I get a yeast infection a few times a year. This time it started out feeling how it usually does maybe even less. I used plain sugar free yogurt on the outside and inside. The itching and stuff from the inside seems to have gone away pretty much BUT it is really bad on the place where my leg folds. It is a big red itchy rash. I was concerned that it was something worse than a yeast infection but when I looked up pictures of a yeast infection rash it is what it looks like.
I went to the pharmacy and got some Tinoxal cream. I have just been using it for one day now. How long until this goes away??? I have never had it spread to the fold of my leg before.
Can I have sex while I have this horrible looking rash or will it infect my boyfriend? Ughhhh!! so annoying
I just wish this would go away ASAP. I heard that if you mix vinegar with water that can help too??
Has anyone had this and what did you do and how long did it take for it to go away?????
i don’t have a bath tub & would like to avoid the doctor. What is the stronger product they could give me?

if you really want to get rid of yeast infection then you must follow these tips:

1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

3) Decrease or eliminate sugar and sugary foods. Sugar promotes yeast growth.

4) Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent.

5) Try gentian violet. It’s a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found in pharmacies. Swab the area with it once or twice a day. Make sure to use a thick pad – it stains everything.

6) Use an herbal douche. Combine equal amounts of sage, raspberry and comfrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. This can be combined with cider vinegar.

7) also you should use some herbal treatment. In that case Yeastrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of yeast infection comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that it wont reappear again!
And of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly). For me it worked very fast + I dont get yeast infections anymore (almost 2 years) …

OK I think what I have is a yeast infection. It felt like one at first but now the issue has spread to almost my thights in that spot where my leg begins and it folds, the crease. It is the worst on one side in that area. It looks really red and really bad and its not going away. I have been using cream for a fungal infection plus plain yogurt on it. How long will it take to go away???? It looks like this:

http://www.lib.uiowa.edu/hARDIN/MD/pictures22/dermnet/tinea_ya05-01.jpg

on my SKIN. It is not really itchy it just feels sore like a rash and hurts slightly to touch it.
Do I need to go to the doctor for this or is there some stronger medication I can request from the pharmacy?? OR do I just need to be more patient???
for the past 3 months every infection I get goes out of control. First it was my wisdom tooth that caused an infection with my gums then I got a sore throat which spread into a bad case of tonsillitis that was not going away and now this. I have never had a yeast infection get out of control like this ughhhhh…
If anyone has had an experience like this and what did you do and how did you treat it or get rid of it.
Maybe it is not even a yeast infection but what else could it be?
Thanks.
by the way that picture isnt me but it kinda looks like that. The reason I think it is a yeast infection is because I have had them before and it started off as any usual one… the part on the inside seems to have gone away it just got out of control and spread to the leg crease and that part and the rash isnt going away. I don’t know, maybe its something else.

it doesn’t sound like a yeast infection to me … if it is a yeast infection you would be having a discharge that looks like cottage cheese and is kinda yellowish … and it would smell like bread (lol yeast is yeast haha) if it is a yeast infection, get some monistat (the one day one you’ll want to kill yourself at the end of the week, if you get the week one)

it sounds more like a fungal infection to me … I think you’re right to be putting antifungal cream on it … but I would check with a doctor … it sounds kinda like jock itch (girls can get it too) most jock itch medicines are over the counter these days though so just get a really good one and make sure you’re wearing cotton undies and whatnot

Women often get yeast infections after taking antibiotics, because the drug kills off the natural bacteria and yeast takes over. I’ve heard that eating yogurt with active cultures can help replace the natural bacteria. But…how are those bacteria supposed to get from the digestive tract to the reproductive tract? Or does the yogurt only benefit the gut and does nothing to prevent yeast infections?

I doubt it could be through the bloodstream, because any bacteria in the blood is a serious medical condition. If it’s across the skin, it would seem you’d have a hygiene problem.
I don’t know who’s right, so I’ll put it up for a vote.

I actually got better results from eating the yogurt and even when taking actual acidophillous tablets. When you take either of these it goes thru the blood system and in to the digestive tract to help restore the balance of good bacteria there.

Taking acidophillous will help prevent yeast infections. I did it for some time taking the acidophillous tablets and it worked pretty well for me.

I would recommend checking with your dr to be on the safe side.

I took my dog to the vets last week (he is a 1 year old pug if this helps), as he was suffering with his skin. The vet originally thought he had a bacterial skin infection and treated with a weeks worth of antibiotics. The symptoms did not improve, so I returned to the vets again today. The vet decided to do a skin scraping which tested for mites, yeast infections and tapeworm. The results came back showing the dog has demodex mites with a secondary yeast infection.

The vet has given me a course of antibiotics to clear the yeast infection, 2 types of ear treatments to cure a yeast outbreak in the ear, and 3 months worth of mite treatments, which he is confident will clear his symptoms.

The dog suffers badly with itching and has caused patches in his fur through obsessvie licking.

Does anyone know the possible cause of this and suggest any ways in which I can help him/prevent them from returning or offer me any advice? Thank you

Demodex mites generally live without any problems on dogs throughout their lives. They acquire the mites from their mothers as a pup. But like the first answer stated, an underlying immune disorder can start to cause problems for the dog. Normally once a dog is cured of the infection it will not get reinfected. But a dog with an underlying immune disorder will be very hard to cure. Perhaps once you clear up the yeast infection then it will be much easier to permanently rid him of the demodex infection.

for like a week i had red and itchy labia, no bumps or anything, then it went away immediately when i got my period.. well when it stopped i realised i had what looks like a diaper rash or something between my vagina and anus. its definately not a herpes rash, its big and with hundreds of tiny bumps, not in clusters. very dry skin. can this be a yeast infection?

Do not know? Last time I had a yeast Infection was after a course of antibiotics. First symptom was itching. Second symptoms the urge to have sex with thousands of men if that would cure the itch. Third symptoms cottage cheese discharge whereupon I knew it was a yeast infection. Thankfully my GP gave me the new knock down pill, just one pill and it was gone.

About 2 years ago, I rescued a little Shih Tzu with quite a few medical problems. She has epilepsy, which is now under control.. but her worst problems are her re-occurring yeast infections & skin allergies.

My vet and I have exhausted all of our options. She’s on a very specialized diet..which has pretty much eliminated her skin allergies.. but I can’t seem to beat the yeast infections and it’s driving me crazy.
I do a yeast-controlling, medicated shampoo bath a few times a week..which helps very temporarily.

So far, the only thing that has worked is the medication ketoconazole. However, my dog can only take this medication for extreme flare-ups as, paired with the phenobarbital for her seizures, is quite hard on her little liver.

Any ideas or suggestions are VERY much appreciated. I’m at a loss here.

Try bathing her every day for three weeks with Malaseb shampoo.Leave it on for 30 minutes every time. After that, bathe every three days. After she is dry, apply an athlete’s foot powder or spray to her entire body ( one with Miconazole). Give her plain yogurt every day and try her on a fish-based dog food. I recommend Eagle Pack Holistic Selects Anchovy,Sardine and Salmon. Keep the coat clipped short and keep her ears back with the top of a sock slipped over her head so that air gets into the ear canals. Zymox is a good product for chronic ear infections. And has she been checked for hypothyroidism?

I know its not an STD. Im married and pregnant.

It may be heat rash which causes heat, itchyness and irritation in forms of little red bums in clusters. It is mostly found between legs and under armpits. It is caused by the blockage of your sweat poures causing them to retain extra sweat (urea) and they become irritated like this.

Treatment is to wear loose clothing and let it pass. It usually disappears in 2 weeks. Aloe Vera lotion will help.

TMI Alert! Every time I get my period I get a yeast infection. I’m 23, never been pregnant, and haven’t had sex in awhile. I only wear cotton underwear, do my laundry in all-natural detergent with a double rinse, and use Dove Sensitive Skin soap. I’ve just bought some organic cotton pads off the Internet, do you think that will help? Is there anything else I should be doing?

Causes of yeast infection are multiple. The yeast is in our body anyway. Curring yeast infection will not be easy. Yogurt it helps, but must ne unsweetened. A big cause of yeast infections are the sweets from your diet. This mainly feed your yeast in your body. Having yeast infection during periods I think you suffer from recurrent yeast infection and you should take a more complex approach to treat it.
