Monistat 7, during pregnancy?

i went to the doctors today for my first check up, im 5 weeks pregnant & have a horrible yeast infection! they told me to go out and buy monistat 7 i’ve been looking up things online and i guess its not good for being in your 1st trimester during pregnancy’s I’m just worried and need options

omgsh me too! I am 5 weeks preg and was on antibiotics before I found out, so we stopped them of course, but I still got a yeast infection, not a terrible one at all but i know it’s there so I called my OBGYN and she told me to use it externally only, so this will by third night doing that, and so far it has been working slowly but we will see… you could try that to see if it helps out any if you are unsure about using it internally…I did alot of research on it to , and most sights say dont use until 2nd trimester….but its your DR’s call….Its so scary right?!?!? You want to help the infection but then you are like omg I would never want to risk my pregnancy on this! lol! This is going to be a fun nine months! lol! Gl though and I hope you get some relief!

Are these symptoms of early pregnancy??

Spotting, stomach cramps, bloating, extreme fatigue, backaches, early morning headaches, always cold, hungry, strange pelvic feeling, and a yeast infection???

You seem absolutely normal to me.

Early Signs of Pregnancy

Pregnancy symptoms differ from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy; however, one of the most significant pregnancy symptoms is a delayed or missed menstrual cycle. Understanding the signs and symptoms of pregnancy is important because each symptom may be related to something other than pregnancy. Some women experience signs or symptoms of pregnancy within a week of conception. For other women, pregnancy symptoms may develop over a few weeks or may not be present at all. Below is a listing of some of the most common pregnancy signs symptoms. If you have been sexually active and experiencing any of the following symptoms it is important to take a pregnancy test.

Implantation Bleeding:
Implantation bleeding can be one of the earliest pregnancy symptoms. About 6-12 days after conception, the embryo implants itself into the uterine wall. Some women will experience spotting as well as some cramping.

Other Explanations: Actual menstruation, altered menstruation, changes in birth control pill, infection, or abrasion from intercourse.

Delay/Difference in Menstruation:
A delayed or missed menstruation is the most common pregnancy symptom leading a woman to test for pregnancy. When you become pregnant, your next period should be missed. Many women can bleed while they are pregnant, but typically the bleeding will be shorter or lighter than a normal period.

Other Explanations: Excessive weight gain/loss, fatigue, hormonal problems, tension, stress, ceasing to take the birth control pill, or breast-feeding.

Swollen/Tender Breasts:
Swollen or tender breasts is a pregnancy symptom which may begin as early as 1-2 weeks after conception. Women may notice changes in their breasts; they may be tender to the touch, sore, or swollen.

Other Explanations: Hormonal imbalance, birth control pills, impending menstruation (PMS) can also cause your breasts to be swollen or tender.

Fatigue/Tiredness:
Feeling fatigued or more tired is a pregnancy symptom which can also start as early as the first week after conception.

Other Explanations: Stress, exhaustion, depression, common cold or flu, or other illnesses can also leave you feeling tired or fatigued.

Nausea/Morning Sickness:
This well-known pregnancy symptom will often show up between 2-8 weeks after conception. Some women are fortunate to not deal with morning sickness at all, while others will feel nauseous throughout most of their pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Food poisoning, stress, or other stomach disorders can also cause you to feel queasy.

Backaches:
Lower backaches may be a symptom that occurs early in pregnancy; however, it is common to experience a dull backache throughout an entire pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Impending menstruation, stress, other back problems, and physical or mental strains.

Headaches:
The sudden rise of hormones in your body can cause you to have headaches early in pregnancy.

Other Explanations: Dehydration, caffeine withdrawal, impending menstruation, eye strain, or other ailments can be the source of frequent or chronic headaches.

Frequent Urination:
Around 6-8 weeks after conception, you may find yourself making a few extra trips to the bathroom.

Other Explanations: Urinary tract infection, diabetes, increasing liquid intake, or taking excessive diuretics.

Darkening of Areolas:
If you are pregnant, the skin around your nipples may get darker.

Other Explanations: Hormonal imbalance unrelated to pregnancy or may be a leftover effect from a previous pregnancy.

Food Cravings:
While you may not have a strong desire to eat pickles and ice cream, many women will feel cravings for certain foods when they are pregnant. This can last throughout your entire pregnancy.

yeast infection description
pls help find me a picture to help figure out a yeast infection!!?

Hi.. I want a picture of the “cottage cheese” like discharge associated with a yeast infection. I understand the description, but this could mean a lot of different things. I would like a picture of this kind of discharge. (Sorry, I know it’s kind of a gross request.)

I fell like maaaybe i have this kind of discharge, but it might just be thick normal discharge (i’m past the egg white ovulation discharge part of my cycle), and i have no other symptoms other than the discharge.

Please help me find a picture! Thanks!

(Also, is it possible to have a yeast infection with no other symptoms other than a weird discharge?? If so, what is the problem anyway?)

Thanks all!

HI. Here is a picture. You can also have a whitish discharge that is normal. Around your fertile time (which you said you passed already) you have a clear strechy “egg like” discharge. As you pass your fertile time and get closer to your period this discharge changes to an offwhite and can be what you are describing…so i understand what you are saying. A yeast infection is gonna itch….no joke. So if you have itching…like where you feel like running to the bathroom and ripping your pants off (sorry) then its a yeast infection.

Read this from WebMD….and here is a site with some pictures on the second link

pH changes in your body can trigger a yeast infection. A GREAT remedy is cranberry tablets!! These can be found anywhere and mine are called cranactive….will help keep things in order.

Is it OK to masturbate while having a vaginal / yeast infection?

I’m not having sex for some time now but I am feeling like I want it so I plan to masturbate. I’ve had this yeast infection for about 11 days now, sometimes it “seems” to go away if I drink lots of fluids. Today I used the yogurt remedy and the smell and discomfort disappeared for awhile.

I was wondering if masturbating can complicate the infection. I am getting Monistat tomorrow, as I feel natural remedies are starting not to work for me.

i wouldnt because adding germs to the infection will only worsen it! it probably wont be a very pleasant feeling anyway!

Testicles / Hard Skin & Stinging?

OK – I’ve been trying to research this condition on the net and I’ve read everything from Herpes to Male Yeast Infection.

Two days ago I noticed that the skin covering my testicles was hard, like melted and dried wax. – At first I thought I hadn’t rinsed the soap from a shower and it had dried… so I sat in the tub and rinsed myself real good and everything was fine until an hour later and noticed the skin was harder than ever and beginning to peel.

Today this condition has become worse. The skin is red and even harder and is stinging. A bath helps but only for an hour or two.

Please help.

Thank you

Sound like it might be jock itch, go to the doc. Try using a antifugal cream or spray

If your not quite sure you have a yeast infection and you use Monistat Day or Night Ovule will it hurt you?

I have heard that the Monistat burns really bad. Any commits on that? I don’t have insurance so going to the Dr. is way to expensive. The last time I was check it cost almost $300!

Try buying Vagisil cream, It’s not as invasive as using Monistat.
Best guess is go to Web MD. I use that site for health questions all the time
