Yeast Infection Remedy Archives

I took an antibiotic for an infection (not related to female health) and it not only killed the bad bacteria- it killed the good bacteria too….now, I have a yeast infection!

I read online at http://www.msu.edu/~eisthen/yeast/yourself.html
that tree tea oil is wonderful for yeast infections.

I am not sure about this-but I was willing to give it a try. Has anyone ever used tea tree oil and does it really work for vaginal yeast infections? Are there any side effects of using tea tree oil (other than the slight burning)?

How long should I continue to use this? I was thinking two days may be three days at the max. Does it kill the yeast or would I have to resort to the over-the-counter remedy like Monostat?

Any advice from a nurse or doctor would be great. If anyone has any information about the natural side of remedies-please let me know.

I am not into natural remedies-but I do believe that they can work for some people.

I too was a victim of antibiotics! They definitely wreck havoc on your immune system and cause all types of other problems, including yeast infections.

I tried a variety of treatments. First I tried monistat and the infection kept coming back. Then I went to the Dr, and tried diflucan and gynelotrimin and that helped for a while but then the infection kept coming back. Then I tried tea tree oil suppositories and that worked pretty good. But one thing that gave me the best and lasting results was garlic.

Garlic is one of natures’ anti-fungal remedies and it worked wonders for me. I used cloves of garlic wrapped in gauze and inserted maybe an inch or two into the vagina. Inserted with enough of the gauze still hanging out for safe removal. I would insert a new clove every 3-4 hours. I did this for about five days. The itching went away almost immediately. Also if you mash the garlic a little it help to release the juices. Not too much because then it will burn.

I had to recommend because I was suffering from almost constant yeast infections, maybe 12 per year. Now it has been about 8 months with no infection. I am sooo happy about that.

Another major thing is to watch your diet. Too much sugar, soda and sweets might also be contributing to your problem. Among other things. Well, good luck to you.

My little pug has a yeast infection in the folds of her face and I am looking for an at home remedy to treat it. I am low on money until February and I would prefer to treat this at home.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the yeast infection in a pugs face folds??

PS, If it continually gets worse I will take my pet to the vet. It doesn’t seem to be bothering her right now and if I can treat this without taking her to the vet I want to try it first.
I have some anti fungal cream that is still within the expiry date that I used and came with a yeast infection kit.

Is that ok to apply?? I also heard that yogurt might help…..but for her to eat or to apply to the folds?

Apple cider vinegar works really well. It may not smell that great when you first put it on but the smell goes away very quickly. The best is organic from the health food store. Most grocery store brands aren’t really even vinegar any more. And its about the only thing safe enough to use around the eyes. Be sure you dry the folds out really well after cleaning them that will help also. This might hold you over till you can get to the vet.
EDIT: Please don’t use athletes foot cream around the eyes. You could damage her eye permanently.
EDIT: If its human antifungal cream for a vaginal yeast infection no you can’t use it. Even though it may be yeast in her face folds its not the same kind of yeast. You have to be very careful what you use around the eyes.

I have a yeast infection and i bought the 3 day suppositories, but i forgot and skipped a day and now the infection is back. Everyone tells me to get a pill from the dr and do that.I would rather stick to older things on the market or home remedies,i did hear vinegar and yogurt mixed for a douche was good to use, has anyone ever heard of this?I may just call my dr. monday and get the pill but for now and tomorrow i wanted some relief. thanks

Hi there,

Both Vinegar and yogurt can be used and you can mix them together and create a douche as well, but I would try some of my other suggestions first before aggressively douching.

In which case, here are some natural tips and suggestions for you.

There are many things you need to start doing and addressing if you are suffering from a yeast infection. To start, do the following:

1. Wear loose clothing and undergarments, oxygen kills yeast, going commando and wearing nothing down there if possible is even better.

2. Get some unsweetened yogurt and rub it onto a tampon, insert the tampon and do this continually until the yeast infection is gone.

3. Cut out any and all sugar, alcohol and yeast from your diet. All three will promote the infection further.

4. Start drinking cranberry juice, pure not from concentrate with no added sugar, I know this goes against the no sugar thing but the acid content in the cranberries will alter the PH balance of your vagina and cause the yeast to die off.

5. If you can tolerate it, use a raw garlic clove and apply it to the infection, this may burn so dilute it with some olive or coconut oil, both of which can also help eliminate the yeast, especially the coconut.

6. You can also try taking some vitamin B3, many women find their infections resolve quicker when they are taking 300mg/per day.

7. Take a probiotic with at least 50 billion live cells per pill, this is key in redistributing good bacteria throughout your body, and effectively end the yeast infection. You must do this continually until you have eliminated your yeast infections and Candida entirely.

8. Lastly if all else fails, begin adding 2 cups of apple cider vinegar to a bath. Only fill the tub up high enough to submerge your genital area. Stay in the tub for 20-30 minutes at a time.

Hope this helps, the yogurt is the key really, by putting good bacteria directly on the area you will eliminate it quickly. Make sure it is unsweetened and ideally keep an eye out for a variation called Kefir which has even more beneficial bacteria in it to snuff out the infection.

When all is said and done I would suggest you research Candida and take a test to determine if you are suffering from it, as anyone who gets yeast infections has Candida, it’s just a matter of how bad it is.

I want to know about natural remedy for pyeast infection patient story. This natural remedy really can eliminate this fungal infection. I know a person who have recurrent yeast infection with poor respond to anti-fungal medication and antibiotics.

Some anti biotics actually cause yeast infection. Yogurt, probiotics, acidophillus and cranberry juice (real juice, not the coctail blend) should help

I think i may have a yeast infection. I looked up the symptoms and it seems as though i may have it. However i would like to know if there is an at home remedy rather than a cream or medication.
Also, if i let it heal alone, will it take very long?
at this point right now, it is not too bad, its just uncomfortable and i´d just rather not have it.

my symptoms: Very itchy at times, discharge that is sometimes white, more discharge than normal

Thanks for your help!

If you do nothing, it will probably take your period to stop the infection. Don’t use tampons during the period.

Also, don’t scratch it as it will make it worse.

You can try a couple of things.

* Vinegar & Water Douche
* Tea Tree Oil & Water Douche
* Yogurt – External & Internal
* Inner Health Tablets (take a lot when you’ve got an infection – I’ve done 10 a day)
* Garlic Tablets
* Diet – eat less Sugar as this feeds the candida & don’t eat anything with Yeast in it (Beer, bread etc)

If you skin is really sore, put some vaseline to stop the rubbing.

However, it would be best to go see a doctor. It maybe something else that may need attention.
