Yeast Infection Rash Archives

My son has a yeast infection and the doctor gave me medication for it. Sometimes it seems like it is going away but then other times it looks worse than befor. Could it possibly be the diapers? I use pampers swaddlers and I’m trying to figure out if they have anything in them because of the smell, (kinda like baby powder). Has anyone else had this problem? It’s been 7 days and I’ve put it on him 3/d like the dr said.

poor little guy, my son has one too, same situation, he’s had three different Rx topical antifungal creams because they do what you are describing. it could be a number of things. i found that using warm washcloths instead of baby wipes helped a lot. also lay him on a towel for a few minutes a day, everyday, with no diaper on. change him as soon as you notice he needs it. make sure that his diaper is not on too snugly so that the air can circulate in his diaper area. good luck to your little guy.

My baby has a yeast infection diaper rash and doctors prescription fungal cream aint working.?
:( ((((((((( plz help.I have kept his rectal area exposed to air and am cleaning it everytime he poops. Will he be cured soon.Plz help

How long have you been treating it? Maybe you just haven’t given it long enough. Try letting him soak in the bath once or twice a day in addition to what you are doing. That usually helps my son by soothing him, plus making sure the area is much cleaner. If you are using baby wipes, know they they may be leaving a residue on him which isn’t helping anything. The pharmacist told me not to use wipes when my son has this kind of rash, but to use a wet washcloth instead. If it’s not better by the end of the weekend, see the doctor again in case it’s something else.

rash looks like dry skin but down there, so im wandering

yeasty, peely, itchy…

1st its not an std. im married and pregnant which means Ive been tested before and since im pregnant..tested recently. I had a yeast infection that tried to treat using OTC cream for. after day 3 I shaved my entire vaginal area as I always do and noticed that after a few days I started getting a rash on my inner thighs where the vagina meets the thigh(that crease). Ive been to the DR because the rash was getting worse and was getting raw from me scratching, so she gave me a RX for terconazole 7. and told me to use it on my rash. as well as inside the vagina. My question is how long before the rash stops itching. I have been using the cream about 2 to 3 times a day, and tonite will be my 3rd day. It seems to be itching more since ive been using it…but also looks to be drying out cause its getting darker and looks to be scabbing a bit (im a caramel tone black female just so you understand my complexion) but it still itches like crazy. when should I expect the itching to stop? or any tips on stopping the itching inbetween using the cream?
BTW when I said I use the cream 2-3times a day I am talking about putting cream on my rash, I insert it in my vagina as prescribed (1x a day before bed)

Could be a change in soaps or a reaction to something contacting your skin. You said you do not have an std but just FYI herpes can present as a rash that spreads and have scabs.Go to your doctor and tell them you are having more problems.

my hubby too the baby to the doctor and is going to pick up the prescription but i want to know for myself if aveeno baby or eucerin can be used as an everyday lotion to cure the eczema part?

Do not skimp on the lotion. WHen our son was dx with moderate eczema we at first tried generics…the allergist suggested we stop that. We now use Lubriderm but Eucerin works great too!! Just make sure it has no dyes or perfumes as this is highly likely to aggravate the already sensitive skin. We also switched bath soaps to Dove sensitive-the green bar and laundry soap to All Free and Clear.

I got what the ER doc said was a yeast infection rash on my lower abdomen from sweating from low grade fevers. He said to keep it dry so I tried that, didn’t help. I started using yeast infection cream like miconazole cream (which is the same thing as monistat uses), and please note, this is not a vaginal yeast infection, it is on my abdomen, and I have been doing this for 4 days now and its still not going away, what should I do, my doctors office isn’t open until later today and Im not going back to urgent care or the ER, its too expensive, any other ideas?? Thanks in advance!

Your body is trying to get rid of the yeast overgrowth in your system. You need to work on it from the inside out.

Cut out as much sugar and white flour products as you can and stay away from fruits for a day or two. Eat lots of veg. and maybe take a gentle intestinal cleanse or fiber product. (Heatlh food stores have many low cost products that work well.)

Adolphus is important to put back into the digestive system. You can get it in yogurt or a pill.

Yeast infections are yucky!

The red bumps are above his penis and I have been putting diaper rash cream on it for over a week!!!

If regular diaper rash cream with 40% zinc oxide, like desitin, isn’t helping (you should notice a big difference in just 2 days) it’s mostly yeast.

Make a doctor appointment for your little one to get some Nystatin ointment. If you have to wait a while for the appointment some monostat cream will help some.

Here are some links to pix–the 1st shows diaper rash and yeast rash-the 2nd is the best quality pic of yeast rash.

my son is 13 months old. He was recently taking antibiotics and now he has a diaper rash. I read that this is sometimes caused by a yeast infection that comes from taking antibiotics. He has had the rash for 3 days now and I need to know if this requires a different type of treatment than a regular diaper rash. Should I take him to the doctor or will regular diaper rash ointment take care of this?

I tried every type of cream and ointment for diapering that you can find OTC with my girls…..they would get down right red and would scream when they had a wet diaper. One night on a whim, I decided to try a dab of monistat on the affected area, and then powdered over the top of that nice and heavy and by the next morning SO MUCH better!

This was like 4-5 years ago…..before they suddenly realized that not all "diaper rash", is actually a diaper rash! If you have some on hand, try just a little dab of it…you don’t need as much as you do the diaper rash ointment/creams.

Good luck!

BTW~~~My ped. was totally fine with treating it that way too.

I have a yeast infection. (Yes I know yuck). Is it normal for a yeast infection to also give you an icthy bumpy rash in the surrounding area?
Its going near the inside of the crack lol

Is that normal?

its the herp, your done for

I have a 1 year old son and he has a rash and I don’t know whether it is diaper rash or a yeast infection from antibotics or a combination of both. What are some home remedies that will help clear it up and clear it up fast because he is in pain and my head is in pain from listening to him scream when I change his diaper

HOME remedies?? :) Got it.

**At every diaper change, put PLAIN yogurt on his rash. The good bacteria help restore the balance the antibiotics messed up.

**Shallow baths of water and vinegar (white or apple cider are the two I prefer). Vinegar is great at fighting yeast.

**Feed him plain yogurt as well, or give him an acidophilus supplement.

Good luck! I battled thrush so I feel his pain!!!!!!!!! :(
