Male Yeast Infections Archives

My daughter (4) has a yeast infection & I just noticed a few little red bumps (very small) on my sons penis. I called his doctor who said to use my daughters anti fungal cream and she would see him next week when she gets back into town. She sais yeast infections can easily transfer back & forth between little children. I am just a bit consierned as she has not seen him. If any one knows what a yeat infection looks like on a infant male or knows of a link to a image I would so appreciate it. Also if your child had one at a young age did the anti fungal cream work? Thanks for all your help!

Concerned mom

It is very common. I found this link, maybe it will help.

No

is it something to be worried about? he’s been prescribed diflucan, but his foreskin is usually really easy to retract. now it’s hard to retract and sore. help? will it always be this way, and does he need to be circumcised?

Circumcision should be the LAST resort in this day and age. There are stretching techniques available and also steroid creams to help loosen the skin. Get him to see a doctor.

Well no. If you go to a Dc they can but if you have discharge that’s not the right color are it stings when you pee.

Because i think i have a yeast infection, but it seems to be going away?Is that even possible?Im almost 100% sure its not herpes because i dont have any of the syptoms of herpes other than i do have red bumps that are scabbing, but could that just be the yeast infection going away?

I havent had sex yet NO NOT EVEN ORAL SEX.

Thank You
not all of them are scabbing btw just a few.

I have had yeast infections but never with bumps. You need to have it looked at by a Doc because even if your symptoms leave, it may be something you need to deal with. I find it VERY hard to believe it is an STD if you are not sexually active. There are so many things it could be, are you diabetic, is it yeast, you really need a pro to put this to rest in your mind, and keep your body healthy.

If the child is uncircumsised?

A anti-yeast ointment as others have suggested. But DO NOT PUSH THE FORESKIN BACK! As the previous poster recommends. It can lead to tears that can become infected. Only the owner of the foreskin should ever retract it!

A yeast infection is a yeast infection and should be treated the same way in an intact boy as in an intact girl.

Well, you’ll nedto use it for two weeks, keep it dry and abstain from ejaculation and sex for 6 weks. It’s not fun but it’ll help your skin and nervous system.

Does Monistat 7-day work as a topical treatment for males?

If so, how long should it be applied and how often?

If not, what other treatment(s) works?

Thanks a lot.
Sorry, not THRUSH. Just the Penile Infection.

Typically a yeast infection is treated with Flucanozole or something similar (it is an oral med) in men… The cream probably will not work…

Best oral and topical medications for this.

Go to doctor and he/she will either prescribe you something or recommend something.

I need to nkow the symptoms of male yeast infections AND the source you got it from.

Males sometimes get an overgrowth of yeast under the foreskin. Symptoms are usually redness and itching, sometimes a whitish thick collection and splitting of the skin if it’s bad.

Yeast overgrowths are not contagious. Everyone has small amounts of yeast on their skin, especially in moist places, as well as in the bowel, mouth and vagina. It can get out of balance with the other bugs for a variety of reasons like taking antibiotics, hormonal changes or excess moisture.
