Male Yeast Infections Archives

I was wondering seeing as how they are both fungal infections…let me know please!

No, for they are two different things

I recently had a yeast infection and before I got really harsh symptoms I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend.

He hasn’t had any symptoms of a yeast infection but I’m afraid he still might have one. Is it possible to have a yeast infection and not any symptoms? he itches sometimes but it’s just from shaving and what not.

what should I do?

well it wouldn’t hurt to give him a tube of monistat and apply to penis for a few days.

i am ignorant and i dont know ..? be kind to answer

No…they are totally different things. God..you think the "nurse" would know this one. Jock itch and athletes foot are the same, they are fungal infections. Yeast infections are just that. And both require totally different medications…..

What goes on when the male gets it, and how do they treat it?

Yeast infection symptoms include severe burning, itching, irritation, and a whitish-gray discharge. The most common is perhaps the vaginal yeast infection, which can additionally be accompanied by the redness, inflammation of the vulvar skin, painful urination and sexual intercourse, and a discharge often smelling like bread or beer, which can range from thick and clumpy to clear and thin.

Here is a guide on male yeast infection and symptoms of yeast infection.

I hope it will help you

My recently new boyfriend woke up this morning with spots on his penis and itching. He went to the doctor and he said it is most likely a yeast infection but took an STD test just incase. We wont get the results for a few days but I’m worried. He is uncircumcised so yeast infections are very possible but I don’t have one. Is it possible for him to get a yeast infection even if I dont have one?

Good for him for going to his doc and getting tested.

It definitely could be a yeast infection (or an STI.) And you could pass whatever it is back and forth between you if you’re having unprotected sex.

Once you know what it is, you should be tested just to make sure you’re not infected (lots of times, women don’t show symptoms of STIs.) It is best that you two be extra careful – that means using condoms properly every time you have sex – or that you refrain from intercourse altogether until you both have a clean bill of health.

My boyfriend has a yeast infection, and it hasn’t gone away with the over the counter cream he has. It’s been there for about a month, not getting any better. He doesn’t have the money to go to the doctor to get prescription cream.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have some leftover perscription Lotrisone cream from a yeast infection a while ago. Would this work on him, or is that only for women?

well to avoid another one, tell him to wash properly in the shower and to dry well, drying is very important

and tell him to take the pills or whatever so that it goes away quicker

I am afflicted with a male yeast infection, I’ve avoided treatment simply because it seems very painful considering the area is VERY tender I was wondering how painful is treating a male yeast infection (using 1 % Clotrimazole) on a pain scale from 1-10, and possibly some suggestions of less painful treatments and PLEASE NO INSULTS it is as humiliating as it is irritating
thank you very much for replying, just wondering if it did burn afterward or maybe just a warming sensation? I don’t know but it was painful for me, but I assume that’s not the case with everyone but, since it did happen, is it normal? and also will urinating afterward lessen the effect?

the cream actually makes it feel a lot better. not painful at all.

i disagree with the previous answer. if you’re uncut, yeast infections are VERY easy to get, and hard as hell to get rid of. the short answer is yes–some monistat should take care of it. just be aware that every time you get a yeast infection, that there’s a little scarring that occurs on the inner mucosa of your foreskin. if you get too many infections, getting circ’d may be the only answer.

In the last 2 days, my bf was complaining his penis was a little irritated. We didn’t think much of it because we figured it was the soap, which was a problem in the past. But just today, I come to the realization that I have a yeast infection. I bought the Monistat and used it asap. I already feel better and will continue with treatment. My question is how is a male yeast infection treated? Besides not having sex.
Any and all answers are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

male yeast infections are mostly an issue of hygiene… the infection usually grows under the foreskin and can be washed off,,, with a antibacterial soap would be best…

Candida albicans (yeast infection) is a yeast found on human skin surfaces and mucous membranes, specifically around the areas of the mouth, penis, and rectum. While the presence of this yeast on the human body is absolutely normal, problems can occur when it multiplies and essentially grows out of control.

Well, the yeast infection is a condition that many females and males are too familiar with. Uncomfortable and irritating, many men and women suffer from this infection in which there is an intense burning and/or itching sensation, accompanied by a whitish or yellowish discharge from the infected area. Furthermore, many men and women will suffer through multiple infections throughout their lifetime.
