told my fam doc that the pills would give me another yeast infection…
He wanted to know why I didn’t fuss about the inhalers…I said I did…just not to you…

So am I right…is the yeast infection back if my tongue is black with a white paste and burning sensation?
I looked black tongue up on wikipedia and it is a type of fungus…
It’s different than Pepto tongue…which I have had. It’s blacker.
Kim, the pineapple cure was interesting. Thanks.

I found this site:

I don’t know if this is what you have, but it does mention yeast. Good luck!

Helppppppp pleaseeeee…….. Have an allergy to diflucan, face breaks out in a rash and throat swells. I’m on steroids for adrenal insufficiency and inhaled steroids for asthma. On top of the basically normal monthly yeast infection (no rude comments) I’ve had oral thrush for months and months. Nystatin helped but didn’t get rid of it Amo B mouth washes (custom made) didn’t help… Finally doctors argued with me it wasn’t a fungal infection. Well i begged a doctor to culture it after months of it and well it is a fungus.. Now trying mycelex (sorry can’t spell) i’ve used them before, and had no reaction, but up till december i had no reaction to diflucan. I know there is a chance of an allergy but don’t know what else to do. Yogurt, probiotics make my stomach hurt like no tomorrow, garlic doesn’t help. regular mouth washes, peroxide diluted mouth washes do nothing, cleaning tounge leaves it too painful to even talk or eat. I’m soooooooooooo in dire need of help doctors are even clueles
Thanks to any helpful advice… anyone out there allergic to diflucan, severe actual allergies not just bad reactions…. It’s a rare allergy, but i am the unusal case in almost everything. i’m also alergic to codiene, loratab (vicodin), amoxicillin, spivara (all sent me to ER)..

i was getting monthly yeast infections and was tired of getting over the counter medicine because they stopped working.

I started douching with two little caps of hydrogen peroxide with two cups of water for like five days, yeast infection is gone. Make sure the hydrogen peroxide only has distilled water and peroxide no other ingredients. a bottle of hydrogen peroxide should not cost more than a dollar.

Ohh and I had a pap soon after and got a test for yeast infection and it came out clear. my ph balance was excellent too.

it seems that your immune system might be low, try to take some vitamin supplements and keep eating yogurt even if your stomach hurts, what do you prefer white toungue or stomach pain?

You sure can! When given the opportunity, yeast will grow nearly anywhere on (or in) our bodies. Usually, there are beneficial bacteria that keep the yeast at bay so to speak but if you have taken any immune suppressing drugs like an antibiotic or steroids this will increase your risk of developing a yeast infection. People with chronically compromised immune systems due to AIDS, mono infections, and chemotherapy often will have yeast infections in their mouths (thrush) and on their faces near the eyes. Diabetics are also prone to yeast infections that can show up in a variety of places. In health, it is not common to have a yeast infection on the skin.

Athletes foot is caused by a fungus but it is a different species (Tinea) than the one that causes traditional yeast (Candida) infections. Both respond to anti-fungals however I wouldn’t think it would be wise to use something make for your feet elsewhere on the body. ;)

There are a lot of other bacterial and autoimmune skin conditions that might cause redness and itching so if you are concerned and/or it isn’t going away I would head to the doctor. :)

Hope this helps.

I went to the doctor because I thought I was getting cold sores on my mouth, but it turns out I have an oral yeast infection. She gave me a name of a cream used for yeast infections. However, I think I have a yeast infection "down there" as well (I know I should have told my doctor this, but I didn’t. She seemed stressed, and I had some other stuff to talk about as well), because it’s been burning and I’ve been getting a lot of discharge. It’s safe to use the yeast infection cream in both places, even though my doctor only prescribed it for my mouth, right?

You can go to any store or pharmacy and pick up medicine specifically for yeast infection "down there". Also, do not take baths. Take showers instead, and keep the area clean and dry. Drink cranberry juice. (I hate the juice myself but it does help.

One particular over the counter medicine that I use is Vagisil. Not only does it help clear it up, but it stops the itching and burning. And it doesn’t cost much.

Another one is Monistat. It too helps with yeast infections.

Yeast infections in women are generally cause by antibiotics, because antibiotics kill everything, including good bacteria. So, if you’re on antibiotics that might be why you have yeast infection.

Another source could be too much caffeine. Drink more water.

If all else fails after seven days of treatment, consult your doctor.

Feel better soon

I have had problems with one for 2 years now(scared of doctors). I am not sexually active and have been tested for stds(negative). Thanks in advance for any advice.
Someone asked who tested me for stds if I am afraid of doctors. I was tested 5 years ago after I found out my ex wife had cheated with around 50 people. I was more scared of aids than the doctor . No sex since then.

You need a prescription for an antifungal agent so get over your fear of doctors or if that’s not possible, go to the aisle in your local drugstore that has medications for female yeast infections. Talk to the pharmacist about which ones are safe to use on your own anatomy. But you really do need to see a doctor…maybe it’s not yeast. Without a culture you have no idea.

i dont have any cloves of garlic to treat this yeast infection…would garlic powder diluted in water used as a douche work?

According to my cousin who is next to me and is a gynocologist he says no. He says in order to cure yeast infection with the garlic trick you must insert a garlic suppository. Carefully peel one clove of garlic. Wrap in gauze and insert into the vagina. Leave in for up to twelve hours. Repeat as necessary. It also helps to eat a lot of garlic or the easy way get over the counter medicines, ask a pharmacist.

To the guys before me, yes yeast infection sounds bad but over 80% of women get it in their lifetimes, so its quite common.
