Get your friend to the vet. He is in misery and you want to try home remedies how cruel can you be. You have let it go on too long already. You could have maybe tried something else in the early stages but now it is too late. Go to the vet ASAP.

Not only have I had these but a bladder infection and cysts on my ovary’s. All very painful.
I have found the over the counter stuff to be a waste of money, however it has been some time since my last one, maybe they are better now?
The best thing to do is go to a doctor, doesn’t have to be your doctor (though it would be nice for it to be).
After you get this one cleared up (if it is just a yeast infection) consider eating some yogurts,cranberry juice (the real stuff is the best and what I drink, though there is that cocktail stuff).
Also tight clothing, jeans, underwear, swim suites also contribute to infections. So keep this in mind.

First of all sorry to hear that – It sometimes sucks to be a female! From what you are describing, it sounds very much like a yeast infection rather than a bladder or urinary tract infection. An ice pack will relieve the itching but it won’t cure it. A yeast infection only gets worse in terms of the itching and burning and you may want to see a doctor, just to rule out any other type of infection. Monistat is an over the counter remedy that works very well to get rid of yeast infections. The other thing, if you want a natural remedy is plain yogurt (no flavoring) with the live cultures. Start eating a ton of it and believe it or not, I put some on a pad (like Always) so the yogurt was in direct contact ‘down there.’ I had to do this when I was pregnant because the doctor wouldn’t prescribe anything for me. Ok, so for 1 year and 3 months now, I have had a reocurring yeast infection once a month. It is very painfull and aggravating to the point where I feel I am a lost case. Ive been to the gynecologist and he has given me diflucan and terconazole, whick is all precribed medication. It works for about 3 to 4 weeks and then It comes back again. Hes done a pap smear and it says that it IS a yeast infection. I am also a type 1 diabetic and i know it has a lot to do with it, but i cant tolerate having this every month. Ive even tried 3 different types of herbal pills names candistroy, candida detox, and i cant remember the name of the last one but they dont work. This Sounds something like I went through many years ago. I had a yeast infection every month for about as long as you. I began to see a pattern. It turned out to be the tampons I was using (Tampax). I changed to Kotex and have never had a yeast infection again from tampons. Of course the antibiotics are another story Try looking for some sort of patters to find the root cause of why it keeps coming back.. Good luck

Usually its one part vinegar to 9 or 10 parts water. Cider vinegar with “the mother” is best. You can also use lemon juice, same ratio.
You should put 1/3-1/2 cup vinegar in the rinse of your diaper loads (and actually all laundry) it will not only kill yeast but it will reduce soap build up and soften clothes. Sun drying is also highly effective for killing yeast.
Another thing is that you need to treat yeast for at least two weeks after all symptoms are gone or it will just come back.
Probiotics also help bring the body back into balance to prevent yeast overgrowth. They can be applied directly (or use yogurt). But they should also be taken internally. If you are breastfeeding and the baby is under 6 months mom should take them. Otherwise give them directly there are special instant dissolve ones for toddlers which are nice since they don’t require refrigeration. Or you can use adult ones, just crack them open and put the powder right in baby’s mouth (its sweet) or mix with food (It won’t dissolve in liquid really).

I dont know whats going on down south. It all started with sore nipples for about a week then a few days after that went away, i became very itchy below! The only way to cure it is to go to the store and get some medicine or have the doctor prescribe something. Yogurt will only make the infection worse, especially if it has sugar in it (sugar can cause yeast infections).
