Systemic Yeast Infection Archives

My doc suspected I had systemic yeast in my stomach whein I went to her complaining of chronich sinus infection & post nasal drip. I tried the diet for this past month and it works. I just don’ want to have to do this forever. The only supplements I’ve been taking are grapefruit seed extract & acidophilus. They’re supposed to get rid of the yeast as well. But are there any other supplements I can take to get rid of the yeast? I’ve heard of Candex & ThreeLac. Does anything else work? Or do I have to stay on the diet for ever?

Unfortunately, this problem does not go away just by taking medication/supplements.Diet plays a big role in treatment.
The best diet is stay away from anything that feeds yeast e.g. sugars, carbs, etc. when your system gets free of yeast you can go back to your regular diet.

Or, do you know anything about, Cure Your Yeast Infection the All-Natural Way?

My ex is the author of The Yeast Syndrome (John Parks Trowbridge, MD)

Diets do work, but you also need the help of anti-yeast medication to get things under control. You also feel worse before you get better as the yeast die-off creates a reaction called Herxheimer’s Reaction – which is the illness you feel from the toxins released by millions of dying yeast.

Arlette Pharo, MD is who Dr. Trowbridge refers candida patients to unless you are seeing him for orthopedics or chelation. The regimen of ANY yeast control diet is so hard to adhere to – yeast makes a person really emotional, and it is is hard to stay on these diets without a lot of support.

Please help…..I think my dog has a horrible yeast infection. She’s a 20lb, Chi / mix. Her urine culture will be back from the lab tomorrow or day after, but she’s suffering !!! If she DOES have a bad systemic yeast infection, what’s the BEST, QUICKEST way to knock it out ???
Antibiotics I assume, but which one ? She’s on Amoxicillin now, just in case….will that help at all ?????? Please help !!

Antobiotics do not kill fungi, which is what yeast is. In fact, anti-biotics kill off the good bacteria that help keep the yeast in check.
If it is a yeast infection, the dog needs to be on a good anti-fungal medication and probiotics from yogurt aren’t a bad idea to help replenish the good bacteria.

What will a doctor do for you? How can a person control the night time sweats and other symptoms until treatment is available?
This would be the digestive type infection?

don’t take advice from people on here….for that type of yeast infection you should probably only take advice from your doctor. But on a better note…you’ll be fine. For now stay away from yeasty type foods…take a cold shower before bed…and seek treatment as soon as you can. Good luck goodlookin’

This may sound very strange but I’ve had a yeast infection for a few years now and it has not gone away. I’m pretty sure it’s still just vaginal and not in my bloodstream or anything because I’ve gotten my blood taken during checkups. I recently went to a gyno and he prescribed me two Diflucan and the symptoms went away but came right back. I do not know what else to do and I don’t want to be one of the rare cases that DIES from this.

Please help me.

What’s wrong with me? What can I do? Do I have a systemic yeast infection?

i think you’re reinfecting yourself somehow – and i think i may know how:

i used to get yeast infections all the time – now i barely ever get them – and i only changed one thing: i stopped taking tub baths….bathing in a tub of warm water is a breeding ground for yeast infections (as well as bladder infections)…i now take showers only.

another possibility is that you’re wearing too tight of clothing – yes, really – it can and does cause yeast infections in women more often than you’d think…

and, if you’re sexually active, another possibility is that your sexual partner has it and is constantly reinfecting you – yes, MEN get yeast infections also – and if they don’t get cured, they’ll keep reinfecting you.

as far as treating yeast infections goes, you can do it yourself – although it’ll sound bizarre, it works: PLAIN (unflavored) *YOGURT*! – yes, really! – and, it’s practically free, lol. – just put a bit of yogurt both on the inside and the outside area each night until the infection is gone…it usually only takes a few days.

if you don’t believe it’s true, simply google "yeast infection yogurt" and you’ll find all the proof you need.

good luck. :)

You need to see a Dr. as you may need pills to get rid of it.

Over the counter anti-fungal cream will work too- but you need to get rid of it if it’s that widespread.

Good luck!

I think it can….yeast infections can mess you up pretty bad….and for a long period of time. The best thing to do is to take acidopholus (spelling)….which is a probiotic….it will eventually kill the yeast infection. Talk to a nutritionist or a pharmacist for a better explanation….most MD’s aren’t real informed in this area….my cousin’s daughter has been going through this….she has run up against a few clueless MD’s. Good luck.

I’m contemplating going to the doctor and getting a prescription drug to get rid of my systemic yeast infection (It’s all over my intestines). At the same time, I think it would be better to just eat a ton of garlic. I’ve been making garlic smoothies for the past 2 days and I’ve already noticed some improvement. I’m also taking probiotics with every meal. But would getting a prescription drug for the infection be faster?

Which IS faster in getting rid of the infection? Prescription drugs, or probiotic/garlic combo? Is the naturopathic method foolproof? I don’t want to waste a month doing something that will not even help!

Thanks for the help!!

The best guide I know about yeast infection is here:

I am suffering with a systemic yeast infection and was wondering what natural remedies (eg. supplements, tinctures, herbs, vitamins/ minerals) could help me to get rid of the excess yeast in my system. I already know the following helps:
Yeast free diet
Garlic
Probiotics
Grapeseed extract
Apple-cider vinegar

I realise that there is no out right ‘cure’ but suggestions of anything that could help would be most appreciated.

Please remember im asking about SYSTEMIC (internal) yeast infection; not a vaginal, vulval or oral infection

@Natpractitioner – FYI a yeast-free diet includes a sugar free diet

Actually, those 5 are exactly it.
I would first suggest a high dose of Probiotics (like 6-10 billion viable organisms or more) with at least 4-6 different strains of probiotics. If you take that with the other 3 supplements, you should feel better hopefully very soon (maybe a few weeks or so, depending on how bad it is). The garlic is a great agent to fight the year, the ACV is a great cleanser, and the grapeseed is a fantastic antioxidant for protection.
And yes, you’re right… a yeast-free (and sugar free) diet would be one of your best steps in addition to the probiotics. Good luck!

About 3 months ago I had a yeast infection. The symptoms seemed to pass so I never treated it. A month later a began showing symptoms of oral thrush, (yeast infection of the mouth.) I got some over the counter oral rinse but saw no signs of improvement. Over the last week or so I became EXTREMELY ill: severe muscle tightness and cramping, visual disturbances, migraines, chronic fatigue, memory loss,…….. I had a list of 43 symptoms. I was sleeping 20 hours a day and barely staying awake the other four. I was terrified but everyone kept telling me it was JUST IN MY HEAD and that I was becoming a hypochondriac. I felt so betrayed, depressed, hurt, and confused. Were they right? Was I just being over dramatic? Was I just stressed and imagining these symptoms?
I finally went to the ER today and the doctor confirmed that I did indeed have a systemic yeast infection. Great, finally someone believed me. He gave me 1 dose of oral Diflucan 150 and a prescription for an antibiotic. (I also have a sinus infection.) I asked him if I could have a refill on the Diflucan because of the interaction with the antibiotic, but he said I would just have to follow up with my family doctor.
I took the oral dose of Diflucan at 11:00 am and I can already feel an improvement. However, I can smell an overwhelming scent of yeast coming from my hands, and other areas of my body. Is this normal?
Also, I am afraid to take the antibiotic because of the yeast infection. Should I just take the antibiotic and deal with the symptoms from the yeast infection? PLEASE HELP! I’m scared and sick and tired of feeling sick.

The difflucan will work rather quickly to restore your bacteria balance in your system. Get your antibiotics filled and wait for about 24 hours to start taking them for your sinus infection. That is something else that won’t get better without treatment and with all of the tree pollen in the air and grass being cut, you need to take the medicine. Try to limit your carbohydrates over the next week to help stabilize the yeast problem. No sugar, regular soft drinks, white bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, etc., which feed the yeast and keep it alive.

You should follow up with your family doctor regarding both of these problems.

hope this helps..
