Yeast Infection Medicine Archives

I took the medicine Thursday night, Friday I felt a tad relief in the itching department but now it’s Saturday and I’ve been itching like crazy. How long before the symptoms go away, I used the brand 1 Day, I’ve used it before, but I don’t remember how long it took last time.

Virtually any medication should clear it up in 7 days, but you should start to see results sooner. If the symptoms persist, I suggest you see a doctor. Get well soon!

I haven’t had a yeast infection in years, since I was living in the states. I seem to have one again and can not find anything like Monistat around. I looked in Superdrug and Boots. I used to just go to the grocery store to find this, so I am not sure where to go here. Can someone tell me what to do? thanks!

You will have to ask at the pharmacy counter they are not sold off the shelf, but they are freely available (well you have to pay but no restrictions). So if your Boots or Superdrug have a pharmacy counter there or any chemists.

I used a one dose injected cream. I inserted it fully right before I went to sleep to make sure that the medicine wouldn’t come out. However when I woke up this morning there was a great deal of the cream on the exterior of my vagina. Why did this happen, and can I be sure that the medicine has still worked?

Hi there,

The Cream can leak out unless you elevate your posterior, use some towels or sheets. If all else fails I can suggest some natural remedies which will cost you next to nothing and have a huge track record of success. You can use these in addition with the medical treatment you’re using right now as well.

There are many things you need to start doing and addressing if you are suffering from a yeast infection. To start, do the following:

1. Wear loose clothing and undergarments, oxygen kills yeast, going commando and wearing nothing down there if possible is even better.

2. Get some unsweetened yogurt and rub it onto a tampon, insert the tampon and do this continually until the yeast infection is gone.

3. Cut out any and all sugar, alcohol and yeast from your diet. All three will promote the infection further.

4. Start drinking cranberry juice, pure not from concentrate with no added sugar, I know this goes against the no sugar thing but the acid content in the cranberries will alter the PH balance of your vagina and cause the yeast to die off.

5. If you can tolerate it, use a raw garlic clove and apply it to the infection, this may burn so dilute it with some olive or coconut oil, both of which can also help eliminate the yeast, especially the coconut.

6. You can also try taking some vitamin B3, many women find their infections resolve quicker when they are taking 300mg/per day.

7. Take a probiotic with at least 50 billion live cells per pill, this is key in redistributing good bacteria throughout your body, and effectively end the yeast infection. You must do this continually until you have eliminated your yeast infections and Candida entirely.

8. Lastly if all else fails, begin adding 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to a bath. Only fill the tub up high enough to submerge your genital area. Stay in the tub for 20-30 minutes at a time.

Hope this helps, the yogurt is the key really, by putting good bacteria directly on the area you will eliminate it quickly. Make sure it is unsweetened and ideally keep an eye out for a variation called Kefir which has even more beneficial bacteria in it to snuff out the infection.

Fluconazole comes as a tablet and a suspension (liquid) to take by mouth. It is usually taken once a day. You may need to take only one dose of fluconazole, or you may need to take fluconazole for several weeks or longer. The length of your treatment depends on your condition and on how well you respond to fluconazole. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand. Take fluconazole exactly as directed. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor. This from http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/medmaster/a690002.html I have had some success in keeping my body regulated by eating probiotic foods (yogurt or other foods with active culture; Kefir is very high in it…sort of like buttermilk). Good luck and make sure you follow through with your doctor because if only the strong survive, then the strongest yeast are going to be the hardest to kill if you let your antibiotic therapy not finish the job.

My yeast infection medicine isn’t working and I have two refills left. I just took it last night, should I order a second refill already or just wait a few more days. I am still having the persistent itching.

Unfortunately, I’ve been diagnosed with chronic yeast infections so I know what you’re going through. The medication can take a few days to make you feel better. The itching is caused by the discharge because it irritates your skin. Wash yourself gently with lukewarm water and smear on some protroleum jelly (don’t be shy about it-use far more than you’d put on chapped lips). Washing will remove the discharge that’s there and the jelly will protect your skin from the discharge as it continues to ooze. When you have a chance, you can buy some anti-itch cream that’s intended for yeast infections. Personally it think if you wash first, vasciline works fine until you’re better. Also, my doctor suggested that I eat yogurt everyday or take a daily suppliment that has the same good bacteria as yogurt; it’s called acidopholis. It adds bacteria to your system that can naturally fight off the excess yeast and reduce/prevent yeast infections.

If you didn’t have a yeast infection but you took the medicine anyways.

I don’t think anything would happen at all. They are just made to treat a yeast infection. It wouldn’t hurt you at all.

I just finished a one dose treatment of yeast medicine and had sex the next day do I need to worry about the nuvaring being less effective? I don’t want to get pregnant help pls.

No, this medication wouldn’t interfere with letting the Nuvaring release hormones as normal.

My girl friend has a yeast infection. How would you ask the pharmacist for the medicine in chinese?
We are living in Beijing, so I would like to know how to ask in Mandarin.

tĂș g?n r?n "yeast infection" you could try the generic name for typical medications… they are smiliar throught the world… for yeast infections it would be Miconazole Nitrate which is Monistat as the trade name. GOOD LUCK!!!

My doctor gave me a medicine, pill, that I take only once…and it treats yeast infections. However, I still have a yeast infection. So he told me to get Monistat 7 day formula and that should work? I would like to know if anyone has anyother suggestions because I’m tired of having one and it burns when me and my husband have sex…which is obviously-not a good thing. Do others recommend Monistat 7 for a really bad yeast infection or another brand or something else. Please help!

All the medicine in the world will not prevent your husband from reinfecting you. Yes, he can harbor the infection with no effect on himself, but he will reinfect you when you have sex again. Ask your doctor about this and see what he can recommend for BOTH of you.
