How to Treat Yeast Infection Archives

I’m going to use this reccomended remedy, but how long do I have to do it for?

Thanks!

You could always buy the yeast infection medication (suppositories) that they sell in drug stores. They are meant for curing yeast infections so they may work better, and potentially be less messy.

I think i have a yeast infection but not sure i have no symptoms other than alot of cottage cheese like discharge. i know it is not an std because my boyfriend and i have only been with each other. i was wondering if it is ok to home-treat it with like monistat 3 or is it bad to treat it since im not sure if its a yeast infection?
I think i have a yeast infection but not sure i have no symptoms other than alot of cottage cheese like discharge for the past 2 months. i know it is not an std because my boyfriend and i have only been with each other. i was wondering if it is ok to home-treat it with like monistat 3 or is it bad to treat it since im not sure if its a yeast infection?

I believe Monistat has this new kit where it takes a sample and then tells you if it is a yeast infection or if it is something worse. You should try it. You only have about $8 to lose.

do you have recomendations how to treat mouth yeast infection with natural remedies?

I would suggest two things. First, use a little hydrogen peroxide, swish it around in your mouth. Then use your tooth brush on your tounge and gums (before rinsing) then rinse with water. This will break up and pentrate the worst of the coating.

The second part is aimed more at the heart of the issue. Why did you get the yeast infection in the first place. As mentioned in one of the posts above – this is an issue with your digestive system. You should take some probiotics. These are basicly the good bacteria that are in your stomache. They help your body battle back to overcome the yeast. (These types of infections are very common in conjunction with or after antibiotic usage.) For the probiotic the best thing is a powder as opposed to a pill. If you swallow a pill it all goes to your stomahce. With a powder it begins working in your mouth and down your entire digestive track as opposed to starting with your stomache. (which is what you want if the issue is in your mouth.) You want to get it from a good health food store as opposed to the supermarket or a gnc type place.

How to treat a jock itch or a Yeast Infection that I might have passed on to my husband?
I have a Yeast In fection and I might have passed it on to my husband while having sex so I wanted to know how a guy treats a Yeast infection or a Jock Itch since thats what I have heard is called for a guy???

yeast is different than jock itch, but sometimes people call it that, probably because it sounds more manly

you treat yeast infections in men the same way you treat them in women by eliminating the excess candida (yeast) in your body

….without going to the doctors? is it gonna go away if i clean that area more? thanks
my infection is on my groin area, and what’s hygiene?

wash with a non-detergent soap like ivory soap and then apply blue star creme

I’ve had this yeast infection for a long time. My gynecologist gave me a pill for it, but it didn’t work. I tried a suppository and that didn’t work either. I’m sick of this! Also, my yeast infection spread to my boyfriend. Is there a way to cure this never ending thing?!? And is there something that my boyfriend can be treated with as well?

My OB/GYN doctor suggestion to me–Use PLAIN yogurt (no fruit) You need to get a vaginal applicator (I asked my pharmacist for ones), fill with yogurt and put into the vagina. Leave in all night. It worked. Do this for a few days–maybe a week?? Don’t remember. Might work for a penis also??? Sorry to be so explicit if you know all of this.

I’ve read that you should never take an over-the-counter treatment, like Monistat 7, if you have never had a yeast infection or been diagnosed by your doctor. But is it really dangerous? I have the symptoms and want to treat it without a doctor. Does anyone have experience with this? I’d like to hear what you did and how it worked, and if you know how safe it is. I want to know if seeing a doctor first is just a precaution or if it’s really a danger if you self-treat with an OTC medication.

Sometimes other infections have the same symptoms as a yeast infection. Seeing your doctor is not just a precaution because they can determine if it is indeed a yeast infection or something else. It really isn’t "dangerous" to treat with an OTC med, but if it isn’t a yeast infection the medication won’t help you. It is best to make an appointment with your doc to be sure.

How long does it take to get back to normal it is a 100 mg tablet and the Dr. gave me a 3 day course. I am soo anxious to get back to normal.

When I get Diflucan it is generally 1 Tablet. That takes care of the Yeast infection. Look up your dosage, if you need to take a 3 Day regimen then that is why you have 3 tablets.and you take one for 3 days If you are still uncertain, call your Doctor and they should be able to clarify this for you. The other option is to call your Pharmacist

Um im 14 years old and i think i have yeast infection but i don’t want to say anything because i don’t want my business out and i know my moms going to share it with her friends and my family so how long can i go without treating it. The only reason i ask is because ya know im only 14 i can’t go drive myself to go get some med. or cream without my parents knowing…..

Yeast is not one of the types of infections that can cause damage if left untreated. The worst that can happen is that you will be VERY UNCOMFORTABLE! It can itch and burn llike nothing else!

I know what you mean about your mom. Mine was the same exact way and I didn’t tell her anything! Maybe…you could just tell your mom you are having really bad belly pain? bad belly pain with your period? just "pain down there" and you need to go to the doctor? Just tell her whatever, be vague, it won’t matter. Just get to the doctor. You can tell your mom you are embarassed and that you want to see the Dr. alone. The Dr. is obligated to keep everything confidential. They can give you treatment.

good luck

what is a way u can treat a bacterial infection by yourself, at home?
what about a yeast infection?

For a yeast infection:

Take acidophilus (you can find it over the counter at any pharmacy; and make sure you keep it refrigerated) or yogurt (which contains acidophilus and other good bacteria), douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water (repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week), decrease sugar intake, and if you’re sexually active, use a condom until clear and have your partner treated (because he may carry the bacteria and give the infection back). In addition to this, use any OTC yeast infection remedy at your pharmacy.

For a bacterial Infection:

You can try the above, but chances are you’ll end-up needing antibiotics to clear up the infection.
