can using a medication for yeast infection effect preg. test results?

i currently have a yeast infection and am using an over the counter medication i began using it sunday night, and tested for pregnancy on monday. i dont mean to sound stupid asking this question but iv never had an infection before so know nothing about the product. my period is only 2 days late. i know i need to see a doctor but mine wont see me until july. so could the medication cause the test to come up negative?

No, the medication would not affect the test results. The pregnancy test only reacts to pregnancy hormones.

You might have tested a bit early, though. Try again in another week.

does yogurt really work for yeast infections?

i really want this to go away quick, so i’ve been researching other answers on this website. i heard on one forum that the yogurt thing was a myth, and doesn’t work and will cause bacteria infections.

so, if i buy plain yogurt with “active cultures” in it,
eat it and put it on the “infected” area,
will it help?

Umm putting yogurt on your cooch? Or what, I don’t think putting it on the infected area would do any good, your suppose to eat it “only” and I believe it does work.

my antibiotics gave me a yeast infection, stop taking them?

i had to take amoxicillin for strep throat i got a couple days ago. im supposed to take it for 10 days to make sure its completely gone. however, yesterday my vaginal area felt itchy, so i went back to the doctor today and he said its a yeast infection from the antibiotics. he gave me a tablet that i just take once and in 5 days the infection should be completely gone.

what im wondering is, should i continue taking my antibiotic? im definately not done with the 10 days, and i wouldnt want the strep to come back, but would it make my yeast infection worse?

KEEP TAKING THE ANTIBIOTICS! DO NOT take the other yeast infection pill until you are done with the antibiotics. If you take it now, it will come back. You HAVE to keep taking the antibiotics!!!

Have a slight yeast infection, but am trying for pregnancy. Do the medicated creams affect conception?

I intend to treat the infection today, Wednesday, and expect to ovulate on Saturday. In theory, it would be better by then anyway, but I am curious if conception is affected if I have to do a second treatment.

Local medication for yeast is harmless. It does not affect pregnancy in any way.

Help, yeast infection I think?

My vagina has been very itchy and had a burning sensation for almost a week. I’m only 13 and kind of afraid to tell my mom because I don’t like the doctor looking at me. {I know i sound stupid and whatever, but its awkward, I’ve had to be examined for one before] This one doesn’t feel quite like my last yeast infection though, it’s more uncomfortable and painful. Should I ask mom to get me one of those at home kits to test? or go to the doctor? or what?

Help please
I’m only 13 and never had sex though

well, if it is an infection you don’t want to mess around with it, drink lots of water and especially crannberry juice! If it isn’t better by sunday morning get a hpme test,if its positive go to the doctor. I’m 14 and I hate to but they really are there to help! My opinion ..my private parts are mine and only mine and I don’t go flaunting it but you’ve gotta do what you gotta do! I have been in your situation many times, hope I helped!

Does nystatin cream cure yeast infections?

Yes, nystatin is a yeast killer.

Also try applying coconut oil topically, going off sugar (even fruit etc) because the yeast feeds on the stuff, add a probiotic supplement from the health food store and as much probiotic yogart as you can eat.

My daughter has had reoccuring yeast and this is what finally killed it for good.

How do I get rid of red rash under breasts?

I constantly have a red rash that goes between and under my breasts. It appears to have very tiny bumps filled with a liquid. I have tried baby powder and have tried putting deodorant under and it doesn’t seem to help. I have noticed it is considerably worse in the hot summer months (I live in TX) but is still there a little bit(but turns more of a light brownish color)in the winter. Yes I do have very large breasts DDD cup. I’m assuming this is some sort of a infection from my skin getting sweaty under there.
I’m wondering which route I should try either using a cream for jock itch or a treatment for a yeast infection??
Which one works better? and how do I use the creams??

Oh I don’t have health insurance right now so I have to try and get this resolved via over the counter products.

Thank you so very much!!

It may be a yeast infection. They typically happen where there may be moisture and skin on skin contact, which it sounds like it would be the case here.

If it is a yeast infection your best bet believe it or not is to remove the yeast infection from your entire system, using a natural oral treatment to balance the yeast in your entire system.

Yeast infections aren’t that easy to permanently get rid of. Many products can temporarily relieve the symptoms, but a long term treatment approach will be your best bet to completely eliminate it. Otherwise the chances of the yeast infection reoccuring are pretty high.

One of the more popular and effective homeopathic solutions is yeastrol. It’s very effective at treating vaginal, penile and oral yeast infections.

What you can also do to speed your recovery is to change you diet in a way that will starve the yeast organisms (Candida).

Things that you should remove from your diet are all sodas, sugars, fruit, fermented foods, foods containing white flour, alcohol (especially beer), antacids and any product that has yeast or mold.

Things to add to your diet are live yogurt cultures (or take Acidophilus), plenty of water, fresh vegetables, lots of protein rich foods, whey protein, raw garlic, nuts, seeds, oils, millet, rice and oat brans

Another thing to keep in mind is that both you and your partner should consider the diet change/yeastrol treatment as you can be passing the infection back and forth between you.

Hope this helps and best of luck! :)

yeast infection sore throat
Is this a Yeast Infection?

i am in my second trimester of being pregnant and earlier this week i had gone to the doctors for a sore throat he said i had strep and prescribed me some antibiotics. A couple days later my inner vaginal lips and clitoral area started to itch like crazy. I then found out that i didnt have strep but i had mono. Anyway…My clitoris area itches quite badly and is starting to sting now and the lips are inflammed and swollen. (probably from the itching) i am just curious to if this is a yeast infection, i dont have any different kind of discharge and no smell, just severe itching and slight burning.

i would call my OB but its weekend and they are closed.

Hi,

No more allergic ‘foods’ or meds and ‘IF’ fungal/thrush – Monistat and better micro-nutritional absorption in the gut should clear it up.

Sounds like the skin reactions that I was having two to three years ago right after I poisoned my liver from too much and too many toxic micro-nutritional supplements for too long. My sleep was terrible back then when I was having severe pruritus Urticaria allergic reactions to foods antibiotic-meds skin-creams shower-water and my own sweat and who knows what other toxins, that would then also promote fungal infections and lymph gland swellings from my weakened immune system.

After several months I eventually learned to make more costly organic nutritional choices, that then allowed my immune system and organs to rebuild and get stronger so I could again get a fairly good night’s sleep.

IF YI – my own skin-pruritus-Urticaria issues have cost about $2,500 in the last three years to learn what I now know – which is that ALL skin diseases are a result of one’s micro-nutrition and/or toxic ‘absorption’ from the air skin or gut and/or hygiene and/or parasites.

Since MDs who push petrolatum meds steroids & antibiotics were not very helpful, and it ‘almost’ took too long to learn a solution, I now take a little time each week to help others understand that – more costly nutrition helps to heal one’s body – NOT meds & supplements.

Low cost micro-nutrition that weakens one’s body and immune system, will always promote diabetes types of fungal infections and itch rash diseases and almost any other disease, even if one might be very very young or a toddler or has never been ‘overweight’ in their life. [See:<> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pellagra <>]

With my own liver disease, within five minutes to four to six hours after being triggered my allergic reactions will begin and will last for a few minutes to a couple of hours and would cause small water blisters along with skin fevers and itches and then rashes and then long term scaling. When my malady was at its worst – I used to have allergic itches to my own sweat that I was burning off after showering or during exercise or when parts of my body got hot – during a time in my life when I used to have considerable toxins stored within my body fat, along with a severely weakened immune and filter systems – that for some reason would not eliminate these strong toxins into a stool. [See heat rashes at: <> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholinergic_urticaria <>.]

Monistat_7 and Desenex are moist-area anti-fungals and Monistat_Derm and Head_&_Shoulders are also anti-fungals, but you really need to do more internet research from the links I have given to better understand how difficult it is for meds alone to totally remedy serious skin maladies. After I began using too much of a thin petrolatum based skin cream I eventually checked into the ER one morning due to my ‘severely’ swollen lymph glands that made me think I might have contracted lymphoma. So only use med creams that are prescribed in a very-minimal way over a thin layer of wash water, so that one’s immune system and skin/ organs can repair and grow stronger ‘naturally’ without also poisoning one’s liver further.

Since when I was an asthmatic teen and learned I would have severe reactions when I ‘accidentally’ inhaled or used ‘any’ deodorants, and could not eat cinnamon stuff without having an anaphylactic reaction – because cinnamon has some toxins that are strong enough to substitute for pesticides, my life long triggers have taught me to use hypo-allergenic non-perfumed soaps in a minimal way and to sometimes powder different portions of my body with cornstarch to help minimize yeast infections; especially whenever my micro-nutritional absorption within my gut has been less than was ‘necessary’ to ‘adequately’ repair my body’s immune system, organs, and skin on a daily basis.

Lastly, even though I might not have answered your question as ‘specifically’ as you may have wanted, to help you with simple and concise information on ALL itch rash illnesses and for short and long term solutions to them ALL – the following link has considerable info within a ‘report’ I recently posted on Y_A:

The report is an accumulation of my own investigations into itch rash illnesses that are due to my own non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, even though I have a fairly low BMI of 26.

I truly truly hope that what you might rapidly learn in the next few minutes will help you to decide on the correct choices that will remedy your painful malady in the future.

My best to you and yours,

AI – self taught nutritionIsT ><+>[(-:]

PS – IF YI – a nutrition ranking I have learned about is posted at: <> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091101184933AA0kQ63 <>. FYI – The most nutritionally ‘dense’ foods are expensive super-boiled leafy green vegetables.
