Is candidiasis (yeast infection) curable?
I just found out I have it. Is it curable? If it is does my body get rid of it or do I have to take medication?
It is curable with over the counter medication such as Monostat or Canesten. Your body can get rid of the infection, but it may take longer au natural then with some thing to help it out. They can be caused by a bad diet, frequent drinking of alcohol, and they can be passed during sex. Men can get them too but not as often as women.
What is good/bad to eat when you have thrush (oral yeast infection)?
I came down with one after being on antibiotics, since those can mess up the balance of organisms in your body. I’ve already gone to the doctor and have a prescription to treat it, but they said it’ll be a week probably before it really starts working. In the mean time, what is good or bad to eat? Like I know yogurt helps prevent such infections, but I didn’t know if it was also good once you already have one.
Yes, you can.
“Medications that upset the balance of microorganisms in the mouth and may cause thrush include corticosteroids, antibiotics, and birth control pills.” -WebMD
Yogurt is very good for thrush. You can also buy probiotics in the capsule form. It will put good bacteria back into your mouth even after you already have it.
I also got thrush from antibiotics and I never took anything for it I just ate yogurt and took probiotics.
are there any natural remedies to cure a yeast infection?
I am taking antibiotics and it causing me a yeast infection. Any ideas on how to cure it with natural products, and how do I prevent it from reoccuring. I will be on the antibiotics for a few months.
Well…yoghurt…and garlic cloves, actually. I’ve never tried it, but I’ve know women who swear by it.
[mage lang="" source="flickr"]yeast infection itching home remedies[/mage] is this a yeast infection?
Hi im 14 years old & im having some discomfort in my vagina, it burns but on a scale from 1-10 its probably about a 5 or 6 on discomfort, but it doesn’t burn or anything when i urinate. its been itching too & i have been having some discharge too.
is this a yeast infection?
if so, what home remedies can i try to cure this?
will an icepack work?
First of all sorry to hear that – It sometimes sucks to be a female! From what you are describing, it sounds very much like a yeast infection rather than a bladder or urinary tract infection. An ice pack will relieve the itching but it won’t cure it. A yeast infection only gets worse in terms of the itching and burning and you may want to see a doctor, just to rule out any other type of infection. Monistat is an over the counter remedy that works very well to get rid of yeast infections. The other thing, if you want a natural remedy is plain yogurt (no flavoring) with the live cultures. Start eating a ton of it and believe it or not, I put some on a pad (like Always) so the yogurt was in direct contact ‘down there.’ I had to do this when I was pregnant because the doctor wouldn’t prescribe anything for me. He told me to do this and it worked! Good Luck!

Breastfeeding pain for over 2 weeks, yeast infection?
I have a 2 1/2 week old son, and I have been having alot of trouble with breastfeeding. My nipples last week were sore, cracked and bleeding – and my breasts burn, I went to the dr and he thought I might have mastitis (which I didn’t think I did, but what would a run of antibiotics hurt) and the antibiotics are almost gone with no relief and from what I have heard this is not normal! I did realize I wasn’t getting him latched on correctly, fixed that and have some relief but my nipples BURN between feedings and if I expose them to the air (especially after a shower) it feels like someone has taken a blow torch to them, like a horrible sunburn. Also, sometimes my entire breast will hurt, sometimes on the surface and sometimes inside. I thought it might be a yeast infection, my baby doesn’t have any patches in his mouth but he does have a red bumpy diaper rash that comes back unless I use a+d at every changing. Please can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong!
Yeah that’s yeast. The diaper rash sounds like yeast to me, I’d have to see a picture but you can google them and judge for yourself.
If it is yeast the antibiotics would have made it worse not better.
Now you could go get a whole bunch of prescription antifungals (ingested and topical for you, topical for baby, etc). Or you can use a more natural approach. Eat a lot of garlic, restrict sugar, take probiotics (or active culture yogurt), etc.
I also highly recommend Grapefruit Seed Extract which can be found in most “nutrition” stores. Here are some basic instructions:
Mom: take 10-15drops in orange juice 2-3 times a day (or use the pills which work better but pills and liquid could get expensive).
Other uses:
10-15 drops per oz of distilled water (found in any grocery store). This mixture should be used:
1) Before or after each feed in the babies mouth. Use a q-tip and just swab inside the cheeks and the tongue. After works “better” but if baby is prone to falling asleep that won’t work. If the baby has active mouth yeast (thrush) apply at least every hour.
2) Mom’s nipples after each feed (q-tip, cotton pad, spray bottle, whatever)
3) Diaper area at each change (I use a spray bottle)
4) Using it at least twice a day on mom’s vagina will prevent vaginal yeast infections. There is no reason not to use after each bathroom trip. Its also antibacterial so its good if you still have stitches.
Treat for at least 2 weeks after the last symptoms stop. Then it is best to reduce the dosage by 5 drops, treat for a week etc until you are down to none. There is no danger from long term use some people just take it for years.

I have a serious relationship question regarding possible yeast infection (adults only please)?
I’m a 29 y.o male, and I’ve had “relationships” with about 20 girls. I have gone down on almost all of them, so I know the differences that normal women have. There were two girls that tasted like metal down there…as if you’re sucking on a copper penny. They were not menstrating or close to that time of month. My question is, what caused that?
I heard a theory that it could be a yeast infection. Would that cause this taste? And before anyone starts, I know that the taste can be very different depending on a lady, but metal seems to be out of the realm of possibilities.
Depending on the answer, I may want to warn them
Did the two that tasted like metal use their cell phones or cordless phones a lot? Or were they somehow overexposed to electromagnetic or microwave fields in another way?
I have microwave sickness, and I can almost guarantee I test like metal. I constantly taste copper or some metal in my mouth, and then I have to take charcoal.
Exposure to EMR though causes a redistribution of metals in the body. I would show them these links though…
Can a male get a yeast infection just by wearing tighter jeans?
I’m a male, I wear jeans definately not skin tight but your typical American eagle, Aeropostale, etc. jeans. I use to wear jeans baggier but don’t anymore. Just because I wear tighter jeans now am I one to catch a yeast infection?
Don’t believe all that you hear. If you get a yeast infection chances are it started in a female. Even being with a female who has a yeast infection, your odds of contracting it are low.
is vaginal cramping normal in early (10 weeks) pregnancy?
Its not sharp, but is there all the time, whether im walking, sitting laying down. its been going on for a few days now but getting intensified. also have itching, stinging when peeing. sometimes normal discharge, sometimes stinky green discharge, sometimes none at all /(dry as climakterium women)… doctor refuses to take std tests part from chlamydia that turned out to be neg. no yeast infection treatment worked (tried 2 treatments=4 diff medications).
well if you are having green discharge you have an std or an infection..get another dr who will test you properly…the itching and stinging when you pee i have that sometimes..from all the increased blood flow to that area..i get inflammed down there and theres nothing i can do about it though..try using cold water it helps me alot..and the cramping is normal as long as its not too bad..its probably cramps you get from your period bc you still get your symptoms just dont have one anymore..it could be ligament pain too from your ligaments stretching
I dont know whats going on down south. It all started with sore nipples for about a week then a few days after that went away, i became very itchy below! To the point where i would itch in my sleep and wake myself up. Because of all this itching (which ive been trying vagisil wipes and powder) ive become very irritated and it hurts when i urinate.. bc urine is running over the irritated spot (it doesnt hurt everytime i pee) And yesterday I really freaked out because i decided to look at myself with a mirror and noticed a couple white..bumps my my vagina opening.. I dont know what this could be!!!
I dont beleive its an STD becasue ive had the same partner for almost two years and this has never happened before.
I made an appt with the gyno monday.. they said because of the bumps they want to see me as soon as possible.
Can anyone tell me what this could be? A serious yeast infection possibly?
What could i use for the itching and pain?
Thanks ladies and gents
i have something similar… can you tell me what the gyno says please?

[mage lang="" source="flickr"]yeast infection home remedies garlic[/mage] home remedies for a yeast infection?
ladies, i have a yeast infection, and i was wondering if you have any tips, hints, or home remedies that work for you or help you out. i haven’t tried garlic but i’ve heard of it and i have NO gauze pads, would tampons work? please.
You can try eat yogurt, plenty of it, stop eating sugar, and eat garlic, raw one. If you have minor yeast infection it will go away with otc medicines. But, most of the times if your immune system is weak it will come back. The drugs from the otc just treat it locally, but not the cause of yeast infection. Everybody has yeast in our body nowadays, it just depends in which one is develops mostly.Antibiotics are the main cause of yeast overgrow.
