Yeast Infection Medication Archives

I had a yeast infection and was treating it with medication that my doctor prescribed. I waited two days after I finished treatment to have sex, and now it is back again.

At least 5 days.

Yeast Infections affect nearly 75% of all people, including both men AND women, at some point in their life.

They occur when Candida, a natural fungus in the body, overgrows. Candida is normally regulated by Acidophilus (another microoganism living in the body).

When diet and hygienic conditions change, sometimes the Candida will grow out of control. This leads to a yeast infection.

Yeast Infections often show up as localized yeast infections — as in a vaginal or penile yeast infection.

They can also appear as a digestive tract disorder or skin irritation — as in Candida Overgrowth yeast infections. I’ve provided information on how to treat LOCALIZED (vaginal or penile) infections below…

The symptoms (you may not experience all of them):
- white cottage cheese-like discharge
- some odor
- dryness (can cause bleeding)
- digestive problems
- itchiness
- burning urination
- painful intercourse
- a feeling of just not being "normal"

Here are some safe, natural cures you can implement.

Avoid Sugars
Avoid sugars and complex carbs for a week. they "feed" the Candida fungus.

Clothing
If you’re not treating the infection with the Tree Tea Oil solution mentioned below, air out the infected area while you’re sleeping at night. Don’t wear underwear. Or wear cotton underwear during the day.

Grapefruit Seed Extract
Add grapefruit extract to your water during the day (raises acid levels in the body). This will decrease the candida in your body.

Probiotics
Eat probiotics like cottage cheese and yogurt. They will increase the acidophilus in your system and this in turn will fight off the candida yeast.

Hygiene
Shower frequently. Avoid scented soaps and antibacterial soaps. Don’t take baths while you have the infection. If you go to the gym, shower immediately when you get home.

Diet
Drink lots of water and eat plenty of fiber to flush the infection out of your body. As a yeast infection goes away, the candida albicans release toxins which increase symptoms temporarily. Flushing these toxins out with water will speed your recovery.

Tea Tree Oil
Apply tea tree oil to the infection by applying it to a tampon and keep it inserted overnight.

its the CANESTAN 1 day tablet for yeast infection.

No, using Canesten should not interfere with your pregnancy test results.

Presence of the hormone human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG), in your urine indicates a positive pregnancy test and if HCG is present it should give you a positive result. Be aware though that sometimes you may get false negatives due to other conditions.

ok- you have to treat the infection in the vagina, that’s gotta go- but…. be aware, when you start having the discharge from the medicine, my biggest concern of it will be the drainage getting onto the peircing and infecting it. the med itself? might dry you out a bit, and make the healing process (which is already very long to begin with on a good day) even LONGER. you are gonna have to be on the up and up on this one and keep it really clean. you must know the balance of "too much cleaning" vs. "not enough" when it comes to piercings. well, in this case, i would err on the side of too much cleaning. getting a yeast infection in a open wound is not a pretty thing.

I was prescribed medication(cream) for what I thought to be a yeast infection, but I’m experiencing abdominal pain. I had trouble sleeping because of it. I’m going to try to make a doctor’s appointment today. Apparently this is something more serious, but what?
I just spoke with a nurse over the phone who swears it’s nothing to do with the medication, even though I haven’t experienced any pain until after I took the medicine. I’m not on my period. I don’t have cramps until after my period has started(which it hasn’t). I don’t know what to do.

Who diagnosed you with candidiasis? Is it vaginal or elsewhere? What was the antifungal prescribed???? Important info you omitted.

In any case, abdominal pain and difficulty sleeping are not associated with topical antifungals but you can have the med changed if you wish.

Nothing, don’t worry you are fine. Its not like birth control that if you miss one you have a problem.

I am 17 weeks pregnant and I talked to my doctor and he said I could use over the counter medication for my yeast infection. So I bought Monistat 1 day treatment and used it last night and today I am still having problems. I was wondering how long it takes for the medicine to take effect.

Im 5 weeks and my gyno gave me a prescription for a yeast infection, but after reading the instructions and the warnings…like do not use during pregnancy…I don’t think Im going to take it.

I am still feeling burning sensation is it okay? I think I have periods now too. Should I continue that vaginal medicine when I am on periods? How long would it take to be normal?

FAQ – Anion Sanitary Napkins

How often must Anion Sanitary Napkins be changed?

For Anion Sanitary Napkins, it is advisable to change it in 4 hours, as bacteria is being eliminated and high absorbency, it will be safe to use it at a longer durations. As for other brands, it is advisable to change it in 2 hours, most of the brand does not have anti-bacteria functions and low absorbency, therefore bacteria will exist as long as the mensurial blood is on the sanitary pad. It is not good for health.

Do give yourself another choice, change the brand of your sanitary napkin for better protection.

I believe that you can do that, just use a pad instead of a tampon. Look through the instructions, just in case I’m wrong, lol.
