I recently had a UTI and I was left with a yeast infection from the antibiotics.
Can I still become pregnant if I have an yeast infection?
Also, I was wondering everytime I have sex with a certain male the next morning I have a thick gluey discharge. Does anyone know what this may be?
1. An ordinary yeast infection cannot cause infertility. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t treat it, as it is communicable and unpleasant. Your doctor can prescribe diflucan, or you can take an over-the-counter medication like Monistat which should clear it up in a few days.
2. Yes you can still get pregnant if you have a yeast infection. You are also more vulnerable to STDs, as your vagina is irritated and susceptible to tearing.
3. Are you not using a condom? It could be semen, or it could be that you are ovulating (thick gluey discharge is classic ovulation mucus). If you’re concerned, you need to see a doctor for this one, since internet diagnosis is notoriously unreliable.
