Yeast Infection Medicine Archives

I like the generic equivalent of Monistat in the 3 day combination pack treatment. The combination pack is good because you get an ointment for daytime along with the nightime treatment. I find the 1 day to not be long enough to work and the 7 days to be too long. 3 days is a good compromise.

Something preferbly under $15. And any type of applicator…pills…ect.

And yes I know it’s a yeast infection, I don’t want to waste money getting a prescription.

I want it to clear it up, not protect against them, I’ve seen those and accidently bought one.
And fast, I don’t want to wait 2 weeks. And I’ve tried Vagisil to cover the symptoms up, but it did nothing.

Monistat!!! It is a life saver!! They have 3 day now. The first night it may burn but one day of burning beats the weeks of burning!!! Hope you feel better. (Oh and I’d stay away from the tablet kind, the cream seems to work better)

Can I use it anytime(I don’t mean like time of day) or just when I’m on my period? How do I know if it’s all gone? I thought I had mine finally taken care off but then I noticed it was still there.

I assume you are using an over the counter medicine like Monistat. You can use it any time that you experience symptoms of a yeast infection, like itching, redness and pain. I always get the Monistat 7, which gives a thorough treatment for a week. Avoid sex while treating for a yeast infection or you can pass it to your partner and he may not have any symptoms but can give it back to you. Always put the medicine in right before you get into bed so it doesn’t drain out and will have all night to do its work.

best wishes..

I recently purchased the 3 day Miconazole Nitrate Cream (4%) yeast infection medicine from Walgreens. I am wondering if i can use all three doses in one day to make the medicine work better and stronger? It sounds like a good idea to use one after the other throughout the day. What do you think?

Hi there,

If you change your mind and want to try some natural therapies for your yeast infection I have some suggestions below for you.

There are many things you need to start doing and addressing if you are suffering from a yeast infection. To start, do the following:

1. Wear loose clothing and undergarments, oxygen kills yeast, going commando and wearing nothing down there if possible is even better.

2. Get some unsweetened yogurt and rub it onto a tampon, insert the tampon and do this continually until the yeast infection is gone.

3. Cut out any and all sugar, alcohol and yeast from your diet. All three will promote the infection further.

4. Start drinking cranberry juice, pure not from concentrate with no added sugar, I know this goes against the no sugar thing but the acid content in the cranberries will alter the PH balance of your vagina and cause the yeast to die off.

5. If you can tolerate it, use a raw garlic clove and apply it to the infection, this may burn so dilute it with some olive or coconut oil, both of which can also help eliminate the yeast, especially the coconut.

6. You can also try taking some vitamin B3, many women find their infections resolve quicker when they are taking 300mg/per day.

7. Take a probiotic with at least 50 billion live cells per pill, this is key in redistributing good bacteria throughout your body, and effectively end the yeast infection. You must do this continually until you have eliminated your yeast infections and Candida entirely.

8. Lastly if all else fails, begin adding 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to a bath. Only fill the tub up high enough to submerge your genital area. Stay in the tub for 20-30 minutes at a time.

Hope this helps, the yogurt is the key really, by putting good bacteria directly on the area you will eliminate it quickly. Make sure it is unsweetened and ideally keep an eye out for a variation called Kefir which has even more beneficial bacteria in it to snuff out the infection.

I think Monistat 1 is the only Y.I. medicine you can take. It has to be at night but why wold you want to take stuff during the day? Got a hott date tonight and need a fixing b4 then? lol Sorry
Takes a few days to clear. Y.I can be contagious at males as well.

i don’t have any insurance and can’t afford the doctor bill so i need an over the counter medicine to take care of it.

For an internal infection (vaginal) the monostat line.

Anything external, lotrimine, lamisil, or any of those. You can also use a store brand anti fungal. It will say ‘anti fungal’. There will be different ones saying for athletes foot, or jock itch. They are all the same medicine, treating the same fungi – candida.

I havnt tried it, but I have been told that a few drops of grapefruit seed oil diluted in about a cup of water, smoothed over effected skin will help. Also heard applying crushed garlic. Doc said that while there was no real evidence those would work, it was safe to try.

I don’t have any idea about your problem. However, I came across a blog about yeast infection. Hope you find your answer there.

It makes me itch more and burn more? Am i allergic to the cream?

You need to go the Natural way. In some cases you may have to take a trip to the Doctor. It is very probable you can cure it on your own. I suggest reading the "Natural Cure for Yeast Infection" .

I have been them for a week. I have a 3 days cure by monistate. how long after my last dose of antibiotics should I start the Monistat?

right away. if doesn’t help, ask dr for diflucan-pill. can take a few days to get better

I took the medicine Thursday night, Friday I felt a tad relief in the itching department but now it’s Saturday and I’ve been itching like crazy. How long before the symptoms go away, I used the brand 1 Day, I’ve used it before, but I don’t remember how long it took last time.

Virtually any medication should clear it up in 7 days, but you should start to see results sooner. If the symptoms persist, I suggest you see a doctor. Get well soon!
