Yeast Infection Cause Archives

im 37 weeks pregnant and have a yeast infection. can the doctor treat it if im dialated? will the meds get to the baby? would they just induce?

Are you dilated? If so, it’s a little concerning. You would want to treat the infection, so it does not affect the exposed amniotic sac, if you are dilated. The meds would not be harmful.
They would not induce for a yeast infection.

my last period ended on nov.11 and about a week later i noticed some spotting sometimes a light brown other times a red color with some small clots, i have had sex with in this time and noticed the spotting after that, the bleeding is very light and sometimes only noticed when i wipe it goes away for about a day and then comes back, i also have had some white discharge, redness, and itching. could this all be do to a yeast infection and why hasn’t the bleeding gone away???

um see your doctor and right away…this could be Chlamydia which is very common and has symptoms similar to a yeast infection and it can leave you sterile(unable to have babies)
so the sooner you get a pap smear the better for you and evry1 else involved!

I’ve had an infection for several months. I went a few months without telling anyone because I was embarrassed, but when I finally caved and asked my mom for some OTC treatments, they didn’t work or only worked temporarily. Now my menstruation cycle (which is usually normal) is almost a week late and I’m getting concerned.

No yeast infection alone can not make that cycle abnormalities but for sure as long as you have recurrent and persistant infection that is equal to hormonal imbalance…..
so you must checked up
good luck

Or is it impossible?

No. A pregnancy test measures the amount of hormone (hCG) which is produced by the embryo after implantation. A yeast infection has nothing to do with the production of hCG or how it’s produced. It can not alter a pregnancy test. ?

I have itching and swelling in the vaginal area. So I got some itching cream, and as I was puting it on, I discovered a little bit of blood in with the discharge. I got off my period one week ago. And I dont know if bleeding is normal.

have you scratched yourself down there? you might have scratched it raw and it had some blood.. you might need to go to the doc if this still happens..

My friend wants to know and is very concerned.

Hi,

A yeast infection alone will not cause infertility, except in that you will be itchy and uncomfortable, and probably not in the mood for sex.

However it is very important, especially if this is your first yeast infection, to see your doctor to confirm that it really is a yeast infection. Other conditions *can* cause infertility, and women who are not familiar with the difference may ignore them. Some of these conditions are pelvic infections, or the very common "bacterial vaginitis", which if untreated can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease, and infertility.

In addition, sexually transmitted diseases can be mistaken for a yeast infection; these include gonorrhea and herpes, both of which cause itching like a yeast infection.

Symptoms of a yeast infection include itching, burning, redness, and irritation of the vaginal area, swelling of the vulva, painful or frequent urination, and excessive vaginal discharge that is thick and resembles cottage cheese (it also has a distinctive smell). Sex with a yeast infection can be painful due to these symptoms.

If you’re trying hard to conceive, drop by your GP or OB’s office to confirm that it’s only a yeast infection, and play it safe.

Good luck,
Nemrod Kedem

I took some anti-biotics for my H. Pylori infection, and now my vagina has started itching. There is this greenish whitish discharge that is hard and stiff. Can the anti-biotics cause a yeast infection?
I don’t have my period yet, and I am still a virgin!

You can get a yeast infection from taking antibiotics…..Make an appointment with your doctor…

Can a severe outer epidermis infection, IE, Yeast, Bed Soar, etc cause dementia in a patient? This is Pre-Antibiotic stage infection. Patient complains of visual oddities, hearing people speak when they are not there.
I want to know if this is a possible symptom of the infection, or a precursor to dementia, patient is in their 60′s, Male, 200lbs, relatively healthy.

Typically invasive infection manifests as delirium not dementia, the difference being delirium is fairly quick onset, involves most cognitive function (i.e. attention, memory, speech) and usually resolves when the underlying problem is fixed (ie. the infection)

Dementia in that age group is typically caused by alzheimer’s, recurrent strokes (vascular dementia), frontotemporal disease (pick’s dementia), and combinations of the 3.

I’m 2 months pregnant with a yeast infection, but I keep getting cramps. Is that normal?

No getting cramps in your first periods is not normal , you should get an ultrasound now and see what is happening

I know I have a yeast infection, I took the medication last night, but could the infection cause swelling down there?

yes of course! it is irritated, red and it burns and itches a lot. so it will be swollen until the meds can work for a few days..
