Skin Yeast Infection Archives

It feels like there is a flap of skin in the way and kind of raw around the outside around the vagina. Sometimes I will get a rush of heat, kind of like burning but more like heat, from my vagina. What is this? Is it just me getting over the yeast infection?

It does feel like the burning. You should use an antibacterial regularly and wash the area around your vagina. Wash it a couple of times during the day. You will be fine in a day or two.

If you are not a woman, or have not had a yeast infection please do not waste my time with your juvenile responses. I’d like to think that we could all be mature adults on the internet. That being said…

I am starting to suspect that I suffer from yeast infections. I am 22 years old. This has happened to me probably around a handful of times, and it is typically a week or so before my period. I experience itching in the vaginal area. At certain times I don’t even feel it, and at other times it is a very severe itching. The inside of my labia minora are red, as is the opening of the vagina. After a few days of this, the skin on my labia minora begins to peel off. At first when I looked I thought it was toilet paper but i went to take it off and indeed it was skin. Please share your yeast infection experiences and any advice you can offer to help me. (Yes I will be making a DR appointment) Thank you!

PS – I’ve had this occur about a handful of times over the past few years… even before I was sexually active.
this has occured SINCE before i was sexually active. I have been sexually active for about 4 years now. I am in a long-term monogomous relationship so I am on the pill – no lube or condoms…
:-(

I’ve never had these symptoms with a yeast infection but when i had itching and peeling skin, i went to the Dr and he told me i was allergic to the lubricant my partner and i were using. Could this be it?

Edit :Oh sorry i just read that you had this before you was sexually active. Drink lots of cranberry juice also to prevent further yeast infections!

Well , that is pretty basic.

I am 14 and I haven’t and my period yet, and i get discharge thats slightly brown when it dries.
I also have another question…

Is there a way to check and possibly cure a yeast infection with, without going to a doctor, because I am really scared.
And i also have this a saggy piece of skin on my clitoris, what could that be ?

The brown discharge is your period darling. You’re still young and so sometimes it isn’t heavy. Don’t worry about that, it’s totally normal.

The signs and symptoms for a yeast infection is white discharge, bad smell, itchiness, and burning sensation. Keep in mind that all the signs are not necessarily present at the same time. To feel better you can get drugs at the pharmacy (either table or cream). If you don’t want to get drugs from the pharmacy, on a tampon you can apply for lubricant with a few drops of tea tree, then insert the tampon and keep it in overnight. It will not cure it, but help reduce the symptoms. Keep in mind that yeast infection comes from a bacteria naturally present in your vagina but due to some factors (i.e. sickness, antibiotics, fatigue, etc..) the bacteria multiples and then you have an infection. Try to wipe front to back, wash your hand before and after going to the bathroom, and keep your genital clean. Also you shouldn’t be scared to talk to a doctor about it. Find a nice female doctor, tell her that you are scared and everything will be fine. Besides, it’s better to check it because it may be something else than a yeast infection and you want to know so you can get the adequate treatment.

The saggy piece of of skin on your clitoris is most likely to be your inner lip.

i think i may have a build up of yeast inside my body. i have a lot of the symptoms such as memory loss, fatigue, dry skin, mood changes, allergies, & at times i can even taste yeast when i swallow or blow my nose. i’m just wondering if it’s possible to have a yeast build up in my body, yet never experience a vaginal yeast infection. i just figured if i do have a yeast build up, it would have affected me vaginally by now, but it hasn’t.

You can’t have yeast build up, without having some yeast infection some place in your body; since yeast is a bi-produce of an over production of bacteria that is normally found in our intestines, but ends up getting out of control. Often women get them while using antibiotics, becuase antibiotics kill the bad bacterias as well as many good ones that are needed.

You can have the bacteria that produces yeast on your tongue, they appear as a white covering on your tongue or throat. You can have vaginal yeast infections and many women have mild ones and never know it until a doctors sees it. Any white cake or cottage cheese substance on or in your vagina is yeast. There are intestional yeast infections as well.

Now, if you even think you have it, there is a very safe way to deal with yeast, which is a bi-produce of an organizsm, most often found in the digestive tract.

Wal-mart has this item for cheap. It’s Acidophilus, by Spring Valley. Costs around 7.00 for 120 tablets. After opening keep in the refrigerator. It’s live bacteria that our intestinal tract needs. If you eat well, most people have lots of healthy bacteria, but now days with all the colas, sugary foods, many people, even men can end up with yeast infections and not even know it.

Use the first dosage 4 of the tablets to really get your body going. Then use two at bedtime the first day, two more in the morning and two more the next night. Then take one in the morning and one at night for five days. Then one a day for one more week. That normallly will clear up any yeast infection. It simply helps the body to build back up the healthy organisms in the digestive tract.

Eat lots of veges, or bran, as they can make you a little constipated as they begin to work.

I use to get yeast infections all the time from antibiotics. I use to take the prescription for it, then had an allergic reactions. Then my pharmacist said to try the Acidophilus, that it did as well if not better then the prescription and didn’t interact with any other medications that they’d ever encountered. It’s even what OB/GYN’s give to pregnant ladies who end up with a yeast infection, because it’s natural, helpful and can’t harm the baby.

Now, the fact you say you can taste it when ou blow your nose. I’m wondering if you have a fungus infection instead. Fungus infections are nasty and cause more of hte symptoms you are talking about. Especially if it’s gone on a while. If you have medical insurance, I would highly recommend you see and ENT and ask them to swab your nose, mouth and do an exam. If you have a fungus infection that you’ve had a for a while, it can get down into the teeth and cause absesses, it can move into the brain in time. It’s not something to mess with. I had a friend I told her I knew she had it, her primary care doctor said no. She got into an ENT, she had a fungus infection that caused her to lose a tooth, have to be treated with very powerful anti-biotics for about 2 1/2 months.

Yeast SMELLS, like dead fish if you ask me. I had it on my tongue once following throat surgery and there was no taste. If you are tasting something, I doubt it’s yeast.

Also, there are B-Vitamin as well as Mineral definciencies that can cause a metalic taste in your mouth, as well as cause the other symptoms you are talking about. Consider getting a blood work up from a doctor, even a primary care doctor can do this.

Ask yourself if it’s a metalic taste you are tasting?

With all your symptoms, I’m telling you as someone who has from antibiotic use, many yeast infections and the Trush, which is a tongue and throat yeast infection once. I never once had from it all the symptoms you are talking about. You really do sound more like you are experiencing some type of vitamin or mineral defeciency and you can’t just take over the counter vitamins and minerals to solve hte problem if that is what’s wrong. IF that is what’s wrong you really need to get into see a GOOD primary care doctor who can check your vitamin levels, especially your B-vitamins and Minerals like Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, etc.

If you try for even one week the Acidophilus and you are not feeling much better, really do go see a doctor and if you can afford it now, go now.

If you are bulemic, vomiting can also cause severe vitamin and mineral deficiencies that lead to all the symptoms you are saying you have.

Whatever the cause, don’t just let it keep going on, find out now. You wait long enough, you might be left in a situation that can’t be fixed.

Take care of yourself.

i’m getting red, skin and a white build up all over my vagina.
is it a yeast infection?
and what will help?

It’s possible. If it’s your first time and you’ve never had one before, consult a gynecologist because those symptoms are characteristic of other, more serious problems (such as STIs, or sexually transmitted infections). Yeast infections are usually a PH imbalance, an increase in your body PH resulting in itching, burning, a whitish discharge, and sometimes a smell, depending on its cause.
If you are sure it is a yeast infection, limit your sugar intake and see your doctor. Doctors can prescribe a topical cream or a one-time pill that’s the most convenient solution. If a doctor is not available, though I strongly suggest seeing one, there are over the counter products where you insert creams for 1 day, 3 days, or 7 days. The 7 day treatments are the most effective, and are not painful/very uncomfortable like the 1 day and 3 days are. Until you treat the issue, you can use dilluted hydrogen peroxide (one cup water to one teaspoon of peroxide) on the itchy areas to make it a bit more bearable. There are also common home remedies, such as inserting a naked garlic glove into the vagina, or inserting sugar free yogurt directly into the vagina.

my puppy has like a skin infection and has hair loss and the skin is red…..ive heard that putting burned car oil helps alot but i dont know wat to do!!!!

Motor oil will harm the liver, so it is not wise. the condition could be mites or, as you suggested, hot spots.(moist pyoderma) Hot spots are usually caused by an allergic reaction, so you need to find the cause. flea bite allergy is most common, but food or pollen allergies are often the culprits as well..
to ease the itching and promote healing, you can use pure aloe vera gel, or witch hazel will ease the itching.
If she has had ANY fleas, it is the most likely cause…If not, then, if there is corn or wheat in her food, eliminate that from her diet.
this supplement will really help her overcome her allergies..>http://springtimeinc.com/product/88/2

this may be a very helpful site to help you understand the condition> http://www.vetinfo.com/dencyclopedia/dehotspot.html

My doctor said it looks like I have some yeast on the skin left over. Can you use lemon juice on the external vaginal areas?

no i wouldnt recommend it. it will be very uncomfortable. try monistat products or if you really wanna be organic you can put plain yogurt up there to help.

I work at a military base and the water is not the same as in the states so could this water be a cause or effect?
Should I be very concerned?. There is no discharge. I will be traveling in 5 months for a check up. Is that too long to wait. I am a black lady over 60yrs.
Thank

Untreated yeast infection can be a cause.

Since yeast infection is caused by harmonal imbalance, which basically means the ph factor in your body is not balanced. This is caused by bacteria.

The ph factor can vary depending on the food you eat and water is a part of our food intake.

Just varying the kinds of food you eat on a daily basis can help in treating the yeast infection. Be proactive, its your body.

On your arm, for example.
I went to my doctor to find out about a weird skin condition on my arm, and she said it was a mild yeast infection. It doesn’t itch or burn. And it is really hard to find an ointment that doesn’t apply to your vagina.

Yes!!! i had the same thing probably about a little more than a year ago but it was on the back of my neck. Use selsun blue the dandruff shampoo it is also anti-fungul which is what yeast sorta is put it on and leave it on for a while and then wash it off.. mine went away.. rather quickly it started to come back a little while later and i did the same thing and i haven’t had any signs of it in over a year! i probably only applied it 3-4 times

You sure can! When given the opportunity, yeast will grow nearly anywhere on (or in) our bodies. Usually, there are beneficial bacteria that keep the yeast at bay so to speak but if you have taken any immune suppressing drugs like an antibiotic or steroids this will increase your risk of developing a yeast infection. People with chronically compromised immune systems due to AIDS, mono infections, and chemotherapy often will have yeast infections in their mouths (thrush) and on their faces near the eyes. Diabetics are also prone to yeast infections that can show up in a variety of places. In health, it is not common to have a yeast infection on the skin.

Athletes foot is caused by a fungus but it is a different species (Tinea) than the one that causes traditional yeast (Candida) infections. Both respond to anti-fungals however I wouldn’t think it would be wise to use something make for your feet elsewhere on the body. ;)

There are a lot of other bacterial and autoimmune skin conditions that might cause redness and itching so if you are concerned and/or it isn’t going away I would head to the doctor. :)

Hope this helps.
