yeast infection on men
Can men get yeast infections all on their own or do they ONLY get them from their female partners ?

If men can get them on their own – what are some reasons ? Would being a diabetic be one of them ?

Would a man who has been diabetic for a long long long time – have yeast infections – or is that unusual .?

Yes men can get yeast infections on there own, they just aren’t as common as females. They are caused by the yeast that is naturally present in the body to overgrow. And yes diabetes is a factor that can increase the chances of getting yeast infections due to the high levels of sugar in the urine. So the diabetic you speak of is at greater risk for a yeast infection than a non-diabetic.

What are the symptoms of thrush (yeast infection) in men?

I just got over this. I thought I was going to scratch the skin off my body, and my body was red for a few days after I started taking medicine.

can tounge bacteria cause a uti or yeast infection?

I didnt know i had such a bad bacteria problem in my mouth (i thought it was just food or something on my tounge) until recently, but a few months ago, my girlfriend got a urinary tract & yeast infection. Could these be related?

“yeast” infections are caused by various species of a yeast-like fungus called Candida. Certain conditions, such as antibiotic use, may upset the balance of microbes in the body and allow an overgrowth of Candida. Yeast also can thrive in chronically moist folds of skin, such as in the groin.

Outbreaks of thrush may be the result of an increased use of antibiotics rather than newly acquired Candida infections. In children (and adults) taking antibiotics or steroids (such as cortisone-related asthma medications), the balance of microbes in the mouth can be disturbed. This may cause an overgrowth of Candida, which in turn results in oral thrush.

my advise to both of you is to get some medical attention and clear that up.

What is a natural way of curing a yeast infection?

Hiya peoples!
Is there a natural way of curing a yeast infection in the genital area? The idea of shoving a pill up there…*shudder*

I heard somewhere that you could eat yogurt or something, but I’m not sure.
As in, without the pill round thing.

Natural live yoghurt can be used in two ways to deal with thrush: eating it and/or inserting it into your vagina. The key is not the yoghurt itself but the bacteria, lactobacillus acidophilus, in the yoghurt. This helps the body maintain, or regain, its natural pH level and keeps yeast under control.

Eating yoghurt may help keep yeast levels low throughout the body, but particularly in the stomach and intestines. Because candida in the bowel can easily make its way to the vulva and vagina, keeping your digestive system clear of thrush may help prevent vaginal thrush.

Inserting yoghurt into your vagina may also help restore your vaginal pH balance, but there is less scientific support for this method. If you want to give it a try, put one teaspoon of yoghurt in an applicator, a plastic syringe or on a tampon, and insert it high into your vagina. Repeat this every night for a week. It is important that you use only unsweetened, plain, live yoghurt.

The active ingredient in this treatment, lactobacillus acidophilus, is also available at health food stores as a supplement on its own.

Hope this is useful. For more ideas, check out this link. Good luck.

Can a yeast infection get so bad that it could cause some bleeding?

I have what feels like a yeast infection, unfortunately since I had my last child 9 years ago I have suffered from many of these.

I am suffering from itching/sensitive skin/some burning/ and swelling.

I have not had any sexual contact for over 7 months, until today, we had to stop because I began to bleed. It was bright red in color and intercourse was painful.

I did feel discomfort for about 5 days now, but I used Monostat 3 and it seemed to be gone, now I see it is not and I do not know if I should be worried. I bought monostat 1 today and am hoping it fixes my problem.

I honestly hate going to the DR so I wont if I do not have to.

I’ve only bled with a yeast infection if I scratched too deep and hard. However, when you have an infection, the burning and sensitivity can cause probably cause pain, tearing, and bleeding.

Consider going on a yeast-free diet, no sugar (as sugar feeds yeast), no alcohol – so no cakes, candy, sweets, etc.

*Take Lots of acidophilus/probiotics or eat Unsweetened Yogurt
*Avoid tight jeans and other tight trousers
*Wear cotton underwear during the day
*Wear no underwear to bed

Here’s some things to try. I’ve tired the first two and know they work:

1. Put a tsp of apple cider vinegar in a 6-8 ounce glass of water and drink it 2-3 times a day.

2. Mix a tsp of Hydrogen Peroxide in a cup of water and pour over the area.

3. Fill a bathtub with just enough warm, not hot, water to create a sitz bath (enough water to cover your groin and just up to your belly). Add 2 cups of raw apple cider vinegar and sit in the bath with your knees folded toward your body (not stretched out flat). You can stay in this bath mixture for 15 minutes. Gently pat dry and make sure you are very dry before putting any clothes on. Wear only cotton underpants, preferably washed in natural unscented detergent.

EARLIER QUESTION ABOUT DOG WITH EAR INFECTIONS, LIKES PEANUT BUTTER&JELLY SAND’S. COULD BREAD BE THE PROBLEM?

NEW AT THIS AND CLOSED OUT MY QUESTION SOMEHOW.HAD 2 RESPONSES.PLEASE RESPOND AGAIN. IVE TAKEN MY DOG TO THE VET THREE TIMES. HE SAYS HIS EARS LOOK VERY GOOD. NO MITES OR SCABIES, VERY CLEAN. OUTER EAR IS FINE. THE FIRST TWO TREATMENTS WAS WITH DERMALOG. THAT DIDDNT WORK. THIS LAST VISIT 2 DAYS AGO HE PACKED HIS EARS WITH AN EXPERIMENTAL MEDICATION THAT HAS YEAST MEDS,ANTINFLAMITORY MED & STERIODS IN IT. HE SAID IT SHOULD CLEAR UP IN A WEEK. ON EXTREMELY BAD CASES IT COULD TAKE UP TO 3 TREATMENTS.HAVE YOU HEARD OF THIS? HE ALSO SAID THAT WITH THE DERMALOG TREATMENT HIS EARS WOULD BE CLEAR IN A WEEK. I WORRY SO MUCH BECAUSE HE VIGEROUSLY SHAKES HIS HEAD AND IM AFRAID HE IS GOING TO BUST HIS EARS! DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE TO HELP ALLEVIATE THE HEAD SHAKING?

Did the vet test your dog for allergies? The reason I ask is I had a dog with massive ear problems (had nasty black tar-like stuff oozing out of them). The thing that finally got it under control was changing her food because it turned out she was allergic to yeast. Her body couldn’t process the yeast and thus it oozed out of her pores. Once we got her diet in check the rest of the problems went away. Something like bread could definitely exacerbate an allergy like this. Try putting your dog on a high quality food like Wellness and see if that helps the symptoms.
