Yeast Infection Medicine Archives

is AZO yeast infection medicine safe to take while pregnant? its those pills that are supposed to be natural or whatever and helps treat and prevent yeast infections…and does anyone know what else i can do to get rid of it? my dr told me to use monistat but i cant use those (i cant even use tampons)

Stay away from so called "natural" remedies, particularly while pregnant.

"Natural" remedies are not tested or regulated and therefore may have unknown side effects.

Also, did you tell your doctor "Hey Doc, I can’t use Monistat, what else you got"?

I had BV and my doctor gave me antibiotics. And I have not stopped bleeding because I caught my period but in addition to my regular menstrual symptoms, I had some itching and burning. My doctor told me over the phone that it’s a yeast infection but she never checked me out. So what would happen if I take those yeast infection ovules but I didn’t really have one??

If you don’t have a yeast infection, they won’t hurt anything. However, I would guess that it is a yeast infection since the antibiotics that you were given for BV killed the bad and good bacteria in your vagina, upsetting the balance and causing yeast to grow. Your doctor knows this is common with antibiotics and that’s why you were given the yeast infection medication.

My friend has a 3 year old (just turned 3) who is potty trained during the day but still wears a diaper at night. She has a yeast infection diaper rash that is resistant to prescription meds. Her mom also feeds her yogurt as well as acidophiles. Nothing works. I suggested removing foods with yeast from her diet for a while and changing brands of diapers.

Any suggestions to help would be appreciated.

Sugary foods and drinks can make yeast worse.. also try letting her wear loose cotton pants during the day with no underwear. She def needs to get "some air down there"…
ALSO BUBBLE BATHS are really bad for little girls and can irritate them worse warm water and gentle washing down there…Sounds like your friend is doing the best she can, yogurt and probiotics would’ve been my top choice remedies…

The over-the-counter stuff

I don’t know why not since they go in different places they should not interfere with each other.

best wishes..

I’m on an antibiotic and got a yeast infection. Can I take over the counter medicine like Monistat, while still on an antibiotic?
Does it matter which one i get? Meaning If i have 7 days of antibiotics left if i get the three day monistat will the infection come back?

Yep!
In fact, back in the days when you needed a prescription, if my doctor gave me a prescription for antibiotics, I always asked him to give me one for Monistat at the same time, since the odds were high that I’d need it. He always obliged.
Sometimes I did not need it, but there was no problem using it if I did.

Next time you are prescribed antibiotics, try eating a cup or two of yoghurt every day you are on the antibiotics. It sometimes helps keep the "good" bacteria count high enough to kill the yeast before it starts.

Ok, I’ve never had a yeast infection before. But i think I have one. But im not totally sure since I have never had one before. I would go to the doctor but it’s kind of embarrassing and I don’t want someone I dont know looking in me. So I just went out and bought a box of monistat 7. And just want to make sure if i do use it and i don’t have a yeast infection if anything bad could happen to me. And if so what?

What may happen is that you may have a reaction to the medication trying to act on perfectly healthy cells, or when you are really ready to use it, it may not work

didnt work. what is it? i am 15 and i have never had sex. i have had this discharge for forever. help me. i havent gone to the doctors about it though. and its smelly and itches at times and is really goo-y. helpp

It means that you may have a different kind of infection such as bacterial vaginosis going on (an example only).

I would recommend letting your mom know what’s going on so that she can help you keep an eye on this.

I’m almost sure I have a yeast infection. I have medicine but I would like to know how long i take the medicine? Do i only take it once? Or do I keep take it until it goes away? Help please?

get monistat 1….one time thing! and it goes within 2 days( but sometimes there are chances that it will come back too)

please reply
is it okay to take yeast infection medicine if you are not sure about that you have it. coz i feel itchy in vagina and lil burning sunsetion.

I’m not sure. If they are acidic you can use them with this treatment. It’s a lot cheaper than store bought cures.

You may want to begin this treatment with a vinegar douche. Then, in a water tight container, combine 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water. Add cotton balls. Use these as you would a tampon, I like it dripping wet. This helps to soothe the outside. Change it every time you urinate so you change it often enough.

From now on, you may want to start this treatment whenever you start any antibiotic so you don’t get yeast.

I’ve been using this for 35 years, and it’s a small miracle.

peace

if so which one should i use????

use an antibacterial oil such as tea tree

3 drops tea tree
1 drop of almond oil

when washing hair add the oil mixture to your shampoo and use as normal.

do this once per day.
