Is it possible to have multiple diabetic symptoms but not actually be diabetic?

Some of the common ‘early warning’ signs of diabetes are:
> Excessive hunger and/or thirst
> Frequent urination
> Constant fatigue
> Unusual irritability &/or mood swings

Other, possible symptoms of diabetes are:
> Blurred vision
> Numbness &/or tingling in the hands & feet
> Slow healing of minor scratches & wounds
> Dry or itchy skin
> In women, recurrent or hard-to-treat yeast infections

(read more at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diabetes & http://www.diabetes.org/home.jsp )

Overall, the available diabetes awareness literature consistently warns that experiencing any of these symptoms on a regular basis may indicate untreated diabetes, but many of these symptoms could also be related to other causes.

So, can anyone suggest any examples of other, non-diabetic conditions which present diabetes-like symptoms?

Put another way, does anyone know of any diseases that may “act” like diabetes, but aren’t?

Thanks in advance & good health to you all…

It is true that many of these symptoms do cross over other conditions, but when ‘all of these symptoms’ are combined, they do indicate diabetes.

Itchy dry skin, constant fatigue, increased yeast infections and mood swings, could be related to menopause due to decrease in hormones, but without the other symptoms you have mentioned.

If you have these symptoms you mentioned then please have yourself checked for diabetes, and then let the doctor work through the symptoms to find the cause.

Self-Care To Prevent Yeast Infection

1. Foods to avoid

Some foods encourage yeast growth such as alcohol, caffeine, junk foods, processed foods, sugar, products containing wheat and white flour, margarine, milk and dairy products.

2. Personal Care

a. Refrain from sharing common bath area such as pools, baths and other public areas where full immersion takes place. This is so as to avoid exposure.

b. Use a condom during sexual intercourse. Remember to read the label and avoid those with nonoxynol-9 lubricant.

c. Cut down on usage of personal care products such that carry a scent like perfumes, sanitary pads, body sprays and tampons as they destroy the good bacteria that kills yeast.

d. Avoid wearing tight clothing and undergarment as they are poor ventilators of body heat. A warm and moist environment encourages yeast infection to spread. Switch to cotton clothing if you can.

Useful Natural Yeast Infection Remedies

1. Garlic

Garlic has strong antifungal properties and is a natural yeast killer. Wrap the garlic in either a piece of cheesecloth or gauze and insert the small pouch into the infected vagina overnight. The infection would die after a few applications. But make sure you are not allergic to garlic.

2. Yoghurt

Yoghurt has many uses other for consumption as a health snack. One of them is to eradicate yeast. It contains lactobacillus acidophilus which produces hydrogen peroxide, an antibacterial. Use plain, non-sugared yoghurt as a topical medication on the infected vulva and vagina for healing. Eating yoghurt also helps!

3. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil has been used widely in some parts of the world. It is recognized as one of the best natural yeast infection remedies. Using a tampon coated with a lubricant before adding a few drops of tea tree oil, it becomes a potent yeast infection cure.

Hormonal changes do have a lasting effect on the occurrence of yeast infection. Scientifically, yeast is referred to as Candida.  This specific fungus that is responsible for vaginitis is known as Candida albicans. Yeast is seen in areas of warmth and moisture on the human skin, such as the mouth and vagina. Around 25% percent of all healthy women do have vaginal yeast present in their bodies.

Factors affecting yeast infection:

There are many factors leading to yeast infection in women. One of the primary factors for vaginal swelling, discharge or itching is mainly due to yeast infection. While the use of antibiotics and steroids result in this condition, other factors cannot be ruled out.  Yeast infection may also be caused owing to diabetes, pregnancy, menstruation, diet or taking of birth control pills. A weakened immune system after the treatment due to cancer can also lead to yeast infection. Yeast infection is also caused in some women after menopause.

How do hormonal changes affect yeast infection?

One becomes more susceptible to yeast infections when certain hormones are released especially during pregnancy, ovulation or menstruation. Though there are no visible signs of direct links to certain hormonal periods, yeast infections are definitely susceptible during hormonal alterations.  Some of the main causes are:

The effect of Cortisol:

When a person is in stress, the adrenals produce an anti inflammatory hormone named cortisol. This hormone does the function of breaking down different tissues to release sugar, proteins and other nutrients so that muscles and organs working during stress are nourished. Dhea is secreted in order to balance the Cortisol. When Dhea is released, the Cortisol release is slowed down and tissues are built back. The longer the stress continues, so will the Cortisol be released. This will lower the immune system as well as raise blood sugar.  This further result in increase of Candida. The hormone Cortisol may sometimes kill friendly bacteria and those that give protection against Candida.  It is also known to raise blood sugar levels.

Progesterone and Estrogen

Hormone therapy often causes vaginal yeast infections in women. The most important of them is the estrogen therapy. Any imbalance between estrogen and another hormone namely progesterone could lead to causing Candida. This leads to have a negative effect on the friendly and protective bacteria. As a result the Candida tends to overgrow.  Thus both of these hormones, whether in excess or not in balance with each other, will have a direct effect on causing of Candida to thrive and destroying the protective friendly bacteria.

Many factors can cause yeast infection in a person but hormonal changes inside a woman’s body is the primary factor that leads to yeast infection.

Does anyone know if probiotics or if there’s some other natural remedy will cure a yeast infection?

I think I read somewhere that probiotics can cure and prevent yeast infections? Is this true? I have some at home called Primal Defense Ultra from Garden of Life. I bought em recently to help with some digestive issues. I haven’t started to take them yet, but was wondering if anyone knows if probiotics actually cure and/or prevent yeast infections.

Kevin Trudeau’s Book called Natural Cures they Dont Want You To Know About addresses this issue, but off the top of my head, I dont have another answer for you.

Freshly applying yogurt yeast infection remedy is found to be the best way to get the yogurt where you need it when you need it, but it can be very messy. The way to go about applying yogurt yeast infection remedy is to coat the outer lips or the labia, the vulva, and inside the vagina with the yogurt. To insert yogurt yeast infection remedy into the vagina you might want to use a speculum. You will find that you get immediate relief from the itching and the burning sensation.

However, and this applies for the yogurt yeast infection remedy where you need to introduce the yogurt into the vagina, don’t keep the yogurt for a long period of time. This can irritate you as much as not having applied the yogurt yeast infection remedy in the first place. So be sure to wash it off after it’s done its job and apply a new coating only when you need it.

Yogurt Tampon is simply what it says it is. All you need to do is take a tub of the unsweetened yogurt yeast infection remedy and dip a tampon into it. Then you can insert the yogurt yeast infection remedy covered tampon into your vagina for instant relief. Don’t keep this yogurt tampon in too long however as any good effects will be wiped out and you might find yourself back to square one.

Frozen tampon applicator is an ingenuous method of getting the yogurt yeast infection remedy where it should be without having to resort to the use of a speculum. Take a plastic tampon applicator and fill it with yogurt yeast infection remedy. Freeze it until the yogurt has turned solid and then insert into the vagina. The sensation will be immensely cooling especially at first, but it makes applying the yogurt yeast infection remedy into your vagina much easier and less cumbersome. Besides which, there’s not even one tenth of the mess to deal with, and you can freeze some of these in advance as well. Just make sure to keep it away from your other frozen goodies!

Frozen glove fingers is a variation on the theme of the frozen tampon applicator, but it works just as well. Take a disposable glove and fill each finger with the yogurt yeast infection remedy. Freeze and take out and use as needed. One thing that you might want to be careful of when using any of these methods where you’re inserting yogurt yeast infection remedy into the vagina, is that you might find yourself dripping when the yogurt starts to melt! So you might want to wear a pad or a panty liner until your remedy is finished.

Some people have used syringes without needles method of getting the yogurt yeast infection remedy into the vagina with great effect. Take a syringe – without a needle of course – and fill with yogurt yeast infection remedy. Sit with your legs spread wide apart and placing the business end of the syringe into the mouth of your vagina, squirt the yogurt inside.

Eating yogurt is also a good yogurt yeast infection remedy, but more to the point it’s a good way to prevent a yeast infection. While just eating the yogurt won’t give you the properties of the acidophilus when and where you need it immediately, it can help by building up and maintaining healthy levels of the acidophilus when you don’t have a yeast infection. In this way it can help to prevent yeast infections from occurring in the first place.

I’ve had a yeast infection for three years straight Part Two!!?

Okay, thanks everyone for the advice, but I have one more question before I actually start this natural treatment to cure my yeast infection. Is it actually safe for me to be taking Acidophilus capsules plus Caprylic Acid and use RePhresh as well as eating yogurt?

Would all of this harm my body in some way?

Because too much of something (even if it’s good) can harm someone, right?

ALSO.

I have the discharge symptoms, I have the hurting during sex symptom, I have itching when the discharge gets bad, the discharge does smell like yeast, I’ve been having digestive problems and I took the spit test and my spit looked weird like spiderwebs.

But if I do all of this and don’t have a yeast infection what will happen to me? Although I’m pretty sure I do because my gyno did lab tests and said I had one and then tried to say 2 months later that it went away but I still have the symptoms.

What do you think?

it looks like you have yeast infection and you must get rid of it as soon as it is possible!!!

if you really want to get rid of yeast infection forever then you must follow these tips:

1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

3) Decrease or eliminate sugar and sugary foods. Sugar promotes yeast growth.

4) Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent.

5) Try gentian violet. It’s a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found in pharmacies. Swab the area with it once or twice a day. Make sure to use a thick pad – it stains everything.

6) Use an herbal douche. Combine equal amounts of sage, raspberry and comfrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. This can be combined with cider vinegar.

7) You must use herbal treatment. In that case Yeastrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of yeast infection comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that it wont reappear again!
And of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly). For me it worked very fast + I dont get yeast infections anymore…

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Yeastrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.yeastrol.com/?aid=221781

good luck!

Yeast infection?

two days now itching and swelling. Thought it was Urinary Tract Infection so I am on antibiotics but now i dont think its that. Started using Monistat 3 today and everything was okay but white discharge is now yellow discharge? Is this a yeast infection?

You need to see a ob/gyn. It can be many things. Like a Bacterial vaginosis or an STD. Since you were probably experiencing painful urination, you really need to see a doctor. Don’t be scared, but don’t wait until the antibiotics are done before you go.
