Yeast Infections Treatment Archives

HELP!!! ITS STUCK!!! I used Monistat 1 inside me, and it is still coming out!?!?!? How long does it take to come out of me!?!?!?!

relax! it will come out by itself! :)

anyway if you really want to get rid of yeast infection then you must follow these tips:

1) Eat yogurt!!!! It contains helpful bacteria (live cultures, including acidophilus and bifidus) that destroy yeast. Use only plain yogurt with active cultures.

2) Douche with a solution of 1 to 3 tbsp. vinegar in a quart of water. Repeat once a day while having symptoms, but no longer than a week.

3) Decrease or eliminate sugar and sugary foods. Sugar promotes yeast growth.

4) Use a garlic clove as a suppository. Garlic contains a natural anti-fungal agent.

5) Try gentian violet. It’s a traditional remedy for yeast and other infections, and can be found in pharmacies. Swab the area with it once or twice a day. Make sure to use a thick pad – it stains everything.

6) Use an herbal douche. Combine equal amounts of sage, raspberry and comfrey with 1/4 part goldenseal. This can be combined with cider vinegar.

7) You must use herbal treatment. In that case Yeastrol is really good (probably the best) product that gets rid of yeast infection comparatively fast and makes you feel more confident knowing that it wont reappear again!
And of course it is better if you use full course (5 months – if I remember correctly). For me it worked very fast + I dont get yeast infections anymore (almost 2 years) …

I used a 1200 mg monistat ovule last night for a yeast infection. this morning i was in horrible pain. awful itching, burning, stinging. i applied yogurt and felt relief besides a feeling of warmth inside my vagina. a second time i used the tampon method after scooping what i could of the yeast(and possibly some of the monistat)out in the shower. if i have plans for the night, will the relief from these two treatments likely last until tomorrow?

The itching, burning and stinging are all due to the effect the vaginal candidiasis has on the vaginal membranes. They’re inflamed. The 1200mg ovule is Monistat 1 day Day & Night. It’s a one time dose and will likely resolve the infection permanently. If yogurt helps, you can continue to use it or you can speak to your doctor about a topical cream to supply immediate symptom relief for the symptoms.

My wife has been suffering on and off from yeast infections for the past couple of months. Our neighbor told her to try yogurt with live cultures in it. Has anyone else tried this?

We’ve been having some difficulty. What is the best way to get the yogurt into the vagina? I’ve just been helping her by using a spoon. Also, what is the best way to keep the yogurt in the vagina? We’ve been taping over the area after applying a pad.

Thanks

Um, food doesn’t belong there…and neither do spoons. I’m guessing your neighbor is neither a doctor nor an OBGYN.

last night i started a 3 day treatment for yeast infection, when is it safe to have sex again?

You should wait at least until the treatment is done, and you are no long experiencing yeast infection symptoms. The reason for this is that you can give your partner your yeast infection if you have sex with him before the infection is completely gone.

EDIT: I’d also like to add that if you are using condoms as your main form of birth control, having sex while you are using the treatment would be ill-advised as some yeast infection medications break down the latex condom, making it much more likely to break, making it much more likely for you to become pregnant.

Two nights ago, I used the Canesten vaginal tablet to treat a yeast infection. I know that you can have sex after the treatment but it reduces the effectiveness of condoms/spermicide, which is the method that my boyfriend and I use. If we have intercourse this upcoming Friday (March 13), will the condoms still be less effective? If so, when will they be as effective again? Thanks

They say to wait at least 1 week before having sex again after having a yeast infection and treatments. You could have sex using just the condom, it will be effective but I am not so sure about the spermicide.

Actually, I prefer to take Diflucan, which is a prescription oral anti-yeast medication. If I want to get a running start on killing off the excess yeast, though, I’ll use a 3 or 7 day treatment. I’m diabetic, some of my medications make my blood sugar go up, so my yeast infections are harder to treat than the average woman’s.

I’d say to go with what works for you. If you have good results with a one day treatment, then use that. It’s certainly more convenient.

It usually takes a week or so, but if you’ve had it for awhile and didn’t realize you’ve had it and then are treating it, it will take longer =(…if you still feel sore in that region even after a week, don’t panic, it’s because you had it for so longer that area is sensitive and will take longer to heal =) I’ve had my share of them, that’s how I know =)

Is it just to prevent messes? Can I use it during the day? It’s not like my body knows what time of day it is. I’m using the ovules btw, not the cream. I always use ovules.

It simply keeps the medicine still while it goes to work. You donĀ“t have to opt in to Monistat however. There are plenty of safer and more dependable natural treatments…

The symptoms (you may not experience all of them):
- white cottage cheese-like discharge
- some odor
- dryness (can cause bleeding)
- digestive problems
- itchiness
- burning urination
- painful intercourse
- a feeling of just not being "normal"

Here are some safe, natural cures you can implement.

- avoid scented soaps
- avoid sugars and complex carbs for a week
- air out the infected area while you’re sleeping at night
- add grapefruit extract to your water during the day (balances hormones)
- eat probiotics like cottage cheese and yogurt
- shower frequently
-drink lots of water and eat plenty of fiber to flush the infection

I just started 7 days treatment last night and all day today ive have yellow and green looking discharge…i dont if it normal or something else, this is my first yeast infection and i am 13 weeks pregnant
My doctor told me and i just started a 7 day treatment last night….the discharge green and yellow…and is coming out of me like as in a period type of flow

I am sorry…but, there is NOTHING normal about having a green and yellow discharge Especially when you are pregnant.. You may have Trich. GET to the DR ASAP. I am wondering. who diagnosed the yeast infection.you or the DR.?

I am 29 weeks pregnant..and I keep trying to get an appt to see my doctor for a yeast infection but they keep telling me to call back the next day..its been a week now and this is driving me insane! Its getting worse..Is it not safe to use the over the counter kind? Is there really a difference between that and the prescription kind??

I was told by my OB that it was fine to use Monistat and other over the counter treatments for yeast infections. There is no harm! I would run to walgreens and get some!!
