Right, well im a 16 year old male and Ive been experiencing pain in the bottom part of both of my testicles for about a month now, but at the same time i discovered this i found out that i had a few of the symptoms for oral yeast infection and penile yeast infection. I had found white substance which cannot be scraped away and can sometimes be itchy on my tongue and to roof of my mouth, I also found that my penis head had become quite dry and there was a white substance coming off of it when i rubbed the on or underneath the head of my penis and the head of my penis is also quite inflamed and discolored …..on thing that puzzles me is that there is no itching, could it still be a yeast infection? and i have been on multiple trips to my gp and he says he doesn’t know about the testicle pain….so i was just wondering if yeast infection can cause testicle pain? thanks help would be much appreciated.

6 hours and no answers huh? well hope this helps, I suggest you go see a doctor but here is a link that might help since no one else responded

Im 21 years old male and i have a penile yeast infection that i cant get rid of. I’ve had it for 16months now and it reoccurs very often. I got infected through unprotected sex with a female. I started useing canesten 5 months after initial infection and that didnt do anything. Then the doctor gave me ketoderm to apply once for 2-4 weeks and that works but the yeast infection symptoms reoccur around 7+ days after i stop useing it especially red blemishes on the penis head. I have not been on any antibiotics. I have been drinking alcohol on a weekend basis and it seems that can be feeding the infection. I am uncircumcised and i would like some advice on treating this further because its getin to the point where its affecting my mental state and everyday life. Any adivice on diet or other remmedies would be great. thanks
Thank you everyone for the feedback, its amazing how fast you all replyed. After first sign of symptoms about 5months after intercourse I had a bloodtest taken for STDs and they didnt get back to me so im guessin i dont have genitial herpes. I spoke with the female i had sex with after my first symptoms and she had been to the doctor and was diagonosed with a yeast infection. My doctor however never did any tests im guessing assumed it was one according to my symptoms and my story. I havnt had sex since and im dying to cure this dam yeast infection! I will try some of these methods and i hope it works! THank you all I will let you know my outcome soon

if you really want to get rid of yeast infection then you must follow these tips:

1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

3) Decrease or eliminate sugar and sugary foods. Sugar promotes yeast growth.

4) Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent.

5) Try gentian violet. It’s a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found in pharmacies. Swab the area with it once or twice a day. Make sure to use a thick pad – it stains everything.

6) Use an herbal douche. Combine equal amounts of sage, raspberry and comfrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. This can be combined with cider vinegar.

7) You must use herbal treatment. In that case Yeastrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of yeast infection comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that it wont reappear again!
And of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly). For me it worked very fast + I dont get yeast infections anymore…

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Yeastrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.mybeautynhealth.com/product/overview/Yeastrol/

good luck!

As a teenager coming from a highly religious family, I had to bargain to the bottom dollar to be able to date this girl who also comes from a very conservative family.

Her parents are nitwits and will simply not believe that the yeast infection is induced by antibiotics (been sick 5 times in the last 2 months). So its pretty pointless to say go to the doctor.

Now what do I do to treat this yeast infection, had it for about a month now and it hasn’t got any worse or better?

if you really want to get rid of yeast infection forever then you must follow these tips:

1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

I know treatment for women includes probiotics, but if it’s contracted second-hand, then could antibiotics have cured it for him? (His ex was a HUGE whore, so it may have been an std that I didn’t get, but still)

go for these home remedies.. though it is meant for women but it will work on men too.. All the best..

for about 2 weeks i’ve been getting these 2 spots on the shaft that are very red like. 1 time they bled. about 2 days ago i saw that the spots have spread to almost half my foreskin (im UC). today i wake up and have pain and this itch on my foreskin and this transperant like discharge has been going on for the whole day. last time i had sex was about a month ago with my girlfriend and she was on antibiotics. it was protected but the condom slightly came off for a second revealing some foreskin of mine to her. she said about 2 days later she had gotten a yeast infection. could i have one? what good treatments are there???

You certainly could. Buy some stuff for jock itch, and put it on twice a day, for two weeks.
Thoroughly wash it every night, before medicating.
Every time one partner has a yeast infection, you both should be treated.[ you will give it back and forth forever ].

Research, as cited below shows that the effect of circumcision is to increase the chances of many STDs being transmitted, while reducing the risk of very few. The frequently cited information about HIV transmission is not indicated to hold true in western nations, for various reasons.

"Recent studies have demonstrated that circumcised men are at increased risk of contracting gonorrhea, syphilis and genital warts. Men are at equal risk for developing human papillomavirus lesions and herpesvirus infections regardless of circumcision status. At least four studies have shown human immunodeficiency virus infection to occur more commonly in circumcised men"

– Storms MR. AAFP Fact Sheet on neonatal circumcision: a need for updating. Am Fam Physician 1996;54(4):1216-17.

further

"The only consistent trend is that uncircumcised males may be more susceptible to GUD, while circumcised men are more prone to urethritis. Currently, in developed nations, urethritis is more common than GUD [genital ulcer disease]. In summary, the medical literature does not support the theory that circumcision prevents STDs"

- Van Howe RS. Does circumcision influence sexually transmitted diseases?: A literature review. BJU Int 1999; 83, Suppl 1:52-62.

and

"Cross-sectional studies. Cross-sectional studies have been carried out in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia to determine the effects of circumcision upon STDs. All studies have found no significant effect of circumcision on the incidence of STD. Laumann et al. reported that circumcised men are slightly more likely to have both a bacterial and a viral STD in their lifetime. The British National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles reported that circumcised males have slightly more STDs but the difference was not judged to be statistically significant. Richters et al. found that non-circumcised men are slightly more likely to have penile candidiasis (yeast).

Conclusion. The evidence does not support non-therapeutic circumcision to prevent STD infection. On balance, non-circumcision is to be preferred because of the freedom from complications and other adverse effects."

Why do some insist Circumcision reduces the risk of STDs when research indicates otherwise?

Exactly it is well weird that loas of Americans get this done. Why on earth would you? There are mo benefits and everyone just does it cause everyone else is. I could never do thsis to my son as it is totally pointless and why would you want to cause them needless pain?

Man Ameircans get it done as they think it is cleaner (which it isnt). Its funny that I saw a programme on female circumscion and the women in Africa were doing it cause they thought it was cleaner on the girls! Even though we know thats ridiculous so whats the difference? Both lots of people have been brainwashed.

Hello. I’d like anyone with any input on any of this to please reply. My story is very long. I will condense it considerably.

BACKGROUND:
I am a 38 year old white male with fair skin of mostly Irish and Cherokee decent. Until last year, I’d say my health had been really great, and I have had little need for doctors or medicines over that period. I have gone to more doctors and more frequently in the past 6 months than I have the previous 37 years combined. The greatest health problem I have is genital herpes which I contracted Sep 01, 2002 (a day I’ll certainly never forget, and not fond memories). Apart from that my only other complaint is "piles," which I do not see a doctor for.

Prior to August 1997, I’d had 3 sexual partners in my life, and all activities apart from oral were protected, even though all 3 were in committed relationships. From August 1997 to August 2008, that number rose to somewhere around 50. Most with whom I had unprotected sex. All were heterosexual. I count myself very lucky and fortunate to have made it 11 years of living that way without contracting very dangerous and even deadly diseases. August 1997, I decided to give up sex, likely forever. After all, I think I have had enough for several lifetimes.

Since ~Sep 01, 2008 (about the same day of year as my HSV infection but 6 years later), I began itching profusely on my inner thighs very near my crotch. I immediately tried treating it at home as jock itch. When this failed I tried simply Hydrocortisone. I then tried Permethrin (for scabies, crabs, mites). I then tried Neosporin. I then tried Benadryl cream and pills. After all of these failed, I decided to go to the doc. I initially went to the GP that had years earlier diagnosed the HSV. She gave a 14 day course of TRIAMCINOLONE topically with Doxycycline orally for 2 weeks. After this failed, she told me to go see a urologist. I went to a urologist that had diagnosed me with phlebothrombitis of the penile vein a few years earlier from too rough of sex. That resolved about 2 weeks later. He said he had no clue. He told me to see a dermatologist. I went to a dermatologist that I’d seen a year earlier just out of curiosity about a funny little bump that had been in the center of my chest for ~8 years. It was totally painless and was only an object of curiosity. I think she said it was Lipoma and that nothing could be done about it. I was ok with that. By the time I’d gone to see the dermatologist, my entire scrotum, crotch and upper inner thighs were beet red. She took one look and diagnosed it as erythrasma which she treated with Vtyone (Iodoquinol+Hydrocortisone) topically and Azithromycin orally. This improved things considerably. After this 2 week or 10 day treatment, only my scrotum remained red and it merely burned instead of itching. The crotch and thighs looked fine. She didn’t schedule a follow-up. At the end of treatment, I called to inform her that my scrotum was still red and was burning. She couldn’t see me for ~3 weeks. Since by this time, I’d been wrestling with skin difficulties in this general region for nearly 3 months and since I had "great balls of fire," I went to another (new) GP (I’d never liked this lady who’d diagnosed me with HSV and who treated me with TRIAMCINOLONE+DOXYCYCLINE). She came across rude and apathetic and seemed to enjoy making me wait for no reason at all). I like the new GP, he is friendly and at least projects a caring image. He treated it as a male yeast infection with Diflucan orally and Ketaconazole topically.

Ok. I am getting longer and more detailed than I wished. Anyways, when the yeast infection treatment from the new GP failed, I called the dermatologist again. This time, oddly enough, she could see me the next day. She treated it as chronic jock itch with Oxicanozole (all these "zoles") topically. This failed. Holidays came. She couldn’t see me. I went to new GP again, he gave me a cream with betamethasone and clotrimazole. This didn’t help. After the holidays, I go see dermatologist again. She gives me PROTOPIC (She didn’t say much. She didn’t say why. She didn’t even inspect things.) I applied it immediately. 2 hours later I was LITERALLY in tears from pain (burning). By this time it was 6PM Friday. I wasn’t going to call her. I immediately washed the area. Washing was painful. After a few minutes the pain was still off the charts intense. I took 800 mg of Ibuprofen. A few minutes later, the pain was off the charts. I tried applying some Lidocaine cream. A few minutes later, the pain is still of the charts. It then dawns on me to try an ice pack. Within minutes the ice pack relieves the pain considerably, not completely. However, I find that the entire night until the wee hours of the morning I had to keep an ice pack on it to keep from balling my eyes out from pain. The next few days, the pain was back to manageable, but constant, as it was before
Hi Mags. Thanks for the response.I am thankful for anyone who takes the time to read my concern & attempts to provide insight.I have not checked those symptom checkers yet.I may do that soon.I had tried webmd’s version & healthnet’s.I even paid a dermatologist on that site to answer my question. As with my real doctors, he was useless. He suggested something like, "it may be a rash in the seborheic dermititis/eczema family" or something & suggested I try steroids.I’d already mentioned I’d tried 3 steroids. With regards to the Valtrex.Ever since my 1st outbreak,I have taken 1g daily for prevention & even 4g daily for one day for outbreaks.About 6 weeks ago, I resolved to take NOTHING at all, not even Valtrex or Tylenol or Clariton or a vitamin.I did so to see if perhaps I am experiencing a side effect that perhaps noone has ever experienced before.I now simply wash only once every 2 days & apply no lotions or powders. The rash has improved modertaely at best,if at all, since this post.

I’m not a doctor, nor have I had your symptoms.
I’m going to provide the links to some decent Symptom checkers:

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/symptom-checker/DS00671

This one allows you to enter the symptoms and combine them.

http://symptoms.wrongdiagnosis.com/

Here’s a third:

http://www.healthcentral.com/symptom-checker/

I think your docs aren’t putting the whole picture together.
You are on meds for HSV – could this be a side effect
Check side effects:

http://www.drugs.com/

http://www.rxlist.com/script/main/hp.asp

Could your primary symptoms: the rash or itching and the tinnitus be unrelated?

I’m sorry that I can’t help more but the window for answering is closing and I just noticed your question.

Try the symptom checkers – they might help. – Hope you’re feeling better by now.

This situation has me stumped, my nephew came to me because I am an RN. He apparently has a small series (2cm diameter) of bumps on the side of of penile shaft. They appear isolated and he claims to have some itching associated. I told him to put hydrocortisone crean on TID for two days and see if it is a rash. He is a 19 y/o male w/ two sex partners. He claims that his primary girlfriend has a problem with vaginal dryness during intercourse. NKDA – does not use a condom. Explain what condylomas and genital warts should look like, I havent examined any since my time in the Navy as a medic 10 years ago. He also claims they are itchy and painless. Almost appeared like ring worm appearance. What are your thoughts on yeast infection?
almost forgot he has not health insurance hence why he came to me first. Does planned parenthood help people like this out?

tell him to visit urologist, and if you suspect you got something to same, every male who has active sex with more than one partner or with partner who had more than one partners should have STDs test at least once a year, if male is found with STD he should tell his sex partners to have tests too, as healing only the one of the lovers does not work well.
as medic just tell him that visiting uroligist about STD is as normal as visiting GP about high fever
go with him if he is too shy to do so.

my fiance recently developed a rash on the shaft of his penis in the exact same spot every time we have sex. this started after i began using the nuvaring. could it be an allergic reaction that possibly got infected? he says it almost feels like a tear when we are having sex and the next day he gets a red rash looks almost like a sore. this never happened before (we have been together for over 3 years). He is freaking out because the dr said it was an std no question about it. but they didn’t even test him – i think it may be a yeast infection? I think i may have had one recetly – does this sound like anything anyone else has had?

If this only happens after you have sex (every time since you have started the nuva ring) I would guess it is a reaction to the nuva ring. I don’t know any STDs that only show themselves right after you have sex.

The doctor had no business telling him that it was "no question" an STD if he wasn’t going to perform the required testing.

I think you should start by getting yourself and your fiance tested for all STDs. If the tests are negative, then you have at least ruled it out and you can both relax.

The irritation could be caused by the friction of the nuva ring, or contact dermatitis from the material of the ring its self. It also could be a yeast infection. If he is negative for STDs then more investigation will have to be done by the doctor to determine the cause.

I would suggest going to another doctor, getting tested for all STD’s and possibly changing your birth control.
