Recurring Yeast Infections Archives

I’ve heard yogurt is the best way, eating it every day. So I have a couple questions? Which yogurt would be the most beneficial, or do any with live active cultures help?

Or should I buy acidophilus capsules? What’s a good brand.

Anyone have any luck with these products getting rid of recurring yeast infections?

Any yogurt with acidophilus in it works well. Problem with the capsules is that: 1) they can get expensive, and 2) many of them need refrigeration. I personally prefer the yogurt as I LOATHE taking a pill, PLUS, you get to eat a tasty, healthy snack!

Alright! So i have had a recurring yeast infection for over a year now. I have been to 3 different regular doctors. A infection doctor. A gynecologist. and a specialist doctor. Which all of them say all my levels everythings okay with me but they dont know why my yeast infection wont go away. i have tried monistat, diflucan, gynsing violet, boric acid, garlic, diet, no underwear, cranberry juice, bath with apple cider vinegar. I just feel like i am never going to get rid of them and the doctors dont know how to help me. Can someone please HELP ME!!!!

I am 19 years old. Please be respectful with your answers I don’t know what else to do and I am willing to try anything.

Thanks So much
And i am not diabetic, have aids, have a std, or anything like that i have been checked multiple times. I am also not having sex because it hurts to bad. and not worth the pain.
I dont have it on my feet, mouth or anywhere else. I think I am going to try the diet. Its seems like the only option for me. I really hope it works. I just get so frustrated and feel like its never going to go away. I have been having them off and on since i been 10. I have very very sensitive skin i dont know if that might be a possibility.
What do people think about sticking a garlic clove up there over night??? Believe that is safe??? Im still young and just dont want to ruin my chances to having kids.

I feel bad you have to go through with all that. I’ve also had recurring yeast infection for several years and tried everything. And OTC drugs and prescription drugs (diflucan) don’t work for me anymore.

Recently, I’ve tried the candida diet. No simple carbs and sugars for at least 4 weeks to 3 months. Yeah, it’s hard. No fruit either. No vinegar, soy sauce, wine, cheese, etc. You mostly eat protein such as beef, chicken, fish, etc. and lots and lots of vegetables except for potato and corn plus some whole grain. I’m sure you can get a detailed list on the web. This diet really worked for me. After the first week, I had no symptoms. I am still on it going on for about a month.

If you need immediate relief from yeast infection, try yeast arrest. It’s a homeopathic formula with boric acid and tea tree oil. It works for me.

The candida diet is difficult since you can’t have cake, ice cream, etc. but it works because you are starving the yeast in your body, eventually killing them. And the infection won’t come back.

It also helps to take Candidastat by Vitanica as a supplement while in the diet.

I had a yeast infection about 2 weeks ago and used Monistat 3. After the third day of treament i got my period. After that though i still sort of felt very slight itching. Now I am experiencing burning sensation when urinating and the area is red. Is it possible the infection didn’t go away in the first place and now is recurring again? Or maybe it’s time to panic?

It sounds like you have developed a urine infection, a common symptom of this is dysuria which is pain or burning when passing urine. Your urine is also usually cloudy and can have a strong odour. It can also be accompanied by abdo and back pain. I would suggest you to your Doctor and they can take urine sample and send it to a microbiology lab for testing. If you have urine infection and it is left untreated it Can develop into a kidney infection and these are very painful. I’ve just had one myself a few weeks ago. If you have an infection a course of antibiotics will fix it. Hope this helps.

recurring yeast infections. Im very scared to get tested. should i

Doesn’t mean u have HIV but you should get tested.

Helppppppp pleaseeeee…….. Have an allergy to diflucan, face breaks out in a rash and throat swells. I’m on steroids for adrenal insufficiency and inhaled steroids for asthma. On top of the basically normal monthly yeast infection (no rude comments) I’ve had oral thrush for months and months. Nystatin helped but didn’t get rid of it Amo B mouth washes (custom made) didn’t help… Finally doctors argued with me it wasn’t a fungal infection. Well i begged a doctor to culture it after months of it and well it is a fungus.. Now trying mycelex (sorry can’t spell) i’ve used them before, and had no reaction, but up till december i had no reaction to diflucan. I know there is a chance of an allergy but don’t know what else to do. Yogurt, probiotics make my stomach hurt like no tomorrow, garlic doesn’t help. regular mouth washes, peroxide diluted mouth washes do nothing, cleaning tounge leaves it too painful to even talk or eat. I’m soooooooooooo in dire need of help doctors are even clueles
Thanks to any helpful advice… anyone out there allergic to diflucan, severe actual allergies not just bad reactions…. It’s a rare allergy, but i am the unusal case in almost everything. i’m also alergic to codiene, loratab (vicodin), amoxicillin, spivara (all sent me to ER)..

i was getting monthly yeast infections and was tired of getting over the counter medicine because they stopped working.

I started douching with two little caps of hydrogen peroxide with two cups of water for like five days, yeast infection is gone. Make sure the hydrogen peroxide only has distilled water and peroxide no other ingredients. a bottle of hydrogen peroxide should not cost more than a dollar.

Ohh and I had a pap soon after and got a test for yeast infection and it came out clear. my ph balance was excellent too.

it seems that your immune system might be low, try to take some vitamin supplements and keep eating yogurt even if your stomach hurts, what do you prefer white toungue or stomach pain?

Have you used the capsules for a cure of recurring vaginal yeast infections? If so did it work and are there any side effects ? Also, any info on how men get treated for yeast infections or what otc medicine they can take to be sure they aren’t passing it back to you?

I haven’t tried boric acid, but garlic works well. So does the yogurt thing, except get a “good” yogurt with lots of live cultures and no sugar. You can also eat lots of yogurt or take acidophilus, and that will help.

After using creams, it goes away for only 1-2 days. I constantly have itches and/or white discharge. Tried avoid sugary foods, taking garlic pills too. It helps to lessen the itch and discharge without using creams. But I need a better solution that will end this forever.
The yeast infection gets worst (turn into yellow clumpy cheesy substance) if I take yogurt or drink milk. I never had this before until I took those Japanese bifidus pills several years ago. I didn’t know it at first, but noticed each time I take the bifidus pills, the yeast comes back until my asshole itches too. Sorry if this is too graphic.
Now I can’t eat chocolates or drink milk. Sometimes I eat a little chocolate or eat ice-cream just to satisfy my cravings but the itch n discharge will attack again within 6 hours. I’d switched to soy milk for now as it’s not as "powerful" (in terms of yeast attack) as cow’s milk but I still can’t drink it everyday as it contains sugar. I know only very few women get it as bad as I do n if any1 of those few women found out the best remedy for curing this, please teach me. Thanks.

I suggest all natural Optiflora. It’s a two-product system that includes Probiotic (Bifidus & Acidophilus…microflora) + Prebiotic (FOS…food source for microflora). Guaranteed delivery of 500 million microflora to intestines. Also the Prebiotic attacks overgrowth of yeast.

Maybe also consider changing your brand of garlic to Garlic Complex which will also destroy overgrowth of yeast.

Zinc Complex, Vita-C, & NutriFeron builds and strengthens immune system.

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions and if interested in the brand I suggest.

It started abt 1 mth after I became sexually active w my bf. I was given cream, oral medication n douche by the doc. It went away and came back again a few mths later. Between late 2007-now, I had 4-5 episodes of the infection. Doc’s med helps for a while but it always comes back. Creams can’t seem to get rid of it unless oral meds are involved. We’ve tried using condoms, not using condoms, either way I will get an infection. I tried eating more yoghurt, garlic etc. No help. I started taking acidophilus capsules recently, not sure if it will work.

My concern is why is it recurring. There has to be an underlying cause for it, which I cannot seemed to pinpoint. I started eating meat again after being a semi-vegetarian 4 about 6 yrs, which coincides with my recurring infections. Could this be a cause? My primary suspect is the sex, but he was treated when he got it fr me previously. Can other skin conditions contribute to yeast infection? (he has numerous pimple-liked bumps on his body)

Hi EE,

I know exactly how you feel! I used to suffer from yeast infections constantly and no matter how many different creams and pills I tried it always came back :(

I was so embarrassed by it that I couldn’t bare to keep going to the doctors. In the end I found this website on the internet which changed everything and made me feel myself again. If you want to take a look, it’s at http://www.QuickYeastInfectionCure.com

Hope it works for u too!

what is these I have never suffered from vaginal infections is this normal I have had infections since July? Could it be he transmitted something to me? Please help Im so frustrated…

He may have a yeast infection & may be giving it back to you. He needs to be treated for one as well. It is MUCH harder in men to diagnose, but a doctor will be able to.

Just curious if maybe he had it or he got it from me if I had one. Could he be giving it back to me. The last two times we’ve had sex I got one. I don’t use soap on vaginal areas or use anything scented. Always wear cotton underwear so I have worked to keep them at bay.

He does use scented soap though, could that also be a cause. We are commited partners and do not use condoms but use birth control. Also heard birth control could be a cause.

Any one have the same problem and have any suggestions. I will be going to the dr but want others opinions who have gone through it for any other things you have tried.
My doctor told me to avoid using soap but just use water and a sponge as it is not necessary.

He is circumcised.

Absolutely!
Candida albicans is something shared by BOTH partners!

If one (sexual) partner does not get treated, then you end up innocently re-infecting each other.

Keep in mind that men often are asymptomatic! (no symptoms)

Yeast infections have a lot to do with a person’s personal pH factors. Women naturally have "healthy" bacteria reside in the intestines and the vagina. Yet, there are reasons for the "over abundance" of these otherwise "good bacterias."

Wet/moist bathing suits.
Sitting for long periods of time (such as a secretary/desk clerk position or one confined to a wheelchair)
Oral contraceptives (you may need to try another modem)
Antibiotics consumption (try using natural yogurt to balance pH there)
Synthetic fabrics for undergarments, or g-strings/pressure on vulvas.
Fragrance soaps &/or fabric softeners.
Perfumes, douches with vinegar bases, etc.
Poor diets, or ones high in carbohydrates.
Stress.

THINGS YOU CAN DO TO ELIMINATE YOUR PROBLEMs:
Pro biotic lactobacillus acidophilus (insert like suppository nite)
Never use soaps ‘down there’
Try tea tree oils or tea tree soaps (also good on rashes)
Alternate good soap is Neutrogena
‘Blow dryer’ your area thoroughly post showering.
(this makes bacteria "back away" cause bacteria needs moisture)
Make sure you fully ‘dry’ the entire perineum (lips & backside, too)
NEVER use vaseline or any petroleum based products down there.
(because Vaseline breeds bacteria!!)
Wear only cotton briefs. . or none at all . . . let air dry under a skirt.
Bring a zip-lock baggie to work w/fresh panties to change ea 4hrs.
Put away all your sexey g-strings for now… until infection clears.
Eat really healthy, live foods. eliminate sugars altogether.
Try eating Salad for breakfast!
Eliminate ALL Vinegar. yes, you read right.
(Vinegar changes pH . . . & promotes yeast!!!)
Absolutely DO NOT use vinegar douches or any douches for now.
Get PLENTY of rest. do Yoga. eliminate stress best you can.
Boil garlic. place inside vagina at night (as a natural suppository)
Change your oral contraceptives to an alternate method of BC.
Stop using fabric softeners of any kind.
Follow your doctor’s orders specifically.
Abstain from sexual intercourse for a duration…till the green light!!

Keep in mind. Doctors do not always diagnose the problem. They’re rushed, understaffed, may not get an appropriate "sample" to test, etc. So, take charge of your own health. Keep clean! (wink)

Hope this helps! Wellness to YOU!!
