Yeast Infection Medicine Archives

If you’ve done the certain amount of days and you think you still have the yeast infection, it’s best to see a doctor.

It may just be normal vaginal discharge though. If it has no odor or isn’t causing any burning or itchiness, you’re fine.

I seem to have acquired a yeast infection three days into taking my medicine for my bacterial vaginal infection. What should I do? Continue taking the antibiotic gel until it’s gone and then get yeast infection medicine? Is this normal? Help.

yes sometimes depends on the brand or your condition ain’t really what it suppose to be

I have a yeast infection and I need to get some medicine. I have to get something I can get at the store though because I don’t have insurance and can’t afford to go to a doctor. I’ve had a yeast infection once in the past, like three years ago, but I used medicine from the doctor’s so I’ve never bought any at the store before, I don’t know what kind is the best. What should I get?
Ps. I always hear that if it’s someone’s first yeast infection to always go to the doc first, that store stuff is for those who’ve had them before. I’m just curious, why’s it so bad for someone who has their first infection to use store stuff if they know they have one?

When I had one before in the past, I didn’t think it was a yeast infection, I thought it was BV because the discharge wasn’t cottage cheese like…but the doc said it was a yeast infection and she would know more than me, right, and gave me one pill that I swallowed then it cleared up. But this time around the discharge is cottage cheese like..
Hmm I already said I can’t afford to go to a doctor, and that I do know this is a yeast infection, but thanks for the helpful information anyways :)

You can’t get the pill at the store, but there is cream to insert. It’s called Monastat 3 day. Generic will work fine.

i mean i treated myself for a yeast infection.Naturally it comes out for like 2 days.It doesn’t itch or burn but there is still stuff coming out.Could it be the medicine or still infected. Its more of a slime than a cottage cheese look.
i used the one day treatment.

It depends on how long the treatment is for. I have taken the 1 day treatment and although it’s very convinient, it’s not the best. My yeast infection came back and I went to my doctor and was told that the 1 days are not good to take; because, they just don’t treat for long enough. Go with the longest treatment possible – 7 days or go to the doctor and get a one-time pill to cure the yeast infection for good. Good-luck, they are not fun to deal with!!!

What is the best yeast infection medicine 2 buy over the counter?

10 pts

I like Monistat 1. It is a one time treatment you can get over the counter. It’s about 10 bucks and it works perfectly for me. I use it at night cause it can be kinda messy and as soon as I use it, I can feel it soothing the pain. The next day, I feel great! Like i never even had a yeast infection.

I have had a yeast infection before and always used the medicine to treat it. I have heard that plain sugar free yogurt can also treat it… but will it do just as good of a job? will it take longer? is it better in the long run? Please provide instructions on how to treat with plain yogurt or if the medicine is better just give your opinion. I appreciate your answers.

yes! of course it is !!!

and if you have yeast infection then you must get rid of it as soon as it is possible!!!

if you really want to get rid of yeast infection then you must follow these tips:

1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

3) Decrease or eliminate sugar and sugary foods. Sugar promotes yeast growth.

4) Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent.

5) Try gentian violet. It’s a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found in pharmacies. Swab the area with it once or twice a day. Make sure to use a thick pad – it stains everything.

6) Use an herbal douche. Combine equal amounts of sage, raspberry and comfrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. This can be combined with cider vinegar.

7) You must use herbal treatment. In that case Yeastrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of yeast infection comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that it wont reappear again!
And of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly). For me it worked very fast + I dont get yeast infections anymore…

I think I have a yeast infection…what’s the best over the counter yeast infection medication for it?

anyway if you have yeast infection – you must get rid of it as soon as it is possible!!!

if you really want to get rid of yeast infection forever then you must follow these tips:

1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Yeastrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.yeastrol.com/?aid=221781

good luck!

My friend has a 3 year old (just turned 3) who is potty trained during the day but still wears a diaper at night. She has a yeast infection diaper rash that is resistant to prescription meds. Her mom also feeds her yogurt as well as acidophiles. Nothing works. I suggested removing foods with yeast from her diet for a while and changing brands of diapers.

Any suggestions to help would be appreciated.

Those are good ideas you are doing with the yogurt( must have the live cultures) and it couldn’t hurt to refrain from yeast products. Also, really important is to tell the mom to refrain from giving bubble baths and such since the ingredients in these products can cause a nasty rash and or infection. Try an Aveeno oatmeal bath… oatmeal is very soothing to the skin. Also give her cranberry juice to drink. We did this for my nieces.
Babies in particular are prone to skin yeast infections in the diaper area, either in the perineum, on the buttocks or anywhere the diaper sits on the skin.
The proximity of wetness to the skin combined with the acidic nature of urine starts breaking down the outer layers of skin and creating good skin yeast infection conditions.

Babies and young children who are suffering from a simple diaper rash should be changed more frequently and have a diaper ointment of some kind to serve as a barrier between urine and the skin. Zinc oxide is the most frequently used because it also helps the skin to dry out, but anything that can protect the skin can help stop a skin yeast infection from developing.During an active skin yeast infection, you may find it helpful to wipe the area with witch hazel, aloe vera juice or some other astringent. Astringents help dry the skin out and shrink inflamed skin cells, so it both really can help with the symptoms and provide a remedy for the overall problem.
Just re,member, yeast thrives on moist areas so keeping very dry is the best advice. Best to your friends.
