my doctor said i had some signs of a slight yeast infection and she gave me a single pill for yeast infection..i am not late on my period i still have 3 days but a week ago i got all the symptoms of getting my period but they went away..

can anyone help??

thanks

it was probably just a short period and theres no reason to worry

ok, this is sort of embarassing, but i’ve had a yeast infection for a while now, and i dont know how to treat it. can someone tell me an effective way to treat it and get rid of it?

How do you know that it is a yeast infection?
Presumably you already have tried self treatment or you would not be asking the Q
I suggest that you see your doctor for confirmation and if necessary swabs.also it maybe necessary to exclude diabetes. it would be useful to know your age/on pill/children etc and sexual history

More likely to get fungus if pregnant/on pill/diabetic

Is there any chance that you have a STD? but think/hope that it is a yeast infection and not any thing else

Assuming that it is a fungus infection
1)no bath salts/oils/bubble bath/perfumed soap/vaginal deodorants etc They remove natural protection
2)cotton underwear
3)nystatin cream /pessaries-also cream under foreskin of partner
4)Diflucan-fluconazole by mouth would clear bowel of yeast as bowel can often be a source of reinfection-available over the counter UK

Two nights ago, I used the Canesten vaginal tablet to treat a yeast infection. I know that you can have sex after the treatment but it reduces the effectiveness of condoms/spermicide, which is the method that my boyfriend and I use. If we have intercourse this upcoming Friday (March 13), will the condoms still be less effective? If so, when will they be as effective again? Thanks

They say to wait at least 1 week before having sex again after having a yeast infection and treatments. You could have sex using just the condom, it will be effective but I am not so sure about the spermicide.

Best oral and topical medications for this.

Go to doctor and he/she will either prescribe you something or recommend something.

Can anyone recommend a recipe book or website for a yeast/sugar/gluten/lactose-free diet?

I am on a yeast free, sugar-free, lactose-free diet and use this website for recipes:

http://www.elanaspantry.com

It is really not as challenging to be on this diet as it appears and eating can still be quite an adventure.

Good luck and hope this helps!

I had a vaginal yeast infection and my gyn gave me Fluconazole for it. I started getting little white spots on my throat about the same time I got my yeast infection can my vaginal yeast infection have caused them?

It sounds like thrush, are the spots occurring on the tongue as well? Do you have any other symptoms besides the vaginal yeast infection?

Make sure not to let this get out of hand, because it seems like it may be spreading through your system. I would begin to notice any other symptoms that seem unusual, you can take online Candida and Yeast Infection Tests as well to determine if you are indeed developing a systemic Candida infection.

My brittney spaniel went to the vet a week and a half ago and found out he had a yeast infection in his ears well we have been putting drops in them and they look good as new! How do I stop it from happening again he really needs a bath but I am afraid his ears are going to get infected again and around his ears is oily because of the drops how do I clean them?

OK, did anyone else laugh really hard when they read the title of this question? :) heehee! Ok, now to be mature… Well, you are never going to completely be able to keep your dog from getting ear infections. Some characteristics that were bred in to specific breeds are functional in some regards but not always in others. The long ears are always going to trap moisture whether from a bath or from dew on the grass or moisture in the air. Knowing this just keep an eye on the ears use a good ear wash at least once weekly and you should do fine! :)

The best thing for a yeast infection is plain yogurt, no fruit or flavoured, just plain. You should eat alot of it, and in a few days the yeast infection should go away. Also, if you don’t like yogurt or are lactose intolerant, you can buy Yogurt capsules instead.
Another great thing to try is Acidophillus capsules, these also work wonders for yeast infections, take 3 capsules a day when you have the infection, and 1 capsule a day a day for prevention.

Hope this helps, and I hope you feel better soon.

You need to see a doctor and ask for a oral medication called Diflucan 150mg. It is one pill that you take by mouth and it should knock out the infection. If not, you may need to take another dose of one pill 3-4 days after the first one. You can easily pass yeast from person to person, but there is usually an underlying cause for the infection. If you are immunocompromised, have just finished a round of strong antibiotic, or wear some form of oral appliance you will be prone to catching a yeast infection. You just need to figure out how you got it so that you can avoid getting it again. Good-luck!

I took some yeast infection medicine early monday morning (around 2 AM) and today I had sex (around 3PM). The instructions said something about not having sex because it can weaken a condom, but it didn’t give specifics on how long to wait. What are the chances it weakened the condom today?

i think you should be good! it has been about 36 hours…. i hope you have showered and all that good stuff so i think the medicine has worked its way to where it had to go and your condom should be good…
